um is this possible. i am not accusing i am just askign a question. ok so it was my sub'd up bold uicune with 30 ivs in def and 31 iv's in hp' against his swampert. i calm minded and he cursed. i surfed and it did like 1/3 because of stealth rock. so i was like one really tough swampert. next he kills me with like 300 damage from one eq. yeah so i was like ok max att and max sp.Def .( btw my suciune has 252 def,252 hp,4 spD) then i send in choice banded heracross and that only did half. with 28 iv's in attack. and i used close combat. is that possible

im thinking the spread is 252 hp, 252 attack, with the 6 somewhere else.

with your suicune, against a swampert with neutral nature, and no special defence ivs, swampert takes at most 183. swamperts max hp is 404. the lower end of the calculation is about a third. so that seems correct.

then (idk what heras nature is but) jolly banded herracross, does around a half of swamperts health (impish, no defence evs) after a curse.

max attack swamperts earthquake after a curse does 145 - 170 on a suicune like yours. so if he got a critical hit, its most likely a ohko.

it is possible. this is also with only a guessed set of evs from me. so yeah, basically, the other battler could have spent many hours calculating what the evs, ivs and nature needs to be to get a swampert that was able to do that. im just going with a standard set. anyone with a brain can work something better out to give an advantage.

basically, if the swampert had this bad ev spread (with an impish nature and good ivs), you got 2 lowest damage variation, then he got a normal variation with a critical hit. unfair eh ?

#2 The weezing i got was from a trade, i didnt know it was hacked until after, anyways it still has Legit moveset, legit stats, and legit IVs

#1 Your kabutops had ivs ranging from 20-30 and a perfect attack iv, yet you obtained it through the mining museum in december of '07
unless you are insanely lucky, it would take more than 5 months (since d/p came out in april) to get a pokemon with that good ivs from the museum
#2 it does not matter if you got it in a trade, or if it has "legit" properties, it is still a clearly hacked pokemon

Having IVs on his Kabutops that range from 20-30 and having a 31 attack IV is not uncommon. You can soft reset the fossil until you get the IVs you want. As for the second one, by definition of this trade thread, it's still "hacked"

Bidoof, Level one. used tackle and took out my Shuckle in one hit.
Gastly, level three. used Spacial Rend, and was faster than my Speed Deoxys.
level 10 shuckle, survived a direct hit from Fissure.

Just out of intrest if someone ticks me off and then we had a battle couldn't I just claim they hacked and when they deny it I could just say there lying (like most illegit hackers do) and get them blacklisted, kind of messes things up huh?

No, because we actually do look at evidence, contrary to what people might think.

and mods, if you don't mind, before putting someone on the blacklist, is it possible that i could play a little bit of detective on them and their accuser? I was a detective on neoseeker and many times people have been accused of hacking, the accuser is actually the hacker, and thinks that by reporting someone they will be suspected less, and in some cases, both players hack.
so.... I will only use my detective skills if you say so, but consider that we don't need innocents on the blacklist and hackers running wild

We don't need any "detectives." If people give me, Erik Destler, and Volteon evidence, we can determine if it's good enough or not.

If you can show that you got it in a trade, then you won't be put on. Everyone assumes SOME responsibility of making sure their traded Pokemon are legit before using them in battle, though :/

Is it at all possible that said Shaymin could have been caught from a glitch that allowed passage to the Flower Paradise? I mean, I'm not up to date with all the glitch talk or whether there was one in the US version similar to that in the Japanese one but it's possible, yes?

Yes it is possible with :-) But other then that it is not allowed to be used nor plat moves and pokes.

There is nothing about not using Plat moves in the Standard Rules thread. Many people have imported the game, and Competitive RMT people constantly are suggesting movesets that involve Plat move tutors for Wi-Fi teams.

Maybe there is a disconnect between the RMT and the Battle forum.

Platinum moves are not banned. As for Shaymin being used in battle, I'd think it's not allowed since it isn't allowed to be traded at all. I'll get back to this thread on that.

You're allowed to trade Shaymin; afterall, that's how I got my Movie Shaymin. I think you've gotten confused between WiFi and GTS trading ^^

I think Raichufan was talking about how long it took him to get the Pokes without hacking :\

But, to be fair, I have more than 4 shinies. If I put them in a single team do I suddenly become a hacker? Understandable if there's proof that the IVs were off the charts but, if you look at PWG's tourney, you could obtain about the same amount of shinies by winning that Raichu had. Conclusion: It wouldn't be fair to blacklist someone because they had shinies.
