What keeps you playing the 3rd Generation?

I do it because I always have this notion to play every game in canon order (FRLG, RSE, HGSS, DPPt, BW, BW2), and since X & Y are coming out, I'm working on my pre-X team (check FRLG Recent Happenings Thread to see how it's going!)

3rd Gen is the one that I started with, so it holds a special place in my hard, and it's just so nostalgic, that it's easy to come back to it every now and then.

Emerald was (is) probably my favorite game - some of the best pokemon I have now either came from my emerald teams or were bred on that cartridge. I wasn't really old enough to understand what was going on in Gold/Red and Yellow, so Sapphire was the first time I understood the story and everything. And Emerald was just.. better than Sapphire. xD So lots and lots of nostalgia there.
