I was going to post this as a plain old fact, but quizzes are better:
There is only one Pokémon whose name contains the name of a region. Can you find it?
everything has meaning
existence has meaning
being alive has meaning
Ekans = Snake
Arbok = Kobra
Muk = ?
thing. Muk is just a misspelling of muck, which Muk is indeed muck. That is a total coincidence, and not meaning anything. Or the Rival's Raticate thing that has been debunked time and time again but people still insist on it. Or that one thing that has been going around the internet with a lot of 'facts', some of which are true but some are crap.
For another fact, but one that is actually true, Bug is the only type other than the starter types to have an ability which increases its power when in critical condition (A bit oddly worded, but I'm saying that Swarm is the Bug-equivalent of Torrent, Overgrow, and Blaze and the only one that is a non-starter type).
Seedot is the only pokemon that can learn moves via level up (barring smeargle) that has kept the same learn set (levels and all) since the generation it was introduced.
fossils released in the same region (barring old amber) all share the same color shade for their bag icon
Hoenn: Grayish brown
Sinnoh: Reddish brown
Unova: Dark blue
Focus blast, Frost Breath, and Snarl are moves that can only be taught via TM.

Can't be sure if this has been said yet, but I might as well and have someone then correct me.
The legendary bird's names are a combination of elements and Spanish numbers.
Articuno = Arctic (Ice) + Uno
Zapdos = Zap (Electric) + Dos
Moltres = Molten (Fire) + Tres
Then, there's the two Fighting-Type brothers. Their names are based off of two combat legends.
Hitmonchan = Jackie Chan
Hitmonlee = Bruce Lee
Finally, Kanghaskan's name is based off of Genghis Khan, an old emperor.
I have claimed Chance by UVERworld!
Bill in Pokemon is known for creating the PC system... Bill Gates is known for creating Windows. Computers that are using Windows are commonly called PCs.
did you know that mew is a fire type
pokemon Colosseum/XD gale of darkness are currently the only console battling games to have no announcers whatsoever
http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthr...8#post15775448 I'm back guys. Kind of. I won't be really active and sorry for any inconvenience I've caused!
Help the eggs!
Serebii War Fiction Story
Hitmontop does not have any matching naming schemes as hitmonlee and hitmonchan in ALL the languages!
Metagross weighs about 1212 pounds
That, of course, is two twelves.
12 x 12 = 144
144 is... a gross :3
Probably just a fun coincidence. o:
I kinda doubt they just randomly picked 1212 for its weight.
Anyway, despite having flame (which is intangible) for their tail, both Ponyta and Rapidash are capable of learning the move Iron Tail.
This is just as weird as Alakazam and Primeape being able to learn the move, since having something intangible for your tail makes it just as impossible as having no tail.
magneton is made by three magnemite and weighs 10 times more. magnemite weighs 13.0 pounds, magneton weighs 132 pounds.and
all five professors are named after trees. Oak, Elm, Birch, Rowan, and Juniper

-Mamoswine and its evolutionary line are the only Pokemon family which have a typing which allows them not to take any damage from weather(Ice/Ground).The other possible combinations Ice/Steel and Ice/Rock have not materialized.Though other Pokemon with Overcoat also don't take any damage,it is due to their ability.
-They are also the only Pokemon to take Super Effective damage from the Primary STAB of all the starters.
-Swinub,Piloswine,Mamoswine,Vibrava,Flygon,Gible,Ga bite and Garchomp can cause Super Effective damage to every Pseudo Legendary with just their STAB attacks(Ice/Dragon attacks take care of Dragonite,Salamence,Garchomp and Hydreigon while Ground attacks take care of Tyranitar and Metagross).
Spoiler:- Completed and Current Playthroughs:
Here's something interesting that supports the theory that Kangaskhan was originally supposed to be (or to have...) an evolution.
The fact is, iff you perform the "TM 55 Glitch" in Pokemon Yellow, you can actually see a Kangaskhan trying to evolve...
And also a funny thing - though I think this is pretty random - when you finish that glitch, a Kangaskhan's spirte appears in Lavender Town, replacing some girl, asking you if you believe in ghosts...

fire starters are based on the chinaese Zodiac:
Water starters are based on semi-acqatic animals
Wobbuffet is the only fully evolved Pokemon that can't learn any TMs
Illumise is the only Pokemon in Generation 3 whose name starts with the letter I
the most awesome pokemon you could ever have!
Judging by it, the next Fire-Type starter will be:
- A sheep? That would be cool.
- A horse? Meh, Ponyta again?
- A rabbit? It would be cool too.
- A tiger? Hm... no. :c
- An ox? Now that would be interesting.
- A snake? We already have Charmander as a reptile-like Fire starter.
- A dog? Houndoom 2.0?
Talking about starters, all Grass-Type ones are based on reptile animals.
Bulbasaur = dinosaur.
Chikorita = dinosaur too.
Treecko = lizard.
Turtwig = tortoise.
Snivy = snake.
I have one, its kind of obvious but Pikachu's the very first electric type Pokemon in the Kanto and National Pokedex! I'm not sure about the others regions.
Ash: Now I choose you!
