Please let the Spirit King act like Princess Celestia. I actually want Aizen to be proven thoroughly wrong. Oh, also I want to see Rukia's reaction about being naked in the same area with Ichigo.

Anyhow this is all incidental. I read out of habit/loyalty, and cannot wait for Bleach to end already.

It's a case of greed. Kubo should have, and could have ended Bleach after Aizen's defeat, or better yet, after Rukia was saved the 1st time.

I noticed that and I immediately thought of Aizen. I wonder if there's a connection between them after all. Anyway, the Spirit King is creepy. I hope he has an actual personality to make up for his strange appearance. I also can't wait to see his family; I hope they don't all look like him though. :x

The Spirit King is Aizen, and the Aizen we knew was simply an over-the-top gigai he developed to test the strength and resilience of Soul Society.

Seriously, I don't get why Kubo gets such a thrill out of developing so many questions per chapter while answering so few. Nevertheless, another interesting chapter. The chapter after next week's will probably be the last until the new year, seeing Christmas is pretty much 3 weeks away.

Well Aizen was working to replace him, so the Spirit King could have gone the same path as he did and that's why they look smilar.

Kubo lacks originality, HM arc was save Rukia 2.0 but with Orihime taking Rukia's place as the damsel in distress.

Ever since that little nice talk between Urahara and Aizen, we were warned that there was something really off about the King.
They even spoke about him like he was a "thing".

After the revelations about the Key and the Royal Guards, could it be that the Soul King's "body" - what we saw this chapter - is in fact just a vessel? I mean, like, what if he is himself a "super" Key of some kind?

I've seen people theorizing that the King is some kind of Master Hogyoku, and Aizen and Urahara tried to recreate him.

In this scenario, Aizen would have literally tried to become a new "King" by trying to completely fuse himself with the Hogyoku he (and then Urahara) created.

That would fit with the new definition of the King's Key; if it's an ability that can only be bestowed by the King, then Aizen would be able to create it if he became a "King" himself.

I'm waiting for Urahara to be confirmed as the final villain. But I do like this theory since it explains the similarities that I noticed between the King and Aizen's Hogyoku form.

It looks somewhat like a cocoon to me, what also reminds me of Aizen's butterfly form.

So Shunsui is now the Captain Commander; can't say I'm surprised. He certainly knows how to rally the other Captains, so he was the best candidate for the job. And Unohana being revealed to be the first Kenpachi was a surprise; I guess all that stuff Kubo said about her being tough was true.

At this point though, while I'm excited by the prospect of actually seeing Unohana fight, I'm mostly just curious as to why her name is "Yachiru." But I guess that'll be revealed soon enough.

She was the first Kenpachi and her real name is Yachiru, not Retsu.

Kenpachi Zaraki named his sidekick Yachiru after the person he respected the most.
