I'm right there with you. I would really like to see a Pokemon game on the Wii U.

I've always though a Ranger game would be great on a home console. Especially with the Wii U controller, that might be amazing.

Even if Gen 6 doesn't drop this year, they may as well wait on the console game until that's out. When PBR came out, Gen 4 was basically just getting started. Gen 5, meanwhile, is pretty much done. Why release a console battler for a gen that's dead and will be usurped within a year or two.

well with the 1/8/13 announcement AND the 7/13/13 movie the anime HAS to continue that to that point SO i THINK that ash will go to a previous regions battle frontier without Iris (as she is know champion) and hopefully meet up with may/misty/dawn.... and since the anime continues so does 5th gen GAMES so im thinking its either R/S remake, Pokemon Conquest 2, OR Pokemon colosseum 3(#2 was gale of darkness) or maybe just MAYBE a new pokemon ranger game...

Going to the Sinnoh Battle Frontier wouldn't promote anything. Since Sinnoh is done with, it would be pointless really. But, if they were to create a new one, then it would be impressive. But, that all depends on how the anime is going first.

Well considering that gen 5 was in development at the start of gen, it wouldn't be too far fetch if development on gen 6 was started at the same time or after the release of Black and White.

It feels sooner than usual in that B2W2 are pretty much new games with different protagonists and story line, albeit a continuation of BW's, and not just a special 3rd version. It's only been what, two months since the American release? Heck, Serebiiforums for B2W2 aren't even open for public thread making yet.

I'm not going to complain if we do get news regarding Gen 6, but my point is that compared to the past where there's essentially nothing new to digest with the release of the 'third version' of each generation or a remake of an older generation, B2W2 brought something new to the table, and six months after a 'new game' is a much faster pace than I've anticipated.

Your eagerness to refute the possibility of that the news might not going to be Gen VI related seems to stem from past trend, even though there's almost nothing similar in the past, be it Japanese date release, special third version or otherwise.

Masuda tweetet that Shigeki Morimoto is coming to Pokemon Smash on 6th January. Masuda himself tweetet early December that he will also be soon by Pokemon Smash. Then he deleted this Tweet. So actually Masuda and Morimoto should be by the next episode of Pokemon Smash. That could be the announcement of the 6th Gen. The 5th Gen. also introduced in January!^^ déjà vu

As has been said a million times by this point - no.

They wouldn't make a remake for gen 5 because gen 5 is over, and that's obvious. If they do have remakes, it'll be after gen 6 starts. If there's a new game announced on the 8th, it'll be a spin-off or gen 6. No doubt about it.
