I can't wait for this episode to air in the US.
I can't wait for this episode to air in the US.
The animation... it burned my eyes....
But the content was amusing enough, though.
But still, I can't stand that animation style.... it feels... lazy.
hell yeah...empoleon was holding a cup with both wings...although it does have 3 little claws under those wings
and of all the pokemon that meowth could have picked to do his slice-and-dice,he HAD to pick empoleon...why couldn't it hit Buizel instead?
And why did water gun looked the same as a smaller hydro pump?I don't know...
Decent episode, special mentions to Staravia/Muku.Bird(or should i say Muku.BROCK?),Gliscor and "The faces of evil"
Hydro Pump = Water Gun unless the Pokemon in question uses both.
What does Altaria do to Oak during his segment?

Ok seriously, we need another Island of the Giant Pokémon episode. This sounds like an amusing episode, funny and full of wackiness.
So about Canalave City, are Iron/Fullmoon/Newmoon part of it? How many islands are there total? I've seen two different pics so I can't tell. I still don't get why they made it islands instead of on the coast.
Team Galactic conquers all
So designing exaggerated poses and facial movements with vibrant colors that all flow together in a very fluid fashion is "lazy", especially in comparison to say...a Takeda episode in which every character's head is disproportional to the body and conjoined by a foot-long neck or when the only part of a person's limbs you see moving is the occasional shift in the thin outline's position?
Thank you for all the fantastic times, Serebii Forums!
I said, I was bored...
Saw the pictures, favorite scene is Staravia's recation to the fake one. Otherwise, I was kind of dissapointed. Half of them are found just minutes after blasting off.

I really like the animation style of this episode and I give this episode a 7.5/10
Franzy says you're a foolishly fool who foolishly thinks foolish things!Spoiler:- credits:
If by flow together, you mean take a bunch of still images and move them about; yes, I find that lazy. Grossly exaggerated poses annoy me. I don't care enough to differentiate animators from each other; if an episode seems poorly drawn to me, I'll call it out. This episode was poorly animated, and if Takeda's next episode is bad, I'll say the same thing.
I can´t believe someone thinks that this episode was badly animated o.O
So, you prefer boring stills over funny poses in a hugely comedy based episode? Many, many scenes profited by the wacky animation. And for a Pokémon episode, there weren´t many choppy animated scenes and I don´t really see why you call the animation "a bunch of still images and move them". If this was a Takeda episode you would be right, but with this one...not really.
4 Generations - 8 Teams - 48 Pokémon - 1 Trainer
I love these episodes where it's pretty much only pokemon interaction. They are so interesting.
Considering Gliscor has the most obvious personality of the bunch, I thought it was going to get a really big comedy plot, yet it didn't. Instead Staravia got it and I was so happy because I loved all of the bird's scenes. If you questioned if the bird had personality, watch this episode.
I'm disappointed once again by the lack of Swi... who?
I'm sad Jun went. I love him.![]()
I've only seen this episode's screenshots on Filb, but between the hysterical animation drawings, the surprising simplicity yet all-around awesomeness of the plot (it's "The Island of the Giant Pokémon" except a million times funnier and with fewer giant robots), and the seemingly hundreds of hysterical Nyasu moments, I think I can already safely declare it my new favorite episode ever. I'll save final judgement for when I can actually view it, but until then: AG072, you're in danger of being dethroned!
I haven't been watching enough DP, and I really should catch up. To quote Mr. Burns, "Is all television this wonderful?"

Animation. Noun. Creating the illusion of movement by showing a rapid progression of slightly different still images.
I'm sorry sir, would you prefer live action? I can accept not liking exaggerated poses, but calling the episode badly animated because of them is just silly. God knows the animators have done worse - remember the Groundon/Kyogre battle? A lot of its "animation" was a bunch of still images that didn't even pretend to move. Kids these days, don't appreciate it at all when the animators actually bother to animate an episode.
-Three seconds into the episode and Jun is already being his impatient self. This bodes well.
-The music in the opening scene is quite nice, I must say.
-Everyone's impressed by the view of Canalave. Except for Jun, presumably because WHY ARE WE STILL IN THE AIR COME ON GOGOGO THIS BLIMP NEEDS TO LAND ALREADY.
-And everyone is easily fooled by TR, although Jun looks unsettled about something. Probably the fact that they're not racing out of the airport(blimport?) already.
-Jun doesn't waaannnaaa have his picture taken. Not that I can blame them, the paparazzi can be rather annoying.
-Did...did Team Rocket did a hole through SOLID CONCRETE?
-How exactly did they plan to get away with the Pokemon if their take-the-net-away plan was "let's pull it ourselves :D!"? Empoleon alone would weigh around 180 pounds!
-And Jun commands Empoleon to use Hydro Pump(I think)! Hey, somebody actually remembered that projectile attacks can pass through holes in nets!
-I love how the only Pokemon James seems worried about losing is Manene, despite us seeing it approximately one trillion times less than Carnivine.
-I suddenly realized that I missed Mime Jr imitating people whenever it was out. It's one of those little touches that you appreciate the most after it's been gone for a while, I guess.
-Empoleon's metal arm-wing things are a lot more bendy than I'd have thought.
-TR shows up, James calls for his Pokemon, Ash decides to have Mukubird pop their balloon. You show 'em, Ash!
-But wait! James has a secret weapon! It's...Mukuescort!
-Ash's Mukubird's heart is weak, as it is easily lured from the path of righteousness by the devilish perfume of the Mukuho.
-Luckily Glion smashes balloons just as well as any ol' bird, and so Ash successfully impedes James from finding his Carnivine and Mime Jr.
-Croagunk sighting:On boat piloted by apparent Team Aqua member. Or one of the many other seafaring professions that involves wearing a blue and white striped shirt and a bandanna.
-Pikachu demonstrates that it has more self control than Ash by not frying Meowth to an electrifying crisp. Congrats Ash, you officially are more impulsive than a small rodent.
-Mukubird begins an epic song of undying love for its dear Mukuskank.
-Are you sure can't keep Jun forever? He's just such a breath of fresh air for the group.
-And AshnCo find 90% of the Pokemon without us ever seeing a scene of their hilarious exploits. Of course, that would have involved giving Swinub screentime, so I understand the writers' decision.
-Can we pleeeease keep Jun? Pleasepleaseplease pleeeeasse? I promise to keep him fed and watered and to change his litterbox and to make sure he doesn't scratch the furniture! PLEEASSEE?
-One of Carnivine's teeth managed to be aimed juuust so that it went through his hair without hitting any major arteries. This time.
-Piplup has absolutely no sense of direction. Sure, it's in an unfamiliar city and, more specifically, in what is apparently the Dead End Ally District, but come on now.
-So to get to the other side of the lake, Ash and co have to run...around...various side streets? Well, okay then.
-Remind me again where the MELEE is here? I see some chaos, but not really any meleeing.
-If Croagunk keeps going like this, it'll eventually get its own battleship. Please let Croagunk keep going like this.
-Now, I'm not one of those OCD Japanese nerds who knows every one of the 309 pronouns the Japanese language has and what they all imply, but...doesn't Brock usually use something that's not "ore"? I mean, maybe he was just going with the flow since he spoke right after Jun, but that's still one of the haughtier pronouns out there and god why do I even know ANY of this.
-Is there some reason Pikachu is walking with its arms sticking out? Did I miss the announcement of Canalave having THRILLER, THRILLER NIIIGHT! several hours before nightfall?
-Now there's something we haven't seen in the group in far too long:arguing!
-Meowth has the best imagination in the entire series. Now if only he'd use it for something other than boss fantasies more often...actually, how long has it been since we've even seen one of those?
-And everyone apparently decides to listen to the ADHD squirrel in deciding if Meowth is telling the truth. And I meant Pachirisu, not Jun, you silly billy.
-Hey, Dawn actually recongnised that being a talking Pokemon is something rare and special that Meowth could use for novel(and profitable) purposes!
-Ash appears to have been left to eat with the Pokemon.
-Mukubird is still fawning over Mukufloozy, but then the Mukuhooker falls in the river, giving us a rare and wonderful glimpse at Mukubird's surprised face.
-How DOES TR keep managing to dig through concrete? And when did they stop bothering to make their holes deep enough that AshnCo can just stand up in them in about 2 seconds?
-BRRRRRRRRT! Oh poor Seviper, denied the best sound in your arsenal for so long. But now you're BACK, BABY!
-Holy mother of mimes, Mime Jr is actually battling!
-Meowth SERIOUSLY needs to trim his claws unless he plans on becoming Wolverine sometime soon.
-Also Meowth just knocked out Empoleon with Scratch. Scatch.
-Brock is so good at detecting females of mating age that he runs at one who was BEHIND him. Either that or his eyes finally got around to burrowing to the other side of his skull.
-Or perhaps it was just a cunning plan to get Croagunk to show up. At least Brock knows how this works by now.
-And Jun leaves. The group just got so boring.
