I've made fair progress in the last couple of days, as I have journeyed from Viridian Forest to Cerulean between my last update and this one.

Before taking on Pewter Gym, I levelled up my Caterpie so it would evolve all the way to Butterfree and acquired a Pidgeotto. The Gym was a breeze with Butterfree as it only took a couple of Confusion attacks each to take down Brock's Onix and Geodude.

I then proceeded to Mt. Moon, defeating all the trainers along the way. Now I have made my way through Mt. Moon, i've saved in Cerulean, where I'm deciding whether to first train on the Routes above, or take on Misty before using the Routes to train my soon-to-be Bulbasaur and Charmander.

EDIT: Have gotten further during the course of the day. I've now defeated all trainers on Nugget Bridge for some valuable EXP, and have beaten Misty handily. I also adopted the Bulbasaur and was given Charmander by that guy who i'm supposing is based on Damien off the Charmander episode on the Anime (hey, at least he's a little more caring on the games lol). I'll now train them both on Route 24/25 before meeting Bill and making my way to Vermilion.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT 2 (02/09/08): Wow, nobody plays these games anymore, lol. I've made even more progress now, also ditching my principles of having an Ash-based team and thus since depositing Butterfree and Pidgeotto into a Box. They shall soon get credit for their contributions though xD.

Anyway, after training Bulbasaur and Charmander in Cerulean Cape, I caught an Abra and tried out the Mew glitch, which worked. The said Mew is now a valued member of my team and Bulba and Charmander are now Ivysaur and Charmeleon. I am now situated in Vermilion, where I have raided the SS Anne, beaten Gary and got Cut. I've also beaten Surge's underlings, but plan to train my team more before taking the big cheese on. I am also pondering what my last team member should be. Hmm...

    Team (as of original post):
    Pikachu - Lv19
    Butterfree - Lv18
    Pidgeotto - Lv17
    Bulbasaur - Lv10
    Charmander - Lv10

    Team (as of EDIT 2):
    Pikachu - Lv23
    Ivysaur - Lv22
    Charmeleon - Lv20/21
    Mew - Lv21/22

Well, I finally picked up my Red Version today. I haven't played it in an incredibly long time.

There wasn't much to do, so I just went directly to the Elite Four with my old team. That team consisted of Venasaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Raichu, Pidgeot, and Dragonite. I pretty much 1HKO'd all their Pokemon, but it was still nice seeing and hearing my very first Pokemon game again.

I am going to restart my game now for the first time in 6 years. It will be fun playing it all over again. I'm going to start with my very first starter, Squirtle. ^^

    I played Yellow again =o.

Defeated Brock so far with Pikachu and Nidoran F. Now outside Mount Moon, both of them Level 16. <3 Nidorina & Pikachu really.

Played for a bit today. I battled Gary for the first time in the game, and won of course. Then I just walked around a bit and trained my Squirtle to Lv.10. I also went to battle Gary again for the second time, but Squirtle fainted because I didn't have any more potions :/.

I'm starting to train Squirtle a bit more to battle Gary again, probably to around Lv12 so I would have an easy time defeating him. When I start my game again, I'm going to catch Nidoran F and Nidoran M as well.

EDIT: People need to start playing this game :<

I got through the Viridian Forest fairly easily with a lv.16 Squirtle. Then I went through Mt. Moon and got to Cerulean City fairly easily as well. Misty was a breeze since my Wartortle was lv.28, and her Pokemon flinched a lot. I'm about to go through the bridge to catch an Oddish (my second addition to my team).

I've gotten fairly far since I last posted here. Last time, I was just about to take on Surge in Vermilion, while I have currently just cleared the Rockets out of Silph Co.

After beating Surge, I obtained Squirtle from Officer Jenny and began levelling it up to catch up with the rest of my team. It's become a useful member of my party as a Wartortle, and will continue to thrive when it evolves to Blastoise, i'm sure. As for Celadon, I easily took out all of Team Rocket in their Game Corner Hideout, but Erika and her Gym was quite challenging as the trainers there spammed Wrap and status inflicting moves, as well as the fact that I only had Charmeleon who was effective against them.

So as I say, I am now situated in Saffron after clearing out the Silph Co. I now have the dilemma of whether to go towards Fuschia, or take on Sabrina first. However, I guess that it'd be wiser to go to Fuschia first, considering that I heard that Sabrina's roster are at level 50, *gulp*. I'm also still wondering who that elusive sixth member of my team shall be, although i'm thinking of Hitmonchan at the moment.

    Current Team:
    Pikachu - Lv.35
    Venusaur - Lv34
    Charmeleon - Lv34
    Wartortle - Lv33/34
    Mew - Lv34

I haven't done much in Red so far, but I did manage to catch a lv.14 Oddish <3. I'm training him right now to evolve into a Gloom, but that could take awhile. While I'm doing that, I'm looking for an Abra to add for my team, and a Pidgey to save as an HM slave (although I could probably do that later). Now that I think of it, I should catch another Oddish to use as an HM slave for Cut.

I also went through Nugget Bridge and beat all the trainers to get a nugget. The battle with Gary at the beginning surprised me since I went up right after my gym battle, but my Wartortle was able to 1HKO most of his Pokemon. It really is no fun when you beat the game with your starter Pokemon, and I think this is the first time I'm actually adding Pokemon to my team in Red Version XD.

I've just got done beating Koga in Yellow, and I managed to get an awesome team.

    Nidoking
    Pikachu ( Well, duh. )
    Pidgeot
    Venusaur
    Gyarados
    Charizard

Generic Venusaur, Charizard, and Pidgeot of course. But I wanted to go extreme and train a Magikarp instead of a Squirtle.

I met Bill, and then went to Vermillion City, training my lv18 Oddish along the way. I went to the Diglett Cave to train my Oddish, and now he is a lv.27 Gloom. I also caught a Dugtrio at lv.29, which surprised me since he was at such a high level. Oh, and my Wartortle is now at lv.30.

I going to defreat all the the trainers on route 209, and then I'm going to board the SS Anne. I doubt that I will catch anymore Pokemon before that, but I think the three I have right now will suffice.

Just beaten Koga, and it's dawned on me how low levelled my Pokemon may be. However, maybe this is because the Gym Leader's Pokemon levels were ramped up in Yellow. Before getting to Fuschia, I made my way from Saffron - where I cleared Silph Co - to Lavender, and made my way down the Route south of it (with lots of water and flying trainers on the way to Fuschia) for some training. On this route, Charmeleon and Wartortle evolved to Charizard and Blastoise respectively.

Once I reached Fuschia, I went to the Safari Zone and got the Warden's Gold Teeth and the Surf HM, before going to the Gym. I successfully cleared the Gym in no time, but in hindsight I wish I'd battled the trainers on Cycling Road for much more training beforehand. I was a bit unsatisfied that Mew hadn't yet learned Psychic for the Gym and I'm sure it would've learnt it by that time. Oh well lol.

    Current Team:
    Pikachu - Lv39
    Venusaur - Lv38
    Charizard - Lv38
    Blastoise - Lv38
    Mew - Lv39

I'm currently on Cinnabar Island duplicating TMs. I'm going back to Saffron to fight the Rockets at Silph Co. afterwards. My team is terrific this time around, though I wish Rhyhorn wasn't totally dependent on TMs to rock and roll. My team, as of now:

    Bulby (Venusaur) --- Level 34
    Chuu (Raichu) --- Level 33
    Dreamyn (Hypno) --- Level 34
    Dido (Dodrio) --- Level 32
    Bubba (Slowpoke) --- Level 31
    Freddie (Rhyhorn) --- Level 31

I'm rockin' and rollin' it, and about to own Team Rocket!

I went to the St. Anne and battled Lt. Surge today. All the battles were ridiculously easy, since my Pokemon were all lv.30+. I really have no idea why they put lv.29 Dugtrio in the cave when the gym leader's Pokemon is lower than lv.24, it makes the battle very non- climatic.

My current team as of now:

    Wartortle lv.31
    Bubble
    Water Gun
    Bite
    Withdraw

Gloom lv.34 (will evolve once I get to Celadon City)
    Cut
    Sleep Powder
    Acid
    Absorb

    Dugtrio lv. 31
    Scratch
    Sand-Attack
    Dig
    ?

I haven't used an TM's yet, and I probably won't until I start struggling with a gym leader/other battles. I'm not quite sure which Pokemon I'm going to get for the rest of my team right now, but I'll probably get Electabuzz and Arcanine since I like to have a balance of elements in my team (fire, grass, water, earth, wind, thunder).

Surprisingly enough, i've beaten three Gyms on Yellow in the space of an afternoon lol (Blaine, Sabrina and Giovanni), all off which were fairly easy. Blaine was ok apart from his Fire Spin-spamming Rapidash, Sabrina was way easier than I thought with her low-defence Psychics, and Giovanni's Ground team were easily dealt with by my team.

I also disposed of Gary easily as I made my way to Victory Road. I think my team just need a little training in Victory Road before they can run rampant at the Elite 4.

    Pikachu - Lv46
    Venusaur - Lv44
    Charizard - Lv45
    Blastoise - Lv44/45
    Mew - Lv45

I got through the Rock Tunnel, went to Celadon City and won my fourth badge, went through Team Rocket's hideout in the game corner, and just finished getting the Pokeflute from the tower. It took quite a bit of time, but it was all way too easy.

    My updated team:

    Arcanine lv32
    Dig
    Body Slam
    Ember
    Roar

    Cubone lv.23
    Bone Club
    Growl

    Vileplume lv.43 <3
    Sleep Powder
    Petal Dance
    Cut
    Acid

    Wartortle lv.32
    Withdraw
    Water Gun
    Bubble
    Bite

    Hitmonlee lv.31
    Double Kick
    Meditate

    Dugtrio lv.33
    Dig
    Growl
    Sand Attack
    Scratch

When I get to the Elite Four, I'm planning on having: Cloyster, Electabuzz, Marowak, Vileplume, Arcanine, and Hitmonlee as my final team. I still have a long way to go though...

Recently beat all the gym leaders up to Sabrina. Now on the way to fight Blaine, stuck in the Seafoam Islands, kinda. I love how the Gym Leaders overlevel your Pokemon by so much, ugh. Still, I got lucky with Sabrina anyway, paralysis kicked in 4 times in a row, just enough to kill him. I love Yellow <3.

    current team:

    Naoko (Nidoqueen) Level 43
    Earthquake/Rock Slide/Body Slam/Double Kick

    Rika (Ninetales) Level 42
    Ember/Confuse Ray/Body Slam/Flamethrower

    Chiharu (Pikachu) Level 42
    Thunderbolt/Seismic Toss/Slam/Thunder Wave

    Tomoyo (Wigglytuff) Level 42
    Thunderbolt/Rest/Bubblebeam/Double-Edge

    Sakura (Clefable) Level 42
    Strength/Ice Beam/Psychic/Tri Attack

    Kaho (Blastoise) Level 42
    Skull Bash/Bite/Surf/Water Gun
