What was with them trying to make Ryou into the hunky male that every female character fawns over? That's absolutely nothing like how he is in the games...not to mention that he's awfully plain. ;/

Not much to say about this episode until the dub airs. It seemed really weird and disjointed, though, like the scenes were all really forced and pieced together badly. Ryou's childhood story also irritated me. He was kind of a jerk to his Wurmple. "IT'S YOUR FAULT WE LOST!!!1!one" Dude, it's a friggin' worm. Do you expect it to be strong?

If I were his Wurmple (or Beautifly now...whatever), I wouldn't have come back. Ever.

the episode for an e4 was different. i don't like how weak Aaron's pokemon looked against team rocket but for the sake of the writer's being original it wasn't super bad.

why do people think Aaron will battle Cynthia?

I believe they talked about it in the episode.

Well. IMHO it was a horrible episode. In almost every single way.

    Animation-rubbish(Takeda)
    Storyline-bland
    Aron-annoyingly plain

    Just boring! Terribly boring!

The only redeeming parts where Vespiquen(In general), Bug Cameos (Surskit, Ledyba/Ledian, Kricketot) and overly excitable Officer Jenny.

But all in all, bland. I think that sums it up pretty well.

Wow...it's sad how poorly recieved this episode was. I myself wasn't fond of it either. Maybe people had high expectations, considering that it was an E4 episode, but the writers really should have tried harder.

It wasn't a terrible episode but it was just an ok one.

I brought up the example that if you replaced Aaron with a filler character, most of the episode would have turned out exactly the same.

This was basically any plot any filler character could have about meeting Wurmple in his childhood and reuniting with it years later, Team Rocket doing their usual routine, etc.

Lucian and Cynthia got better debut eps than this, as did Wallace.

After watching #pm's sub; ash mentioned two times how he wanted to beat the elite four and try a champion battle against shirona. Foreshadowing....

Yeah, with all these hints if Ash doesn't win the league and challenge the Elite 4 I'm going to call it quits.

Its actually exciting that Ash could quite possibly win a league tournament for the first time in the entire series, aside from the side stuff like the Orange League or Battle Frontier.

Even if he loses against Cynthia, just seeing him beat the Sinnoh League and battle the Elite Four would be good enough.
Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are remakes, confirmed.

The only problem with an E4 Arc...how would it work?

I mean, if it's "lose 1 and you have to start over", then that means:

    1. We'll go through each match knowing Ash will win
    2. We'll have to sit through the same battle multiple times

I dunno, I'm just wondering how they'll handle it.

Probably the same as a regular league, if you lose once then that's it and you can't re-challenge them for another year. The excitement will be hopefully Ash using all his older Pokemon from all previous sagas, and seeing Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and even Johto Pokemon help him battle through it.

I'm predicting Ash will lose to Cynthia if it happens, so I don't think Ash will be able to re-challenge her.

Aaron never lost to TR, his Pokemon were acting without their trainer and Carnivine managed to get a lucky hit on Vespiquen. Drapion looked round to see if she was ok (Because the DARK type is nice like that) and got hit with Poison Tail. They then got back up almost straight away. They never actually lost.

More like the Pokemon were without their trainer. Team Rocket got a lucky shot on them.

So I can't find this anywhere....but WHY did Aaron "release" Wurmple? And what made him go back to try and find it?

Drapion is probably madly in love with Vespiquen or something O.o

And it saddens me that this episode wasn't all that great. I was hoping for something better from an Elite Four episode, especially one with Aaron. Personally, I would have liked to see more insight on his character, not just a bland backstory with him being a jerk to a Wurmple... *sigh*

Also, it is interesting that Ash might potentially battle the Elite Four in order to win the League. In all the other seasons it was pretty much just a tournament between the top Trainers, nothing like the games.

The scene where Aaron met up with his Beautifly almost made me cry. Also, Aaron's Drapion seems to be really powerful - the powerhouse of Aaron's team.

Aaron "released" his Wurmple because they were constantly battling but never one a single battle. Aaron abandoned it, it ran away, he came back, but it wasn't there anymore.

This episode was kind of cute. I will like to see Aaron in the English dub when this episode airs in the U.S.

So I can't find this anywhere....but WHY did Aaron "release" Wurmple? And what made him go back to try and find it?
He didn't think he was making it strong and thought that by releasing it that it could become strong on its own D':

I can't wait to see it in the US. Season 11 is really bringing tears to my eyes, as flashbacks from Season 1 are coming back in a few episodes.

Not a terrible episode, per se, just a little slow, and empty.
I couldn't quite catch why it was that Aaron left Wurmple in the first place, and why so much attention was paid to that damned Skorupi (not a fan of it, or it's evo).
I like Aaron's character (and his green 'do'), but to be beaten by TR's Carnivine and Seviper, is incredibly weak, and just doesn't paint a good impression of the first member of the E4. Thankfully Lucian or Cynthia haven't been painted that way.
