Why should advanceshippers read fanfics?

Because they create moments that cannot happen in the anime. They obviously make Advanceshipping canon which every shipper wants. It gives you scenes and events that you will enjoy. It makes you happy if your reading something fluffy or sad when your reading something emotional or sad. Fanfics are a great part of any fandom and i honestly enjoy reading them when i get a chance. Of course you have to dig deep to really get the really good ones but when you find it, you normally go back for more because you enjoy how that author represents your ship.

3 options that may increase those chances
- Another world tournament but with more contestants that are from other regions
- RS remakes
- A reboot of Pokemon Chronicles

But above all else, I really don't mind May's absence... Surely she's a great character and she's one of my favorites but I still want to watch the show for the sake of Ash's quest.^^;

- She's nicer as much of us had to put up w/ Misty in the past furthermore she gets long w/ Ash (Dawn, yeah, gets along w/ Ash too but that's more of a different story a story where two long lost siblings are reunited *shot*
- She's always the one who calms Ash down whenever he gets little hot headed.xD
- Her novice state as a beginner trainer influenced Ash to take a role of being her mentor.8D

That's a little harsh. xD I think a few reasons May could return would be

-When R/S/E are remade.
-Another World Tournment to showcase the Hoenn region Pokemon
-Prehapes a reunion at Pallet??

They just have so much in common. Plus they seem to work together really well. When it comes to bickering and arguing they didn't do it as much such as Misty or Iris? (unsure). they just fit, their chemistry, their moments just seemed perfect and if you replaced that scene with another characther to me, would not feel right.

World Tournament is a possibility, but a Pallet Town reunion probably won't happen, considering GameFreak tries its best to roll out new female characters every new region and only bringing back the others once.

May is definitely the one Ash fought the least with. Misty and Ash fought almost constantly, Dawn and him fought a lot too, and same with Iris. May and Ash share a lot of common interests (especially food!) and they did have a strong emotional bond that was clearly visible throughout the Hoenn region episodes.

Well, the only real reason would be that (get ready for rage) ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE FORMER, PRESENT, OR FUTURE FANBASE! AS LONG AS PEOPLE KEEP WATCHING THE ANIME, THEY GET MONEY! (now rage is over) But yeah, they really should bring back a lot of older characters, i mean why not? It's not like 5 year old kids wouldn't understand. All they do is play COD anyway :P.

But remember this is our universe. If string theory is correct, then there could be another universe out there where AdvanceShipping is Canon!

Both May and Ash has great chemistry together. They both were there for each other through Pokemon Battles, Contest, Gym Challenges, Elite 4, and Battle Frontier. In the movie it does prove that Ash liked May. It also showed in that epic Poke Contests that they had with each other.

My response to your rant: Okay first things first, Game Freak are those who makes the games, they don't have anything to do w/ the anime apart from influencing the writers to advertise them presented w/ an exception of Ken Sugimori making some artwork of the anime characters for the sixth movie. Okay since we got that done, the anime staff doesn't give a hoot on what we say...esp. from a forums site. They don't need anyone's opinion, esp. a fan from another country, to tell them on what they should and should not do. Our ideas are really different from one person to another and it will cause problems for the show's purpose to make things like the characters simple.... Honestly, no matter what we do, whether signing a petition with 1,000,000,000 signatures or protesting in front of their doors, they don't care what we say or think. They don't really care about the anime either, like tomboyTrainer said, it is only an advertisement for the games, where they make their real money... Someone should make another one of those Youtube-fan-made AdvanceShipping scenes (give copyright credit to Nintendo to avoid lawsuits) and make AdvanceShipping REALLY come to life once again (haven't seen too many new ones like that)... I'd do that, if I had the resources to. xD

May and Ash together in another Adv.Shipping flick on Youtube.... Sounds fun, maybe a little old, but we do love our AdvanceShipping.

Well they want to appeal to a new audience so for that to happen they have to make a new character. Hopefully after HG/SS they learnt that with a remake people prefer the same characters just with a new makeover. I mean the outrage with Kris being replaced with Lyra was huge. GameFreak know that the old fans won't be able to buy every single main series game they make so they have to change things to make it appeal to new fans so replacing May with another female character would probably the only reason that i see fit to replace her. But the rage will follow if they do so.

But surly they must be tried of making one-shot characters (ex: Lyra, Angie.) because they would have to introduce them in the anime, give a back story and make them a friend etc. It's hard work so i believe they won't replace May but maybe give her a new outfit or hairstyle. so i have hope she won't be replaced.

There are many many different departments in the Pokemon fanchise. We have one for the games, anime, manga, merchindise, TCG (cards). GameFreak makes the games but that is how far they go. A whole different department is in charge of the anime. They do their best to merge as much as the game into the anime and the manga department try their best to merge what happens in the game into their story.

The fact that they need to advertise new games by representing the characters from the games in the anime. Happened with Misty in OS, May in AG, Dawn in DP, and Iris in BW.

It's sad, but May's return may be awhile from now, if at all. Too bad shipping can't be canon.

A bigger group won't change anything, and they could still add in the newer games female character to represent it.

Well the writers don't have to make almost everyone travel in a group That's for Digimon but it moreso depends if they have the time to give each individual a cameo. Unless we either see them watching Ash's battle at the league from their TV or have a Pallet reunion when Ash returns to Kanto then the fans would be really happy. Oh and a Chronicles is much needed since the fan's jimmies can be spared...

I think if an RS remake did exist then I don't know if they're gonna bring May back to advertise it or advertise them w/hout her and instead give Ash's travel companions a Hoenn Pokemon, esp. a starters.:P If ships do become canon then alot of ppl's (opposing shippers/non-shippers) jimmies would be rustled...D:
