Depends what you consider as a filler episode, although I've done a quick count of them and I've come up with 23, which is not THAT much in my opinion.

I have around that number as well. Most episode are easy to tell whether they are filler or not, but some are kind of a POV thing.

It certainly depends on your definition, considering how I got around 30, and I didn't even include minor development or training episodes like "Like It or Lup It" or "Tears for Fears". Hence why calling an episode "pointless filler" is so skewed in this fanbase.

Also, I'm curious as to whether JJAB91 is able to go an entire post without mentioning Misty. In freakin' 2009, for that matter.

I read somewhere( I think in a thread in this forum) that someone on Bulbapedia was tracking the amount of fillers this saga, and there have only been 6 or 7.

That's probably because D/P had so many sidequests.

That's not true at all. There are at least 20. A filler episode is an episode with no captures, evolutions, releases, contests, gym battles, league battles, grand festivals, or significant character development. D/P does not have many fillers compared to the previous two series, but it have more then 7.

How long was Ash, Misty and Tracy in the Orange Islands? I figured about 3 months but in episode 117 when they get back to Pallet Ash gloats that he did better than Gary at the Indigo League yet Gary says that "...that was a long time ago Ash, I've become a better trainer since then" but 3 months isnt that long of a time.

The anime really doesn't have a set time line. But it's generally accepted among everyone that the Orange Islands saga spanned 4-8 months.

That's assuming it takes place at all. As far as I know, there is no announcement about what will happen after the Sinnoh League finished up.

Yes, and it's happened before. Oftentimes, these double airings come at the expense of a break. For example, we just had a break last week. Not to mention that one of this week's episode was a mere clip show, lessening the significance of a double airing greatly.

I fairly sure the Tracey clone appeared in "Tricks of the Trade" and was amongst a crowd of trainers who were admiring one of the group's Pokemon(Psyduck?). I recall seeing a picture around here somewhere, maybe in the episode's thread?

A) COTD = Character of the Day. In other words, a character that appears in only one episode.
B) Technically, zero. The characters have remained the same age throughout the entire series, meaning that anything you hear about how a character has mentioned how a year has passed or whatever is actually irrelevant.
