Next Pokémon Thread V2 ~ AKA The Freakin' Capture Thread

Anyways, this thread is for speculation on what pokémon the main characters will catch next (minus Team Rocket - they have their own thread) as well what their teams will be at the end of whatever region, in this case, Sinnoh.

Remember that your opinion =/= fact (what you think someone will catch =/= actually happening), and we'll be fine. Remember to give reasons why you think said-character will catch whatever pokémon as well, otherwise you will be infracted for spam.

This is the Animé Spoilers forum, which means when posting in this thread, take everyone's UPDATED team into consideration when posting - if you only know what the teams are in the dub as of now then you should not be posting here.

This is the post I made in the old thread ^^. Since I don't post my predictions every three days, like other members do, I just stick with one post, until a Pokémon in the Animé is captured or until something really big makes me want to change my predictions x33333~.

• Pikachu: Well, he's (assuming he's a male) Ash's starter. x:
• Staraptor: I can see Staravia evolving, honestly. <~
• Grotle: Same thing for this pupu over here. <3
• Buizel: Don't evolve, please. You're already fine like this. No need to evolve to get stronger. :3
• Infernape: Okay, well this monkey wants to show off. It wants to prove that it can be strong and all that.
• Gliscor: Well, obviously. --;
• Gible: :/ Last Pokémon captured in Sinnoh, for Ash. It's ugly, I know, but still.

• Piplup: It's her starter. :l
• Lopunny: I want to see Lopunny ^^. I want to see how she'll interact with other Pokémon.
• Pachirisu: It can stay as long as it starts doing something.
• Mamoswine: I can see it evoling all the way. C:
• 5th Generation Pokémon: Misty had Togepi, May had Munchlax... Pattern, maybe? o:

She'll stick with five Pokémon, obviously.

• Sudowoodo: One more season, and hop, at the Pewter Gym.
• Croagunk: If Brock doesn't find another ear-puller, that frog's staying.
• Hippopotas: Another random guess. D:

Predictions:


Ash:



Pikachu - Duh. Isn't going anywhere. Ever.

Staraptor - Every regional Flying Type Ash has gotten has become its inal form. Plus Starly wouldn't have evolved so early on if it wasn't going to evolve.

Turtwig/Grotle - It'd be cool if Ash got a Grotle, but lately I've been thinking that Turtwig would still be cool if it didn;t evolve. So it's a toss up.

Infernape - I totally want this to happen. I can see Chimchar evolving and showing Paul that friendship is better then harshness. Although... I'm getting scared that the writers might not evolve him at all... Please don't do that writers! Please!

Floatzel - It loves power. People say it's like Bulbasaur, but I think it is more like Treecko. I can hopefully see it evolving and breaking the streak of non-evolving Water types.

Gliscor - Has already evolved, and it hopefully won't be going anywhere.


Delia'd:

Riolu - When training on Iron Siland, Ash recieved a Riolu Egg, but his team was full, and he didn;t want to stop training any of his current Pokemon, so he called his mom, and he and Mimey were delighted to be asked to take care of the Egg. When his mother came to the League with Oak to watch Ash, Riolu hatched and aw Ash then Delia.



Dawn:


Prinplup - I think it'll evolve out of pride. It'll be against Kenny in the GF and it is Piplup and Mamoswine versus Empoleon(Kenny's) and Luxio. Mamoswine defeats Luxio, but Piplup has been in a rut since he thinks since Buneary, Aipom, and Swinub and Piloswine all evolved and are strong, he will fail Dawn, so he stops battling and ignore Dawn. Then Empoleon knocks out Mamoswine with his Brine attack. Then it is the Piplup wo is ignoring Dawn vs. Kenny's Empoleon. Meowth and James and Jessie(who just won her match) are watching on the sidelines, and Meowth is translating what he is saying while Danw is trying to snap Piplup out of it. Dawn hen gets really quiet and tells Piplup that no matter what happens here, she will love it. A montage of their times together flashes accross the screen faintly as Piplup looks up at Dawn, and gets a determined look in his eyes. Meowth translates and Piplup said he believes in himself now and won't let Dawn down(the whole while getting attacked by Empoleon). He glows and evolves and proceeds to beat Empoleon, sorta like in the Floaroma Town Contest...

Lopunny - The signs are there, she and Dawn are close, Ash has two Soothe Bells, and Lopunny seems like an awesome Pokemon for Dawn to have for Contests.

Pachirisu - Can't evolve, but I DO want Dawn to us it more.

Ambipom - Can't evolve, but I think that after Dawn leaves Ash, she'll leave Ambipom with Professor Oak. Well, either after the filler saga, or after Sinnoh.

Mamoswine - They wouldn't of given her Swinub when it has a fourth gen evo if they didn't plan on evolving it. I want to see it help do an appeal in the GF. :P

Houndour - Dawn will hatch it from an Egg, and it''ll be a loyal Pokemon to her. Just like a puppy...


Brock:


Sudowoodo - He's here for the remainder of Sinnoh, thn it goes to the Gym...

Croagunk - I'm not sure it'll evolve. Seem like it may be overkill for when it Poison Jabs Brock.

Happiny/Chansey - I'm torn between having Happiny stay Supergirl, and having it evolve to be Brock's Breeder proof, like Sudowoodo.

Tangrowth - One word: Nanny. It would be a nanny to the babies of the group: Happiny, Houndour, and Magby/?, and maybe during the league Riolu.

Magby/? - or another baby to how he can take care of more than one baby at a time. Plus, I could see him with a Magby before Paul got a Magmar. I have a plot for him to get one too... And if not Magby, some other one. Maybe Mantyke, but idk...



May:



Blaziken - already has.

Wartortle - Ditto.

Skitty - Ditto.

Venusaur - Sadly, ditto. I never wanted her to get a Venusaur, Ivysaur, sure,
but Venusaur? Poor Ash's Bulba...

Munchax - Already has.

Beautifly - Ditto.

Glaceon - Ditto.

Flaaffy - I can se her raising a shy Mareep in Johto and it evlving and gaining some confidence.

Shuckle - To help with Poffin/Pokeblock. Plus it'd be interesting to see her with one.



Zoey:



Glameow/Purugly - I'm not sure if I can see it evolving...

Mismagius - It has to evolve, plus we need reassurance it still exist. Same with Pachirisu...

Gastrodon - I think it'll evolve. Idk why, but still.

Finneon - I think it'll evolve in a filler saga. Sorry Vavavoom. Lol.

Ledian - Courtesy of Pokeliam. I can see her wanting to get a bug type after seeing May's Beautifly, and Ledian fits the bill.



Kenny:


Empoleon - So Piplup can evolve.

Alakazam - Can't evolve.

Breloom - Same.

Luxio - Fits him.

Lickilicky - Ditto.




Nando:



Roserade - Same as with Swinub.

Kricketune - Can't evolve any more.

Sunflora - Same.

Exploud - Fits his sound theme.

Some other Pokemon. Maybe two more.




Paul:



Toterra - Starter and powerful. Combats Turtwig.

Honchkrow - Has evolved, is powerful. Combat's Staraptor.

Electivire - Will definitely evolve, combat Pikachu.

Magmortar - Will evolve definitely. Combats INFERNAPE in the league. Get owned.

Weavile - Already has, seems strong. Combats Floatzel/

Gliscor/Ursaring/Rhyperior - To combat Gliscor in the League.



Misty:



All of her currents, plus Shellos East/Mantyke/Both, and has Togekiss under released.


Conway:



Slowking - Because.

Aggron - "

Heracross - "

Dusknoir - Because I think he'll want one after the upcoming episode.

And 2 others.

- Pikachu: His starter that will never evolve or leave
- Monferno: I think Staravia needs to evolve all the way first and Turtwig should evolve to. With Chimchar, Staravia and Turtwig evolving I don't see them squeezing in a 4th evolution during Sinnoh
- Grotle: Just so that Turtwig isn't a Bulbasaur clone and doesn't end up rejected like Cyndaquil and Totodile
- Buizel: It beat its evolution proving its stronger than it. Of all of Ash's pokemon Buizel's the last one that needs to evolve
- Staraptor: Ash always gets the fully evolved regional bird. Starly evolved suspiciously early
- Gliscor: Done, it will have its run in Sinnoh but probably get Oaked afterwards
- Riolu: There are just too many obvious things pointing towards Ash getting Riolu. I think Ash will get one more pokemon in Sinnoh since he completed his team before he even got his 3rd badge and the only one that fits is Riolu

Dawn:



- Prinplup: It being out of its pokeball doesn't mean it won't evolve the writers probably just want to give it a lot of screen time.
- Buneary: Don't think it will evolve; Dawn has a fully evolved normal type with her
- Ambipom: Done. It will get its fair share of screen time in Sinnoh
- Pachirisu: Can't really say much here
- Mamoswine: The only reason Dawn's Swinub exists in the anime. They will probably rush its evolution
- Cherrim: Small, cute, contesy


Brock:


- Sudowoodo: Will stay but probably get left at the Pewter Gym after Sinnoh. Being a Johto pokemon and the one who was on Brock's team the longest will probably get it booted
- Happiny: I do think it will evolve but not in Sinnoh. They will more than likely want to keep it a baby for a while and show off the 4th gen. pokemon
- Croagunk: Don't see it evolving. It may even be brought to the 5th gen.
- Tangrowth: Caught as a Tangela that evolves quickly

Paul:


- Electivire: Paul likes powerhouse pokemon and Electabuzz just happens to have a Sinnoh Evolution that is a powerhouse.
- Magmortar: Same as Electivire
- Rhyperior: Same as Electivire and Magmortar. I can see Rhyperior taking Gliscors place because Ash's defeats it
- Honchkrow: Done
- Weavile: Done..wonder why they didn't start it out as a Sneasle..
- Ursaring: Done
- Torterra: His starter and probably strongest pokemon; its not going anywhere

Zoey:

do y'all think Tracey will ever evolve or change one of his Pokemon? I'm not sure Venonat would evolve... Maybe Scyther was going to, but then they brought back Brock... He should have been caught a Smeargle though.

I agree about Ambipom; they don't really seem to release pokemon anymore(except TR and Paul)

If Tracey ever catches anything I want it to be a Smeargle. I doubt he will ever change his team though

It'd be pretty boring if Dawn would only catch five Pokémon... <~ That's why I see Ambipom leaving. ;_; She just looks like the kind of creature that'd go off and live with other Pokémon. That's probably just me, though. ":l

They don't really HAVE to handel Dawn's team exactly like Mays.

May got 7 pokemon in her run but only had 5 pokemon on her team at a time. Dawn can catch 7 aswell but have 6 on her team during Sinnoh and 5 during a filler arc

I'm proud to be on the first page of this new thread!

Here are the teams at the end of the Sinnoh League:

Ash
- Oh of course
- Ash always gets the Fully Evolved Bird, and Staravia expressed interest in Reggie's
- No reason to evolve, and someone needs to stay unevolved. Also its speed has been emphasized, and theres no need to make it slow.
- Hopefully it evolves all the way and teaches Paul a lesson. I think Monferno may evolve in the league battle vs Paul. I really dont want it to stay as a Chimchar and beat Paul like that, but I hope not.
- It may evolve, but I hope it stays the same and becomes friends with Turtwig (like Bulba and Squirtle)
- Already done, and will prob. stay on the team.
- Gets as an egg from Riley, maybe Shiny, and will be rotated with Glisor and Staraptor for the last 3 gyms.

Ash's Next

Monferno: I see Chimchar evolving next, before any of Ash's other pokemon.
Hippopotas: Ash loves this guy, and he was brought back. Both times he was seen Ash was in/around Hearthome, and Ash is returning. COME ON ASH! DO THE RIGHT THING!
Dawn's Next

Mamoswine: I am excited for Mamoswine. Logically, Lopunny will come first, just having more experience and liking Dawn a lot. But I REALLY want Mamoswine to come already. I dont think there will be much time between the evolutions to Piloswine and to Mamoswine, since it learns Anceint Power realtively quickly.
Brock's Next

Chansey: As much as I would love for Happiny to stay forever, Brock has shown with Bonsly that he can raise baby pokemon well. It is inevitable that she will evolve.
Kirlia: This goes with the popular theory that all of the main cast will get new-evo pokemon. This Kirlia will evolve into Gallade. This has no logical explanation, with no ideas from "Brock's Character." I just like Gallade and think that Brock would use a fighting pokemon well.

I'm still skeptical of the futures of Turtwig and Chimchar, both of them have so many expectations yet here we are in the middle of the region and neither one has shown signs of evolving in sight.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if they focused on the other pokemon in evolution terms and cheated them out of it.

I'm still skeptical of the futures of Turtwig and Chimchar, both of them have so many expectations yet here we are in the middle of the region and neither one has shown signs of evolving in sight.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if they focused on the other pokemon in evolution terms and cheated them out of it.

After seeing Brock with a Magnemite in DP 88, I am sorta thinking that he may catch one. Afterall its final evolution is a new pokemon that's yet to be showcased, and although Brock has had a Steel-Type before, he has never had an Electric-Type, so it would be something new for him. I mean, I just thought Brock and Magnemite went really well together, like when he shined it.
