Post Pokémon, the adult anime on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim?

Hey, guys. I'm just wondering why they'll never be any Pokémon adult anime to be broadcast by the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim?

Pokemon isn't intended for mature audiences. Infact, they made it so that it appeals to seven year olds. You think it'll be on adult swim? If that ever happens, I'll give all my Pokemon to the government. =P

It would be awesome to make a more realistic, mature Pokemon. I am not saying to have pokemon die and stuff, but I think it would be great to have a much more mature storyline, voices, and stories.

Never. Because Pokemon, both as a franchise and specifically as an anime, is intended for a very young ages 7-12 male demographic.

Seriously, the "edgiest" episodes of Pokemon are some of the early slapstick humor in VERY early Kanto (Misty's mallot, the Bazooka use in Bill's episode, the gun use in the Safari episode) and some implied adult humor. Beyond very early Kanto, the most edgy stuff is kind of how crazy Cyrus gets and...that's about it. Pokemon isn't going to be on adult swim because that isn't the type of anime it is.

Probably because it's a Japanese series and they'd never make an anime with the specific intention of showing it solely on an American or European channel.

Depending on what you mean by 'adult', i'll assume you mean just a more mature and more violent version of the show.

Yeah I would like to see how that would work, having emotion, action and such in a much more dramatic style.

It won't happen though, Pokemon is for kids, and most likely always will be.

Pokemon is intended for children, always has been, and always will be. If you want mature themes in pokemon, head for the fan fic section and find one that strikes your fancy.

I like the idea. They might make Paul start swearing in the japanese dub version if that happened. Maybe even have Team Plasma appear like they had supposed to. I can dream, can't I?

I don't think it would happen, Pokemon seems to be popular with younger people.

I doubt this would ever happen, and I really wouldn't want it to happen. Actually, I just like the show because it is cute, and uplifting ^^; I don't like much adult humor (well some at times, but I can't stand too much)

Why would they put an anime on at 1 AM when their target audience goes to bed at 9 PM?

Pokemon aired at the perfect time for over a decade on Kids WB. An episode showed before elementary school kids went to school (7 am), when they came home from school (3 PM), and the newest episodes aired in the middle of a Saturday Morning (10 AM). It was so successful that CN mirrored the schedule for some time and run a similar schedule even today.

What, like violence, sexual situations and, worst of all according to OP, naughty language? Unless this involves Ghetsis > N, then no, fock that.

I doubt it, as its kind of hard to take a yellow mouse with red cheeks that can attack with electricity seriously... It wouldn't also feel right to hear Ash cursing or get any details on how Pokemon breed...

And, what happens if the English-dubbed Pokémon anime broadcasted by the United States contains mild curse words, such as "damn" "pissed off" or "hell", like the other TV-Y7-rated TV programs do until the year 2003?

Lol. Why do people instantly thing adult= sexual innuendo, swearing, death, blood and gore?

I personally want an adult take on Pokemon. Adult as in mature storytelling that doesn't take it's audience as stupid like the current anime does. (Which you can't deny as the writers have even admitted to this to an extent. GS Ball anyone?)

I think a good example of a good mature take on Pokemon would be something on the same level as Avatar: The Last Airbender. Kid friendly, but didn't shy away from realism and didn't take it's audience for stupid.
