Butterfree was the first shiny pokemon in the anime... and it was way before the offical creation of shiny pokemon.
Most of the alternately coloured pokémon in the anime are apparently not so-called shiny pokémon. They haven't sparkled when coming out of their Poké Balls, and they often don't match the colours in the games. They're just differently coloured pokémon, not shiny pokémon.

Strangely, the Surskit line and the Magikarp line have startling similarities.

Both are Water-types in their first stages, and both are part-Flying types in their second stages.

Both have Swift Swim as an ability in their first stages, and have Intimidate as an ability in their second stages.

They both can learn it in Generation III. The weird thing is that in Generation IV, Poochyena can learn Crunch at level 53, but Mightyena doesn't! Weird...

Fighting and Poison are the only types in which there are no genderless species.

They along with Bug are the only types not on a legendary, discounting Arceus with the appropriate plate.

Mudkip learns Hydro Pump at level 50-something but its evolutions can't learn it by level up.

Actually they do learn Crunch in the 3rd generation games. However, it's quite strange that Mightyena can't learn the move normally in the 4th generation (has to remain a Poochyena to get the move).

Chimchar can learn Flamethrower by level up but its evos cant.

Im sure this applies to many pokemon though...so that people actually raise their basic pokemon carefully before evolving. Otherwise lv.16 Charmanders would go extinct.

Episode 88 - In the Pink!
Pinkan Island, the butterfree could be from the island. The "Pinkan Berries" made them pink and they can only be pink if they keep eating them. So I'm unsure if that pink Butterfree was from the island and eat those berries or it was born pink... but it is not shiny... theres a reason we call shiny Pokemon "shiny".

Anyways, in Pokemon Battle Revolution, it seems that some Pokemon dose not close their "eyes" when they are asleep. Heatran is one of them... Darkrai as well. As well as Dusknoir and the Magnezone's Red/Blue eye. I find that odd. Or just weird.

This is a signature.

Arbok's pattern is slightly different in each Generation, reinforcing the Pokédex entry that states it changes from region to region. The FireRed/LeafGreen sprites match the original Red/Blue/Yellow sprites, keeping things consistent.

Why do you think Arceus was always called "The Original One" in the games? Nobody knew its true name. The real reason, though, was probably to keep it a mystery to the player what "The Original One" was.

How do we know that Arceus was the one called "The Original One"? That's just speculation, right?

It might just have been the almighty Bidoof.

Thanks to Demotei for the perfect sprite~

Steelix is the only pokemon with its typing (steel / ground) as if shedinja (bug / ghost) and skarmory (flying / steel).
I'm sure theres more though.
