The Official FR/LG Recent Happenings Thread - Fresh Edition

I had started my LG game but didn't report anything of the adventures, let's give this a go with a quick summary:
-Picked Squirtle
-Beat Pewter City Gym and Cerulean City Gym
-Made my way to Vermillion City
Now, so far:
-Going to try running a Farfetch'd(!) on my team
-Pretty sure i'll catch a Diglett for Vermillion City Gym
I'll toss this up to you guys and decide what to use later on:
Paras/Parasect vs Bellsprout/Weepingbell/Victrebell and Mr.Mime vs Drowzee/Hypno

Simply put, I'm fickle.

I decided yet again to change my random encounter target, this time on both FR and LG. I'm abandoning my Heracross hunt and my Vulpix hunt for now. Instead, I'm going for a much more special target...I don't want to say what it is at the moment, but let's just say that there's a decent chance that I might not get the particular shiny that I want. However, seeing as how my next shiny will be my 40th shiny, I'm really hoping my luck pulls through.

Annoyed myself in the Safari Zone, before dealing with Silph Co. and Erika's gym. Now once I get my hands on the Fuschia badge, the Surfing world is my oyster, so a greater dex I shall have soon enough.

Going through FireRed once more. With several rules:

Catch every Pokemon you can in Pokeballs/Safari Balls
Don't let anything evolve
Put Battle Mode to Set
Don't use items whilst battling, excluding held items

^ Is also part of this challenge, although im sticking to the ORIGINAL *hinthint* rules, in that I can evolve, but only once they have reached double the level of evolution (So Pidgey cant evolve till Lvl 36 etc)

That being said, Im now at Cinnibar, preparing to challenge Blaine's gym.

I was also lucky enough to find a Shiny Spearow by Cerulean City, but chose not to use it as I always use Fearow.

Remember how I said I was fickle? Yeah, I wasn't kidding.

Shortly after I decided to hunt for Vulpix, I changed my hunt again, this time to a secret target. I got 150 encounters for it until I decided to begin hunting for Paras AGAIN. That's what I've been doing for the past day and a half, and I brought my total up to a whopping 20,020 encounters for it. Now I'm taking a true hiatus from Paras because I just think I'm putting too much effort into shiny Paras. It doesn't even look that nice, after all!

So, I'm resuming my hunt for Heracross. I have 3500 encounters for it. Please wish me luck.

Today on LeafGreen:

-I started playing from Saffron City where I was trying to hatch an Egg I got on Four Island. I don't remember what it is supposed to be but I think it's Gulpin.
-Went to Cycling Road to hatch it and ran into a Biker I forgot to battle back when iI got the game ><
-He used Muk which I decided to counter with my Lapras. It was untrained apparently, something I caught in Icefall Cave. I used Sheer Cold but it missed, Muk used Minimize. It's Evasiveness rose. Lapras used Ice Beam which ACTUALLY hit! Won experience points.
-Went to Celadon and rode around on my bike to hatch the egg when suddenly, it does. It was a Wynaut. I deposited it and withdrew Mewtwo. I figure I'll battle the Elite Four again. Saved.

I haven't beat the Elit Four because I had a glitch and had to start again. I have all eight badges at the moment and I can't beat the Elite Four!!! I need to know what a good party would be to battle them. If this helps my starter was Bulbasaur and it is now a Lv 96 Venusaur. I'm really confused...

OMG! So much has happened. After deciding against adding a Scyther to my flying type mono challenge I was stuck for ideas for a fifth team member as I couldn't get Aerodactyl until I beat Koga. Well after realising that I didn't necessarily need a flying type just a Pokemon that flies I headed into the Safari Zone and caught me a ... Venemoth! Yeah! It was about level 35 and swept Koga's entire team with Psychic and Stun Spore.

So I was able to use Surf so I headed to Cinnabar Island avoiding all trainers and revived my old amber to get me a female Aerodactyl. Shame it was level 5 but I trained it hard and eventually brought it into Sabrina's gym to battle all the psychic's there. It must have been quite embarassing for Sabrina as a level 32 Aerodactyl took down her Kadabra, Mr. Mime and Alakazam. I just couldn't get that Venemoth as Mr. Mime had baton passed two barriers over to it.

Venemoth, despite being Adamant Natured, has a nasty psychic and Aerodactyl is a mean attacker, seriously consider adding one to your team I say.

I am currently owning the nooby trainers to the west of Fuschia City.

My team now consists of:

P.S. Where is the move re learner, I really want Silver Wind on Venemoth.

I'm training my team to beat my rival and the Elite Four as I started again I'm abit behind. My team now has:
-Venusaur
-Pidgeot
-Dragonair
-Arbok
-Growlithe
-Chansey

Here's how I got my party Pokemon:

Bulbasaur was my starter

Pidgey was my first catch

Dragonair was my first safari fished catch

Arbok and Growlithe were traded (for one of my Kinglers and Haunters)

Chansey was hard to catch! It was in the Safari Zone and as they are rare and hard to prevent from fleeing I was destined to catch one. I had wasted 29 Safari balls on other Chanseys and when I was going to give up hope I found a Chansey, threw bait then the ball and... SUCCESS!
I chose this party because each member has a special story of how we met and they are varied types with varied moves so I think I should win against the Elite Four.

Recently:

-I had fought the Elite Four but I noticed that I struggled a bit so I think I should train. The perfect spot would be the Sevii Islands.
-Flew to Vermilion and took a ride on the Seagallop. I decided to stop in Four Island first to deposit one of my Pokemon at the Day Care Center.
-Went to Icefall Cave and battled against Delibird, Dewgong, and Golbat. I gained enough experience to make my Zapdos and Moltres level up by two levels. My target is 4 levels at least.
-Went further in to the area with wild Lapras and encountered a level 52 Dewgong. Used Moltres' Overheat to beat it (Critical Hit)
-Found a wild Larpas and it KO'd my Zapdos with an Ice attack. I fled to heal my Pokemon before it's Happiness got lower.

After I bought a Rash Magikarp, I traded it to LG, and trained it there. Traded over a Sandshrew and a Vulpix, trained both to lvl 15. Got Gyarados back, and headed through Mt. Moon. Had a little trouble with Sandshrew and Vulpix not listening, but I finally made it out. Healed, raised them all to lvl 20, and hit the Gym. Ivysaur swept the trainers and Misty, OHKOing everything with Razor Leaf. Healed, saved, and then Sandshrew swept my rival Kevin. Made it across Nugget Bridge, and now I'm hunting for an Abra for a 6th member.

got bored in LG, so i decided to try a new theme: bears. It's a gay thing, look it up if you're curious. My six pokemon will reflect attributes and such of bears that I know(including me). I SR'ed for a good natured Squirtle, and after what seemed like forever, I got a Calm one(would have preferred Bold). I named him Buck, because he's bald-headed and has a soft side inside his rough exterior. If you know me, you know that I talk about Buck a lot. I asked my papa bear what Pokemon he would want me to raise based off him, and he wanted me to raise the one I hate the most... Pikachu. I agreed, but as soon as I get my hands on a Thunderstone, that rat's evolving. Named it, of course, Papa Bear. Hasty nature, and, of course, male. went through Viridian Forest, and dominated (lol). Now in Brock's Gym, and i just beat a kid who says it takes years for light to travel the same amount of distance that I can cover in two steps. Going to save and fight Brock.

EDIT: Just beat Brock pretty easily. Began with Papa Bear and switched to Buck, which OHKO'd Geodude with Bubble. Both went up a level. Repeated the process against Onix but with the newly-learned Water Gun. W00T!

Decided to restart LG again and pick pokemon i haven't really used before

Started with a Charmander (only exception to the rule since i needed a Flyer that wasn't Normal), leveled it up to learn Metal Claw and caught a Weedle. Decided to evolve it to Beedrill, might as well do as much damage as it could when I challenged Brock so Charmander can conserve its health.

Turns out when i challenged Brock, Charmander didn't have to do anything. Took long, but Beedrill solo'd Brock! Geodude mostly Defense Curled and sometimes Tackled while I used Harden until I maxed Defense. Then it was all Fury Attack and Poison Sting until Poison took it's toll. Onix was a bit harder to poison but thankfully it's attack was weak, even Rock Tomb did not do that much thanks to Harden

Went to Mt Moon to get a Geodude after (always wanted to use Golem). My team was very Misty weak but fortunately Beedrill pulled through again thanks to Twineedle (much better than what I thought, Beedrill rocks!) Also a bit lucky Starmie stupidly used Swift, even when i prepared myself for water Pulse's confusion with the Persim berry

Lt Surge was super easy with Golem and I decided to trade in Eevee while I was at it to train to Jolteon after the gym. Now currently skipping trainers so I don't overlevel and make pokemon not listen to me- I also want to rush through and get a Super Rod asap

After I get Heracross, I'm going to reset for another shiny Dratini on my FR/LG.

Just beat Koga. I hate when he poisons your team over and over! Anyway I have Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu, Snorlax level 50, and Venasaur level 55. Pretty happy with the game so far.

On LG: I played it a couple days ago so I could get some pokemon to send to my Pt to work on completing the pokedex.
