I've recently been looking into the Elder Scrolls series. I saw Skyrim at E3 and it looked great! I don't really know much about the ES series, so I just wanted to know what the ES series is about. Might not get Oblivion mainly because I just pre ordered Assassin's Creed: Revelations and the next time I'll get a couple of extra bucks for games and stuff is during the holidays. That's after Skyrims release, so should I just get Skyrim? Is ES one of those series that you have to play the previous one to understand the story?

    Please, fill me in.

Alright guys. I just got a PSP last week for my birthday, and I have my eye on Final Fantasy: Dissidia. Except I noticed there a new one out: Dissidia 012. Now, I've seen places it's a remake of the first game BUT it's also a prequel... can anyone tell me if it's safe to save my money and just buy Dissidia 012? Or should I also buy Dissidia as well. Please let me know.

Also, can anyone recommend any good PSP games? I'm an action/puzzle/survival horror/rpg type gamer. I already have Kingdom hearts: Birth By Sleep and The Legend of Heroes... but I'd really like to expand my collection. :3

Matt, as far as I know it's probably better to play the previous games. I do not play Elder Scrolls, but my brother is very into the franchise and plays it almost daily. Skyrim is the fifth game in the series. My brother own Oblivion and keeps mentioning how he wants the earlier games to understand certain points of the plot. But I get the feeling it's one of those games you can play with or without playing the others.

Thanks for the link and the awesome list... I've heard that hacking the PSP is a good idea, but never really knew what firmware to download, so I'll give this one a shot. (I'm so excited to see Nazi Zombies on there lol).

I've been looking at some of these titles already and I will get all of them eventually if I can. Thank you for your help

I just pre-ordered Battlefield 3 and Batman: Arkham City for the PS3. I hope BF3 doesn't bombed like what EA did with the new Medal of Honor.

Okay guise, my birthday's coming up in September. I have a PS3, and hopefully getting a 3DS for my birthday too. Any suggestions for either? Here's a list of what I have for PS3 already:

    AC: Brotherhood
GTAIV & Episodes from Liberty City
    LBP 1&2
    Red Dead Redemption
    L.A. Noire
    Civilization Revolution
CoD: World at War, MW2 & Black Ops (I don't ever play these though...)

Oh, and I can't download games. I have to go to the store like a loser.

It seems you like those third person games. Look into games like Batman: Arkham City or Assassin's Creed Revelation, InFamous 2. I don't know if your interested in Battlefield 3 or MW3 (which I'm not going to get).

I'm assuming you aren't into LittleBigPlanet? If you haven't tried it, by all means... DO get it! (or at least LBP2)

    I already have LBP & LBP2.

And I'd like recommendations of games that are already out.

Well, once I get a hard drive on Xbox, I'll probably get the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition since it's the most up-to-date version of that game, and I think it was just released here in NA. It's only $30, but I might just get Skyrim first since it's new and I also want to get another game (and I need a hard drive. I'll just see how much money have by the holidays. I might not get the older games because they're on older systems although the 3 installment might be on the 360 Marketplace, so I might look into that. Thanks for the help.

I'd say get him something New

he's playing too much Call of Duty... maybe branch out? How about getting him Fable 2 or 3? Maybe a strategy game like Starcraft 2?

Just a thought. Maybe he'll enjoy it!

(Geez... the PS3 has more variety in games... this is kinda hard!)

    Cave Story!

Great game, and free on the PC too.
(and yes, it has guns. But also a much more sophisticated story then "shoot Nazis, zombies, and Nazi zombies.)

More variety in games? I thought it was shock-full of CoD-like games. I say let him download old favorites in the PSN store like Final Fantasy games... Wait, chances are he doesn't like waiting for his turn to come up.

    This, this is rich!

    LittleBigPlanet 1+2
    Infamous 1+2
    Gran Tourismo
MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots
    Uncharted 1, 2 and 3
    Ratchet and Clank
    Sly Collection
    Fat Princess
MAG (Do NOT say its a COD clone, its basically an MMOFPS)
Best Version of PORTAL 2 for consoles
    PS2 HD collections
    God of War 1, 2 and 3
    Resistance 1, 2 and 3
    Wipeout HD
    Motorstorm Series
    Locoroco PS3
    Warhawk

And thats just what I have played...

There are also tons of RPG's and the like... that is true, but they aren't all the same ( Hey, Sony has always been that way )

And then there is ALL those PSOne classics...

So, what were you saying about the PS3? all of those games I mentioned except Portal 2 are exclusive

Been thinking about getting a game that will replace Pikmin 2 today when I have to return the game because of what happened to my gamecube memory slot A for my Wii over the weekend. The three games I was thinking about getting were Metroid Other M , Wario Land Shake It , and Portal 2. Been relly interested in Portal 2 since of how epic it looks. The only problem that I'm concerned about is that I might switch over to a Mac computer come Christmas time. Came close to getting Other M at the time of release except the fact that I couldn't get it because of the bug colored blood in the game. Also thought it would be a great deal cause that Gamestop has Other M for 20 dollars and that it's a new copy of the game. Was wondering what y'all would suggest on the matter.

I'd suggest Other M. If you can only play Portal 2 for the next six months, you might not want to get it. And Wario Land's...well, Wario Land.

I can still play the Wii though by the way. Gonna probably get Other M when I go back to Gamestop when I go to get the game that replaced my chance of playing Pikmin 2 over the summer. Decided that it would not be worth it to fix just one metal prong on the slot that would not recognize the game. Really wanted to play the game ( Other M ) when it was released back in the states last August. Thanks for the help by the way.

I've been debating on whether or not to get Ace Attorney Investigations, and I'm not sure if I should get it or not. I started playing the ace attorney series a few months ago and I really like the games but I was slightly disapointed with Apollo justice and I wasnt sure if investigations would be as good as the phoenix wright trillogy especially because there are no actual court phases.

So does anyone have an idea if I should get it or not?

Really wanted to play the game ( Other M ) when it was released back in the states last August. Thanks for the help by the way.
It's a great game, awesome tip of the hat to the classic Metroid. There are 2 things that I don't like about the game, Samus' reaction to Ridley (I know it seems more human but with her previous reactions to him) and this fatal glitch (if you're going to get the game watch it or else).

I've borrowed Wario Land Shake It from my friend (after I replayed and beat Wario Land 4) and I'm enjoying myself very much.

Now for my needs, anyone know of a good Virtual Console game (Wii or 3DS) that I should download?

The court phases don't mean a thing since the same thing (Rebuttals) happens in Investigations anyway. It is a much better entry to the Ace Attorney series judging it's a completely original title that stays faithful to the series unlike Apollo Justice which introduced a lot of new stuff.

Also, it's Edgeworth you're playing as. If you enjoyed his train of thoughts in the third game, you'll love this one a lot. Also, there's a demo download in the Wii's Nintendo Channel so you can test it out (if you have a Wii, that is).

Tea time during war is serious business, you know.
