Tonight, we should all hunt for something that everyone can do. Wouldn't that be fun? First to a shiny? I dunno what the winner would get, but it might make things more exciting. Is there already a thread for this kinda thing? Regardless, it would be fun (but sadly, I doubt I will have time tonight ):

If you are referring to when you are chaining, and asking if you can save, then yes, you can. I have saved while chaining, and *knocks on wood* I have had no problems. However, if you turn off your DS, your chain is gone.

Yay!!!!! I finally got a radar shiny! I was looking for Shinx, but got bored so decided to look for Electrike/Pachirisu but found a Mareep. I decided to keep going with the chain and found a hardy Mareep at 8 in the chain! It broke three of my unwanted traditions:
1. All my shinies have been terrible natured.
2. All of my shinies have been male.
3. All of my shinies have been water types.

Aw, lucky with the Mareep. I gave up on Flaaffies yesterday, so I started going for Budews, and got a chain of 35 on my first try. No shinies yet, though. Gotta keep tryin!

Congratulations to me!
My "Blue Fire" shiny Voltorb is the first shiny pokemon I've gotten in this or any other generation! Taking a look at it's IV's, it has top class defence, awful special defence, awful speed, and better than average everything else. And it's Modest!
The chain broke immediately after catching it in a premier ball, though I'm not sure why. #39!
I may go for a second one tonight, we'll see.

My second one gave me a Shiny one at a chain of 9!!!

I'm still on the same chain, so no stats and nature yet.

I got my shiny corsola on the island on route 230. It is right of the fight area and they also have togepis there. But corsola only appear there in a swarm. I got mine on the 27th chain.

This pokeradar trick is really convenient, as I got a Shiny Starly as my twelfth link in the Starly chain. I was using the radar to gaurantee some speed EVs to one of my pokemon, and was pleasantly surprised.

I finally got my Shiny Absol! Terrible luck, though. I have been searching since last Thursday, so today was my sixth day! It's mild girl, above average speed and attack, but bad everything else. And unfortunately, it has Pressure instead of Super Luck

But I'm so incredibly happy. I got to 40 (sweating and shaking) last night at like midnight, went until 1:30... woke up at 10 and found it at 10:30. Yay! Caught in a heal ball (so it does two rings of sparkles when it comes out, I'll add sparkle-ring seals too). Now I'm working on a nickname :P

Incidentally, anyone knows what happens if it hits midnight while you're chaining a swarm?

Whenever I form chains, I can never get above 20-ish. My highest three are 21, 20, and 18 of Starly, Floatzel, and Starly respectively.

That being said, I just read this guide and I really, REALLY hope it helps.

I want a Shiny...well, a shiny anything would be nice.

But for Uxie I'll have to go about soft-resetting. Oh what fun that'll be.

If it hits midnight while you're chaining a swarm, it won't change. Since you're chaining it, and only so long as the chain actually lasts, you'll be able to keep "encountering" it with the PokéRadar. The second your chain ends, though, you can't find it anymore.
