Surely that's its guillotine, right? Oo

In other news, another set of updates are up. I really need to start chopping them down in length, this is supposed to be rabid fire...

I'm hoping to engage in some hardcore rapid fire updating come July, when I'm done with this awful six-week Calculus course my grad adviser suggested I take. Seven hours of homework every night is not my idea of fun, ESPECIALLY when it's Calculus... X_x

I always enjoyed math in school. I wish I could say that's my way of offering you help, but alas, as it goes if you don't use something regularly (in this case my math knowledge), you lose it. For instance, I remember what the FOIL method is (First Outer Inner Last), but I forget when I'm supposed to use it. I know when I learned it I aced it on exams. Anyway, good luck with your class M_E.

Updates - my updatees, I hope to have yours up after I come home from work tomorrow. I still have that one more to write. Updators, when I get my updatees updated, I shall work on my replies now that Cyndaquil is out of the Daycare. Newbies to Astoria, I believe there are 3 who have recently started an adventure. I am asking you to give me one more week before I take one or two of you on to weed out who may have gone inactive (I think I have 1 who is inactive). At this juncture, I would choose someone who isn't being updated anywhere (UPN, BMG, SPPf); but I think that applies to all 3 of you. heh

I'm a bit odd in that I loved statistics, but hated all other types of math. I took Pre-Calculus 6 years ago... Believe me, I know what you mean about losing it if you don't use it! A lot of the stuff comes flooding back once you're gently reminded, though.

FOIL is basically used to translate terms such as (x+2)(x-4) into polynomials like x^2-2x-8. I would not have remembered that at all if it wasn't for the fact that I have to use FOIL a lot to check if I've factored polynomials correctly for analyzing limits and whatnot.

OUCH. Seven hours... Calculus... Every night... I wish I could be of any help, but alas, I loathe and despise math in all its sinister forms.

Haha! I think of that scene in Mean Girls every time I write "DNE" for any homework/quiz problem. XD

I don't despise Calculus anymore, but I do find the piles of homework incredibly tedious. After all the papers I had to write for my Master's, I could write a 20 page research paper in under 9 hours without much problem, yet with Calculus, my brain seems to move much more slowly and with far less productivity. It's kind of sad. T_T

Oh come on, I loved Lohan's Parent Trap and Freaky Friday! Then again, I've seen the original movies with Hayley Mills and think of both old and new as equals.

Now if Lohan would stop being a druggie... >_<

@Marion: Heheh, 7 hours of Calculus sounds about right. I took about that much time per day on my Calculus class and then on my Linear Algebra class. Though I have to say... I had more fun with Linear Algebra than I did with Calculus. :P

*is one of the Astoria newbies* Woohoo, some news! I don't know about the other guys, but I am not updating at the other places, Astoria is the first, one and only zone I'm in right now (well, if you consider putting the starting post as "in").

There are scarier stuff than Calculus, but everyone already knows that
