Official R/S/E Recent Happenings Thread - Fresh Edition

Pokemon Sapphire:

Well, beat the E4 today.

Sidney was no problem. Blaziken just tore through his team with a couple of double kicks.

Phoebe, also easy. Sharpedo crunched his way straight through her team.

Glacia was where things started to get hard. Double kicked through her team until Walrein, where my Blaziken got offed by an extremely lucky sheer cold. Kecleon stood in, and just used a sub-punch strategy until the fat pig-walrus went down.

Drake, oh, Drake. How I bow to your power.
Started off with Kecleon, and ice beamed my way through shelgon and the first flygon. I got killed because of her ability, because a dragon claw hit me. That made the type dragon, and I was killed by the second flygon. That forced me to send out Altaria, and I got in one ice beam before being brutally murdered by a dragon claw. Salamence just ripped through my whole team. I sent out Exploud, and got a critical on Return.

That leaves Steven. I now see why he was made the champion.
Blaziken started off, easily blaze kicking his way through Skarmory, but not fast enough to avoid a toxic. He double kicked Aggron to 1/2 hp, and then was ALMOST killed by an earthquake, barely surviving the poison damage. He was then switched out for Sharpedo, who surfed Aggron to his doom. Next was Cradily. Oh, how I hated that thing. Kecleon got the spotlight this time, getting in a focus punch and bringing the thing down to 2/3 hp. However, he was hit by an ancientpower and was giga drained to death afterwards. Altaria was killed by another ancientpower. Exploud was switched in, flamethrower'd the Cradily, and blocked the next pokemon, Armaldo, stalling for time as I healed my blaziken. However, the poison damage couldn't be removed before Exploud was KO'd. Blaziken double kicked the thing down, but died of poison damage.

Shedinja was my last resort, and I was just waiting for Steven to KO me with his Metagross so that I could start over. Shedinja used shadow ball, and I braced myself for the next attack, waiting to hear the fainting *beeoop*...
But it never came.
I had forgotten all about Wonder Guard! I happily shadow balled the Metagross to death, feeling so happy that I kept Shedinja with every hit. I had finally, truely beaten the Elite Four! All thanks to Shedinja, a pokemon who I thought was useless.

It has since become my most treasured pokemon on that game.

After a bunch of playing last night heres where im at:

I levelled up my pokes to where I wanted them and took on the 1st gym where Fiesta! (Lombre) easily took care of the goonies of the gym leader. Then Fiesta took care of the leaders Geodude with ease and Aquaman (Marshtomp) Had some problem with Nosepass due to his using 2 super potions but I eventually cam out victorious.

Then I left to Dewford and got all the stuff that needed to be done there all while capturing a new pokemon for the team. I caught an Aron (nicknamed Steelah) and as a bonus, it was Adamant natured (as is Aquaman may I add)

After levelling up Steelah a few levels i went into the gym. I had some troubles because of having a steel type take the lead to level her up, but came out victorious.

After, I went to Slateport and took care of Team Aqua in that place they were at (I forgot the name) and now I need to do some level grinding before moving on.

Been beaten by the E4 twice on Emerald, both against Drake. I have it all planned out if I lose again. At the moment, i'm in phase 3, which is raise my team to around level 55.

Lose 1 more time: Use Salmence.
Lose twice more: Cheat and use Rayquaza.

EDIT2: My Shiftry won Tough contest!! My Ludicolo won the Beauty contest some time ago.. heeehee.. This makes the only, and second grass pokemon to be painted. In the museum I have only two pics. haha!

After a lot more playing (its my vacation) Ive got much farther.

A Trapinch whom I have already evolved into a Vibrava nicknamed Vengaza!.
A Kecleon who has been HUGE ine beating the Psychic gym named Pokey.
A Linoone who I use as a HM slave (and useful in battle too) named Scratchy.

Ive also evolved my Steelah into a Lairon and my Aquaman into a Swampert.

I just beat the Team Aqua leader and released Kyogre.

Edit: Played the slots until I ran out of coins, fun. I still don't understand the bonus thing when it decides to come up it always lands on 0 and blows up! What am I meant to do?!

So ive caught Kyogre(and immediatley sent him to Platinum for ev training).
Then using a whole lotta Pokey, I destroyed the 8th gym quite easily.
After a bunch of wandering, I finally made it past Victory Road.
Currently im going to the back of Victory Road to level up my pokemon and running into Evergrandes Pokecenter to heal em up.
Im trying to get all my pokes at least into the mid to high 50s before trying my hand at the Elite 4 for the 1st time.

In my Sapphire Scramble challenge, I finally beat Wallace, the final gym leader! I never realized how annoying Milotic was until this morning. XP Jeez, it was very hard...I won though!

Hello and good day, I am anchor news reporter Midnight with the updates on Team Emerald. So let us begin

Well if at first you do not succeed try and try again, well that phrase was not used today as the well-prepared and newly upgraded team took storm to the Elite Four winning all 4 rounds. The team looked as followed

Level 78 Swampert
Level 79 Manetric
Level 76 Machamp
Level 84 Gardevoir
Level 81 Nidoking
Level 86 Swellow

The team with new trades at the last minute and constant praticing got them to face the elite four with no problem by shutting out the first 3 competitors in less then 5 minutes. With the challenge from Drake that lasted for 6 minutes was an incredibley heated match will neither team showing mercy, with a bit of luck Drake finished the first pokemon of team Emerald off, but then the team started to fall apart as one by one getting KO'D. So the results was resulting pokemon 5-0 for team emerald. Then it was time to face the champion Wallace. Before they went to challenge him the GM came in and healed and motivated the team to strive for their perfection in excellence.

"We thought that the team needed that extra boost since they were doing so well. They have trained long and hard for this."

So they enter the room, the lights grow dim, and both trainers came into the ring at full force, a region champion versus an upcoming rookie with a shockingly solid team. What was the result?

-Wallace comes in and KO's 2 straight with an odd occurrence.
-Emerald turns around and KO's 5 straight with super effective moves and critical hits
-Wallace KO's his own pokemon

Victory for team Emerald with the score of 4-0



So, now that team Emerald has defeated Wallace and was put into the record books, what was next for them? That is for the next post to tell...

Un-freaking-believeable. I beat the E4 first go with under-levelled pokes. I am now at Rayquaza, ready for my revenge shiny hunt. Wish me luck!

Emerald this week:

Finally made it to Sootopolis City and did the whole Kyogre/Groudon find Rayquaze fancy cutscene oh it's over thing and accessed the final Gym. I lost twice to Juan's freaky Kingdra, although, in fairness, my team is a bit underleveled as I'm only really playing through the game right quick in order to access the Weather Trio and Lati@s to transfer to Platinum.
Anyways, managed to beat Juan eventually and got to Victory Road. It's been so long since I played Emerald that I couldn't remember the way to go and kept going round and round in circles all morning trying to figure out even a way back to the entrance XD I managed eventually and caught a LV42 Lairon in the process (transferable indeed yum yum). Was hoping to find a Mawile on my travels, but had no luck so I had to go back in after healing at the PokéCentre area of the League. Went back in and decided my team required leveling and so I battled the two trainers just under the bridge at the exit (double battle) and lost to their Slaking and Dusclops.
Finally did the New Mauville thing for Watson and got Thunderbolt. Am currently looking for ways to LV+ my team for defeating the E4 nice and swiftly ^.^

I've spent this afternoon training my team on the routes spanning the east and west of Mauville because Tate and Liza were simply owning me at every attempt. I may have possibly grinded out a victory against them if i'd used healing items etc, but I wanted to beat them more convincingly.

My Swablu evolved during training and gained eight levels in the process, while the rest of my Pokemon also gained a couple of levels each. This training allowed for my Manectric to take out Xatu with one Thunderbolt before regrettably falling to Claydol's Earthquake. From then on, my strategy was to chip away at Claydol, Solrock and Lunatone's HP with Swampert's Surf. Meanwhile, the presence of Altaria meant that I had a Pokemon who was unaffected by Claydol's Earthquake and withstood any Special Attacks while also dishing out damage with Dragonbreath.

After winning the Mind Badge, I defeated Team Magma at the Space Centre and also had a fairly entertaining tag battle alongside Steven against Maxie and Tabitha. Swampert washed away the Camerupt, Breloom outmuscled the Mightyena, and Manectric clipped the wings of Golbat and Crobat. All in a day's work.
