Default How many pokemon are actually catchable?

THere is a lot of talk about how you can transfer like all the pokemon from older games and what not into the new series.

Does anyone know, without any of the previous games, how many are catchable in these games alone?

There are 107 new pokemon, and you can catch all the other pokemon except starters and legendaries from previous games, on DP, and also with the help of a LG,FR,R,S, or E.

you can catch all except event pokemon and starter/legendary pokemon from the previous gens. (However, some require that one of the 3rd gen cartridges is in the second slot to be able to find it)

Thanks, one person got what I was asking

I realize you can get all minus starters with the pal park and inserting previous games. I am saying in the grass/water/caves WITHOUT any previous games how many are catchable in the new game.

If you were to play diamond or pearl to completion without ever using previous games how many can you catch?

No, technically he is correct. All the other event pokemon are caught, unless you wanna get technical and say shedinja cannot be captured and etc.

Okay I'm not talking about those sorts of pokemon.

I'm asking about the non-new 106 or whatever pokemon...how many of them are just naturally in the world WITHOUT using the previous game cartridges?

Oh so if you don't need to use a cartridge and it isn't legendary/starter it is actually found in the game?

That is cool. So like...440ish or so.

yes, around 440 for the both Diamond and Pearl, and about 420 for each game due to version exclusives.

Yes but he means without GBA insertion. That list includes that pokemon. So if you take the list plus (Most) GBA-catchables you wil have an idea wich pokemon you can't get. The others you can.

    P.S.:
    Here is the GBA-insertion list:

Good, I wanted to know this as well. I have this string of bad luck where I never have the version needed to catch a growlithe or any others I really want. No exception this time around, too.
