Default Who's a good partner to go along with Cyndaquil in PMD2?

I'm taking a break from Time and starting on Darkness. Who's a good partner to go along with Cyndaquil?

A Grass-type perhaps just for coverage. Treecko and Mudkip can be cheap because of Protect/Detect. Pikachu is good because of Discharge (which is greatly needed).

Pikachu, he can hit multiple enemies.
Munchlax, he learns Earthquake, that can hit multiple enemies.

Those are the ones I can think of, many more combinations are great, like Treecko and Mudkip, but its a little cheap.

    Species: Chimchar
    Nature: Hasty
    Lvl: 5 or lower
    Gender: Any

Great choice. Good moves early on are Dig, Giga Drain and Solarbeam, Detect is a must, but is available around lvl 30.

Bulbasaur is always good, with the option of TMs Bullet Seed/Giga Drain, and the natural movepool containing Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Razor Leaf, Seed Bomb, Leech Seed.
    Needs more silly hats.

Default PMD2 Rate My Team / Moveset Help [Again, READ FIRST]

    EDIT;;

    Erik Destler says:
why don't you make a moveset thread
i meant to make one a while back
    X)
    iPokeYou says:
    YOU *****!
    I CLOSED IT.
    LMAO.
    ;-;
    Erik Destler says:
    make a new one
that way in the help thread you have simply "help" posts "like how i do dis"
and then in that one "wat god for darki idk wat 2 do"
ffs. So yeah, RMTs used to belong in the help thread. Now use this [re-opened] thread instead. Blah blah.

Whether it be movesets, choice of team members, items, et cetera. Go post yours and ask for recommendations or see if it is very good. But if you're posting to give recommendations explain it.
And don't post your movesets just for the heck of it. Only do it if you want opinions, unlike the other "What movesets do you use in PMD2?" thread.

    • Don't provoke flaming or bashing. Don't flame or bash saying someone's moveset sucks. If it does suck, explain it without trolling.
    • Respect peoples' choices. If they want to use a specific move/Pokemon, let them.
    • Don't spam.
    • Accept criticism and help. This is what you're posting here for anyway.
    • Don't ask for teams. You can ask for specific Pokemon to use along with your team.
    • Try to post your movesets at the very least.
    • Don't just give plain 'number' rates! Explain why it is good or bad. "10/10. Awesome." isn't enough.

Pretty good movesets, though copycat seems a bit reckless. And for pikachu, maybe some more type variety would help. With Skitty's normalize, having only normal and electric moves may be slightly problematic.

Blizzard Consider Thunderbolt if you need more PP.
    Copycat Wake-Up Slap, maybe?
    Level - 75

You can link Sing and Wake-Up Slap. Automatic 2x damage there. ;d
Fake Out has a little range. Yeah.

    Chii - Pikachu
    Partner - so always second
    Moves : Thunder Brick Break
    Discharge
    Quick attack Consider Shock Wave?
    Thunderbolt Grass Knot
    Level - 73 ( I hate doom seeds, a few got thrown >.>)

Just giving some type coverage. Nothing much here. Thunderbolt serves the same purpose that Discharge does, but only worse. Thunder is just... making it one too many Electric moves. Though you can consider replacing Discharge with Thunderbolt if you need more PP, but only if you're willing to lose the whole room coverage. Shock Wave provides more range than Quick Attack, but has less PP and again, may give too many Electric moves. But not like Quick Attack covers much types anyway. Up to you.
    Suggestions in bold.

    Takumi (Squirtle; partner)
    Level: 21
    Moves:
    Wide Slash/Blizzard
    Bubblebeam
    Rock Tomb
    filler move; maybe Protect

Wide Slash mobs. Blizzard does better but has less PP and unlike Wide Slash, it doesn't hit every Pokemon for neutral. Bubblebeam for range and Rock Tomb for speed advantage.
Again, suggestions in bold. Well, moves that you can't learn yet for a 'future' moveset as you requested. ;D
Steal Skitty and Pikachu's moveset from my other rate. olololol.

    Finally, a team rate thread:

    Kevin (Empoleon - Me)
    Level: 58
    Moves:
    Bubblebeam
Metal Claw (will replace with something better maybe, but I like the PP)
    Brine +1
    Hydro Pump

    Twiggy (Torterra - Partner)
    Level: 54
    Moves:
    Razor Leaf
    Stone Edge
    Wood Hammer
I forget the last move -_-

    Rotom (Rotom)
    Level: 52
    Moves:
    Charge Beam
    Shadow Ball
    Discharge
Omnious Wind +3 (Hooray for 2 room moves!!!)

Yeah, only STAB moves for Rotom

Funny how you closed someone's rate my team thread, only to post the same topic the next day. Ah, the irony.

    Anyway, here's my team.

    Mew
    Psychic
    Thunderbolt
    Flamethrower
    Protect (filler)

    Celebi
    Giga Drain
    Psychic
    -no move-
    -no move-

    Jirachi
    Psychic
    Thunderbolt
    Water Pulse
    Shadow Ball

Going for a theme here, not my perminate team. Obviously need some help w/ Celebi.

By the way, I recommend adding a proper format to the first post. We don't need sloppy movesets.

I'm trying to sort out my moveset before I go back to attempt Dialga again (just couldn't do it the first time no matter how many times I reset it).

    Kirsty Lv. 42 (Skitty)
--Sing (Which is my lifesaver, so I don't want to ditch this one.)
--Heal Bell (Very useful and frees up space in my bag that would be filled with Heal Seeds and whatnot.)
    --Tackle (Wooo, lots of PP!)
--Fake Out (I like the advantage of being able to attack two spaces away...)

Ehh. What changes should I make, do you think? For compatible TMs, I currently have: Hidden Power, Payback, Shadow Ball, Vacuum Cut, and Water Pulse.

    I've discovered that I really hate Skitty's Normalizer. D;

    o.k, my turn...

    Kitty Lv.100 (Skitty)
    -Sing
    -Tackle
    -Thunderbolt
    -Wide Slash

    Mimi Lv.100 (Chikorita)
    -Tackle
    -Razor Leaf
    -Aromatherpy
    -Energy Ball

    Angel Lv.100 (Gardevoir)
    -Hypnosis
    -Confusion
    -Thunderbolt
    -Magical Leaf

Kittly is the one who does most of the work, and she can take a whole monster house by herself, I hardly use Mimi now days and Angel is my helper when i do wifi rescue.

    so anything to improve?

Seems that a lot of people started with skitty.

Anyways, your current moveset I'd say, is very good for boss fights. But, because of normalizer, pehaps it'd be better to rely on your partner instead. I suggest putting Dialga to sleep and making sure your partner has an effective move against him.

As far as TM's are concerned, I'd just ignore them. Unless they have a particular effect, like range or status, that you find useful, don't bother. Normalize would render type advantage usless anyways.

    -Razor Leaf
    -Aromatherpy
    -Energy Ball

    Angel Lv.100 (Gardevoir)
-Hypnosis (doesn't seem necessary due to skitty's sing, maybe a recovery move?)

    Brine +1 Rock Tomb
    Hydro Pump Wide Slash/Blizzard

Rock Tomb for speed advantage, Wide Slash or Blizzard mobs.

    Twiggy (Torterra - Partner)
    Level: 54
    Moves:
    Razor Leaf or Energy Ball
    Stone Edge preferrably Rock Tomb
    Wood Hammer Wide Slash
    Giga Drain

Wide Slash for mob, Energy Ball is an alternate for range move, Rock Tomb again for speed advantage, but Stone Edge is fine. Giga Drain is for heal.

    Rotom (Rotom)
    Level: 52
    Moves:
    Charge Beam [b]Consider Dark Pulse[/s]
    Shadow Ball
    Discharge
Omnious Wind +3 (Hooray for 2 room moves!!!)

Rotom doesn't give much options. Just consider Dark Pulse instead of Charge Beam if you want another type, though Charge Beam is still pretty good.

    Mew
    Psychic consider Rock Tomb
    Thunderbolt Silver Wind
    Flamethrower
    Protect (filler)

Rock Tomb if you want to slow down opponents. Silver Wind covers room. I was going to put Aura Sphere in place of Flamethrower, but I think Flamethrower has more PP?

    Celebi
    Giga Drain
    Psychic
    U-Turn / Energy Ball / Shadow Ball
    Silver Wind

Silver Wind for room again, others are for some range.

    Jirachi
    Psychic
    Thunderbolt
    Water Pulse
    Shadow Ball Drain Punch

    Drain Punch is heal.

I'd probably replace Psychic on some of those three for something, but I don't know. Maybe you can switch around the recommended moves.
    Suggestions in bold.

reason why i use wide slash and thunderbolt,

Thunderbolt cover area around the user, while Wide Slash cover 3 tiles in front of the user...this is because i face alot of situation where there is 3 tiles in front of Kitty, so there is no reason of thunderbolt's PP if i cant get full benefit of it.....
