Default Official PBR FAQ / Help / Question Thread

    To help out SoW/Volteon.

All right, this thread is for small questions for PBR. Don't post the same question over and over again if you haven't gotten an answer, don't answer someone's post if you don't know the answer, and don't answer questions that have already gotten a (correct) answer.

FAQ(credit to Gamefaqs for the questions/answers)
Q: How many Colosseums are there?
    A: 10, plus 1 DS only Colosseum.

Q: What can you do in WiFi if you don't have friend codes?
A: You can battle against a random person, but your name or catchphrases won't be shown to protect your privacy.

Q: Why do all the Colosseums have different battle styles?
A: To test you strategizing skills, and to challenge you more.

    Q: Can I still use a rental pass if I have a D/P game?
A: Yes, you can. You actually have to use a rental pass for the first Colosseum.

Q: Can you have a two player battle without a DS?
A: Yes, you can. Select Battle from the main Colossuem menu, then select Free Battle. From there, choose your game options.

Q: I heard that you can rent Pokemon. Can you rent all 493?
A: No, you can't. You can rent 6 Battle Passes, each with different Pokemon.

Q: Can you use all 493 Pokemon?
A: Yes, you can use all pokemon.

Q: I heard that you can get Pikachu, Magmortar, & Electivire thru Mystery Gift. I have only got Pikachu. How do you get the others? (credit to the main site for the answer)
A: To get Electivire, enter this for your self-introduction:
    BA16-X4SH-E2AT
    To get Magmortar, enter this:
    B416-X4HT-VTWF
Note: These are the United States codes. Here are the codes for other countries:
    UK-
    Electivire: tko3-9jwp-34kl//Magmortar: jl49-05kn-odnv
    France-
    Electivire: jk4i-df87-dsf9//Magmortar: 13io-h4rf-1tpa
    Spain-
    Electivire: 04in-1ynj-24fv//Magmortar: kn34-q0uc-1mbx
    Germany-
    Electivire: 0f9-ud0g-ughj//Magmortar: kre9-ef90-5hgn
    Italy-
    Electivire: t4oi-6j8d-sb5r//Magmortar: 97ea-78hl-jrgu
    You can get both.
Note that these are not available in the Japanese version of PBR. You can only get Pikachu from there.

Q: Can you transfer Pokemon back to your DS after transferring them to Wii?
A: There is no need. The Pokemon you transfer are only copies of your Pokemon, so you still have the actual Pokemon on your DS game.

Q: When I transfer my Pokemon to PBR, they turn into bad eggs. Why does this keep happening?
A: Their EVs are hacked. Any Pokemon with hacked EVs that are impossible to achieve in the actual game legally turn into bad eggs when you transfer them.

Q: Do you have to spend PokeCoupons to change skin color?
A: No, you can change that for free when you edit your Custom Pass.

Little Miss Stalinist/Secret Al-Qaeda agents (i.e. Ellie) would be a ***** even if she was a conserative republican. What makes her the way she is happens to be the fact that the webmaster of this site let's her behave like this. (Of course, I would never make a liberal a staff member at any forum I'd be in charge of, regardless.)

You should probably note that those are the North American codes, and maybe add the other codes.

Great FAQ. Look out for my unlockables thread. ;o

Err, I hope I'm allowed to post here. I have some questions about mystery gift and linking to the DS games.

-I know you can only get one of each Pokemon from Mystery Gift. Can you also only get one of each item?

-Can you use the Mystery Gift option to give items to a DS game that is not the one linked to your current save file?

-Can you change the DS game you have linked to PBR and keep your coupons/points? (Aka, without starting a new save file)

    Not sure.

    Yes.

I've tried copying my Pearl copy on to my PBR save file with my Diamond Pokes; I got a message saying it has to be the last DS Pokemon game I connected with. So, no.

Hey now here are some questions I'd like to get answered and maybe they're good enough to be put in the list... :P

Q: Can you upload more than one Battle Pass per DS game? If so can you use those 2 Battle Passes from the same game to battle (2 player)?

Q: Can you upload teams from more than one Diamond or Pearl game?

Q: Can you battle between different Battle Passes in different files?

You don't upload the battle passes, you upload the Pokémon and put them on your Custom Passes.

Q: Can you upload teams from more than one Diamond or Pearl game?
In one save file? No. And like I said, you upload Pokémon.

Q: Can you battle between different Battle Passes in different files?
    No.

    Ok then so...

Q: Can you create more than one custom Battle Pass in one file?

If you don't understand the question, my brother doesn't own a game but we've raised his team on my Pearl. Would he be able to use it against me at all? If he can, how? Should we borrow someone else's game to upload his team?

It looks like the only other way you two can battle is if you brother battles you on Wi-Fi on someone else's PBR, or if he gets his own D/P.

So you can't battle against battle passes in 2 player, even in the same file?? =/ That kinda sucks...

I supose you could migrate/trade a few pokemon and copy them to a single save file on pbr,
or unless I dont remember correctly, you can have two save files in pbr, one for you and one for your brother, and you can upload a pass from one into a wiimote. Please correct me if I am wrong though, as I dont quite remember if it is possible or I just imagined it.

Also, you can always battle with the DS vs DS mode (if each of you have your own DS)
    no battle pass

    Ah, I misread that part.

Then I remember you can put 2 players to battle with different passes on the same save file. That's an option in normal gameplay.
You can battle against AI and give AI a pass of your chosing ( do that sometimes to try and see if I can beat some guys I have exchanged passes with, or to see if I can beat my own passes), or it can be two players.
I did it only once, but I remember it is possible.

    OK then, thanks!

Also, is there a way to battle not using the DS nor the pointer in 2 player mode (so the other guy won't see which attack I'm choosing, like PKMN Stadium more or less)??

Vs, Battle... Some way in which I don't have to especifically point at the move with the Wii Remote and choose it so the opponent won't know what I'll do next.

Well, given how the wii is connected to only one screen... just take turns to close eyes.
Or play wifi as some have said already, but that would require two wiis, two copies of the game and probably two internet connections.

in 2p vs battle, it shows all the moves of the pokes on the screen. It's a pain <_< I don't mean like, the 4 buttons you normally see. I mean, both sides have a grid of 6 buttons showing which you push for each attack, switch, and give up.

You'd have to DS battle if you don't want to see eachothers movesets...

Also, I do recall there being a way to save passes to your wiimote and move them to other files, probably like a friends pass. Never tried it myself though.

Really? so you get a grid of 12 bottons, 6 in each half of the screen?
I though each player took a turn to pick moves.

So, does that mean you can't play 2p vs mode with only one wiimote? I seem to remember that being posible

You can, but like I said it shows stuff on the screen you wouldn't really want your opponent to see. Especially since the menu changes if you go to select a switch, giving away you are switching...

I am just trying it, and you don't need to use the pointer at all, and as all options are displayed all the time, so you can't see what the other did, even if he's switching pokemon.

Only down is that you get to see at each other available moves, and the layout can be confusing at first. But then, they are even... Or

...like I said before, just turns to close eyes, or mind something else while the other poke's moves are being displayed, they've got only one game, so there seems to be no other way.
