Ash in the pokemon anime was suppose to become a kind of red, and use Pokemon to conquer the world with justice. But when Satoshi and Ken realized most of the money came from 8 to 10 years old, they had no choice but to leave Ash 10 because of pressure from Nintendo and their peers. Satoshi and Ken wanted a Red. So what they did is that they gave the rights to.... Well I can't remember his name but the guy who first developped the mangas. What he did is that he made the Mangas close to what the anime was suppose to be.

I don't think so.. it is because there are more rock weak than rock resists not like the rest of the types (some have immunities so that's why ground and fighting are out of the list).
