Platinum Help Thread.

Apparently, the event that you activate via WiFi in Platinum can unlock it, according to Coronis.
However, apparently it isn't unlocked by regular shaymin obtained @ flower paradise in d/p, iirc.


Err, yes, they will hold WiFi events in other countries, but ..like, if they have a wifi event going on for say.. Japanese Platinum, it won't apply to copies of English Platinum.
So many people think that's true. :[

I know. Actually, I didn't know anyone here thought that. Must not have read that part. Anyway, If the Japanese events worked on different language games, there wouldn't really be any need to have the events in other countries. Even if that were possible, though, it's probably better this way, because of different release dates for the game and such.

the gym leaders at the top trainer cafe (now Battleground) are battled only one time? or more than one

^^ More then once. However I am not sure if after you challange them X times they will no longer battle you.

Another question(s)
1. What is the Time Limit in the Wi-fi Plaza?
2. I was lurking around the Platinum Wi-fi subforum and it had the mini-games. Do you have to go into the Wi-fi Plaza to do this or is it in the union room?
3. Can you choose who you want in the Wi-fi plaza (Connect with friends) or is it all random all the time?

I've traded non-Sinnoh Pokemon from my completed-Diamond to my restarted-Pearl, so I think it's safe to say you could also do that with Platinum and a copy of D/P. You'd probably be able to trade eggs too, but I don't have any experience with that.

once you trade them over like that, would the info say 'link trade'? i've only dealt with wifi and gts trades, so not sure how that would be displayed, seeing as how the ds doesnt actually use link cables and such... .__>

It's like Fire Red and Leaf Green, where you go in the wireless union room to interact with a player within a certain distance of you.
You choose trade, choose the pokemon you're going to trade, watch the cutscene, and bam you have yourself a pokemon.

The info wont say link traded, it will just say it's usual stuff on how it was obtained. "Apparently hatched at..." or "Apparently met at...", so on and so forth.
The OT will be the person you traded with unless it's a egg. If it's a egg, I believe it hatches with you as the OT so long as you hatch it. Correct?

Pokemon that aren't in the sinnoh dex will just show up with the pokedex number as "???". They wont be logged in the pokedex until you get the national dex. But you can still trade them over, of course.

I hope I understood you correctly.

If a Pokemon is traded, the info has the other trainer's name under "OT" and their trainer ID where it says "ID No." instead of yours. Also, instead of saying something like "Route 208, Met at Lv. 47" or "Solaceon Town, Egg Hatched" it'll say "Apparently Met at Lv. 47" or "Egg Apparently Hatched".

oh, i see, would the same be true with pal park then, if you pal park a pokemon from lets say emerald to diamond, and then trade it from said diamond to platinum, it would still say pal park?

It say the region it's from and the level it arrived, regardless if it's trading between D/P/P copies.

1) ~20 mins. As for per day. I've only had it not let me in if I quit early, cause it sent me to an empty roon.
2) You can do the mini games with friends, in the "friends roon" (basically they changed the friends list you see in D/P to a room with sprites)
3) No, the wifi plazas are all random. Like I just said, you can do mini games with friends by inviting them in the friends room.

What bugs me about the new GTS: When you upload a box of pokes to show off, it only displays the box with their sprites. No summaries, and all names are set to the language of the game. Sadness, since my box of shiny floatzel I gathered over the past few months will just look like a box of all the same poke :/

And to answer further up: you can battle each trainer in the cafe once a day. They change at 0:00, and what oens are there depend on what furniture you have bought for the resort house, supposedly.
