Yancy had it bad, like really really bad.

She can't stop thinking about Nate. He was always on her mind. She didn't know what it was exactly about him that captivated her but ever since she first met him for the first time in Nimbasa City by the Ferris Wheel, she developed a crush on him. Then as they began to talk more, that crush escalated. There's just.. no one like him.

The very first time that she talked to him, after he picked up her Xtransciever which she had dropped in Nimbasa City, she started to feel something. But she had to tell herself that it was wrong to develop feelings for someone you've never met in person. She had no idea what he was like. What kind of personality he had. For all she knew, he could have turned out to be some sort of creep. Luckily, this was not the case.

Everytime he called her, she always blushed. Just talking to him made her smile, he made her so happy.
She wanted to see him so bad but she was busy with work. She couldn't get much time and even when she did get some time off, Nate was always busy himself. He was always training to take on the Pokemon League.

So sadly, neither of them could find the time to see each other.

Nate continues to remain oblivious to her feelings for him and she really wants to keep it that way. He didn't need to know just how pathetic she was. How she kept thinking about a guy, who would never be hers.

After all, why would a guy like Nate ever want to date a girl like Yancy?

"I can't keep doing this, Cilan."

"Iris? What? I'm confused."

Of course he doesn't get it. Why would he? He doesn't see how his family are not accepting of Iris. He doesn't see how his family keep putting her down and making her feel unwelcome whenever they came by.

Cilan has been dating for Iris for the past two years but his parents did not accept her. According them, she was not good enough for him because she wasn't rich. She didn't have the nicest wardrobe either but it was all she could afford. She didn't have the money to buy new cloths.

"Your parents hate me." Iris looked away sadly. "I try to keep pleasing them and nothing."

"My parents are a bunch of judgemental idiots!" Cilan told her.

Iris looked away, she was beyond upset. She loved Cilan but she was tired of hearing the same thing over and over again. She did not measure up to Cilan.

Why is he even with her?

"Iris look at me.." Iris picked up her head and slowly looked at Cilan. He took a seat next to her and put his arm around her. "I love you, you know that right?"

Iris nodded. "Then don't let them get to you. There's nothing they can do or way that will change the way I feel about you. I don't care about the money, I don't care about the cloths.

Iris couldn't but smile hearing him say that. "When we're together, anything goes."

She snuggled into her boyfriends side and rested her head on his shoulder. She was so lucky to have someone like Cilan. He went against his family's wishes and continued to pursue a relationship with her. Not too many guys do that.

"Nothing even matters, Iris. I'm not going aywhere."

She loves him!

Burgundy was sure of that. She just adored Ash. She didn't know why she did but she really truly adored Ash. He always made her face light up whenever he was around. He always managed to make her smile. And he always managed to take her breath away.

She always missed him whenever he wasn't around. She wanted to screamed, "come back to me!" to Ash whenever he left. She wanted but never did.

But he had no idea that she was even there. He never noticed her. He had no idea she even existed. All he gives a damn about are his Pokemon and battles, never even noticed her standing right before him, and it's all because of that jerk, Cilan. He just had to happen and steal Ash away from her.

Ash was meant to be hers, no one else's. Why did he have to come and ruin everything? He was ruining her life. Cilan had what she wanted more then anything and that was Ash. Ash was traveling with that loser, not her.

He should be with her.

Life just isn't fair.

"Burgundy." She heard and turned to see the jerk standing there with a look of confusion all over his face. "What are you doing here? Are you stalking us?"

"Mark my words, Cilan!" She pointed her finger. "Ash will be mine! I will have him! He will never be yours!"

Before he had a chance to say anything, Burngundy then turned on her heel and left.

Cilan stared after her. Uhh, okay." He said, confused, "I'm with Iris now anyway."

"When are you going to do something right for a change?!" Miss Lina screeched, hitting our fellow-friend's spirit stuck in a suit of armour with a pink slipper.

"Whooaaah-Whoah-Whoaaah!!" shouted the silver and purple knight beside me. Her tough metal head was spinning uncontrollably atop her body armour. "Miss Amelia, help me!"

Oh, no. Not this again...

"Miss Lina, calm down!" I said, running in the gap between them. "It's been a long day already!" I faced Miss Lina while Miss Nama tried to stop her head from spinning. Her wailing echos were fading.

"Flatty, stop your arguing find a place for us to stay!" Mister Pokota said, resting upon Mister Gourry's head. "We need a place to stay tonight or somethin'!"

"Stop calling me Flatty, you puny animal, you!" Miss Lina growled, facing the small green creature and he turned away. "That's more like it..."

I turned around to help Miss Nama up. I feel her pain somehow. It was like me when I first met Miss Lina... She used to hit me, kick me... bite my hair off for not doing something right or messing things up for that matter...

"Miss Amelia... you don't have to help Nama, you know," said the female knight. "But sometimes I don't know why Miss Lina hates Nama so much! Humph! Humph!"

"Don't worry, I got your back."

From afar their battle took place. It was a battle like no other. In the Nimbasa Gym The famous Elesa was challege by a rookie trainer named Nate. Something about Him seemed different from the trainer she faced years ago. As she was about to use her final Pokemon She stared at him. Nate had the brightness smile that she has ever seen. She didn't know what was going on but she felt that Nate was the brightness star she had seen in a while. As He ended the match with his Pignite defeating her Zebrastrika. She smiled at him as she walked up to him.
"Nate, You're a great trainer with much potential hidden deep inside and I hope that in the near future you will show that progress during the rest of your journey." As she handed him the badge "Prove that you defeated me I give the Bolt Badge." Elesa said as she handed him the badge. Nate smiled brightly and looked down at his badge case.
"Thanks Elesa. I hope That I will battle you again some day." Nate said as he shooked her hand blushing slightly for a bit. Elesa blushed deeper than Nate did. As she smiled as Nate started to walked down the runway. Elesa ran up to him. He stared at her confused. "Is something wrong Elesa?" She shooked her head.
"I was hoping that fans can cheer you on for your victory as you walked down the runway." Elesa said with a blush. Nate laughed at the situation Elesa was in.
"Sure I don't mind' As Nate walked down the runway,He got cheer louder than Elesa did. Fangirls wanted his autograph and a couple of girls wanted him to date them. Elesa felt a little jealous for a second and Wonder why she is acting this way.
"Well Good Luck at the Gym Challenge." Elesa said as she leaned in and kissed his cheek. Nate blushed deeply as he held his face. Elesa looked on hoping that one day she will see him again.
"Nate You may not notice but I am started to have an attraction towards you"

His breath hitches slightly when he meets her. She's famous and almost too beautiful, that was an established fact. He admits he has seen her around before - who hasn't? - on billboards, magazine covers, and TV shows. Actually, he sees her everywhere he goes. Now he's standing in the middle of Nimbasa City, full of colors and life, but all he sees is her. Her, her, her, her, everything is her. And it is as if his world only turns for her and only her.

It is driving him insane.

(Not that his brown eyes were purposely searching for the sight of black hair and a shocking smile, or so he tells himself.)

But when he sees her in person, it feels like he is about to faint. He barely recalls challenging her gym and withstanding her electric attacks - to both his pokemon and his heart. And when her emolga falls, signaling his victory, he just remembers subconsciously holding his breath because her frown-turned-smile is just so, so electrifying. Just then, something inside of him just clicks -

it feels like he's falling in love all over again.

Zoey sips her coffee silently as she glances over a gossip magazine left on the coffee shop booth. Nothing particularly catches her attention - she doesn't really care for gossip anyhow - until she reaches the mid-back of the said magazine. Along with an enlarged picture of the popular contest couple, Drew Hayden and May Maple, both her friends though she's closer to the latter than the former, and various shots of their contest performances and couple pictures over the years, it reads 'Famous contest participants, Drew Hayden and May Maple, are now engaged!' Zoey stares at the pages with wide eyes and chokes a little on her coffee.

She didn't see that coming.

Somehow, she doesn't feel an ounce of happiness. She knows she should be happy that one of her closer friends is going to marry her long time rival and lover, but she just can't bring herself to smile. As if it's planned, just on cue, her phone starts ringing.

"Hey, Zoey!" pipes the other voice on the pokenav, "I know you usually don't read magazines, but have you seen the newest issue of Pokemon Updates?"

Zoey loses her composition slightly and freezes. This is about the worst time for the person she doesn't want to think about to call. "Yeah, I saw it," Zoey replies weakly, "Congratulations May."

She hears May's sheepish laughter on the other side of the phone, and she feels like she needs to get away now. "They're kinda making too big of a deal out of it," she says with a soft voice, a voice of a girl in love. "I hope you can come!"

"I hope I can too," Zoey replies, hoping her voice doesn't sound as pathetic as she thinks it does.

"Yay, hope to see you then, Zoey!" May's cheerful voice chirps, "Well, I gotta go now. Wedding planning is almost torturous."

Zoey could only offer an awkward, weak smile in return. "I hope you'll be happy, May."

"Thank you, Zoey. You too. I hope you can be happy too," May smiles wholeheartedly before hanging up.

"Always be happy with him, so I won't weaken my resolve," she whispers into the sound of the static beep of her phone.

And it hurts.

"Just by looking at this Charing Cross Bridge painting for a while makes you feel living in the early 1900s, don't you think so, Elesa?" said Burgh, then looking at the sketch of the painting in his book held firmly in his arms.

I just nodded, knowing I was just having an illusion like I was living in the early 1900s just by looking at that art piece... Strange painting...

Crack. The pencil broke in two between her teeth.

Filia made a face and tried to get the taste of lead out of her mouth as the bits of broken pencil fell onto the cushion of papers stacked up on her desk. She reached across them for her mug and took a swig of the lukewarm liquid within. She frowned, having forgotten that she’d replaced her beloved tea with coffee. What could she say? Sometimes tea just didn’t cut it and today…

She stared down at the all too blank forms in front of her. The distraction of mild lead poisoning could only keep her thought away from it so long… pages and pages and pages! And to complicate matters, more pages! She had to get her book-keeping squared away before tomorrow morning and yet…

She stared at the clock. It ticked at her, it seemed, more loudly than usual. Every passing second fell from the very finite amount of time she had to finish her task as though it had been hacked away with a meat cleaver.

The thought filled her mind, leaving no room for the facts and figures she had to reconcile, no room for complicated arithmetic or problem-solving. I will never finish this in time. That was all there was.

“I don’t pretend to be an expert in the area of dragon cuisine,” a voice cut through this despairing finality, “but a pencil seems like a rather odd choice for a snack.”

Her head whipped upward. “You!” she shouted, her face reddening as she saw Xellos lounging against a shelf as though work was not something he was familiar with. “Get out of here! I don’t have time to deal with you right now.”

“Oh, but I suppose you have plenty of time to chew on pencils,” he came back with an unhelpful little grin. “You know, Filia, you should really take up gum instead.” He looked at her for a moment and then added, as though just a little too intrigued, “or possibly smoking.”

She glared at him. “I’ll stick to caffeine, thank you very much,” she informed him.

He shrugged. “Have it your way.”

“I will,” she assured him, reaching into her desk for a spare pen or pencil. She took it out and returned to her forms, quite intent on tackling them with every last piece of her shattered concentration.

That intent did not last very long. She sagged at the sheer enormity of the task.

“…Do you suppose that any amount of caffeine will really get you through this?” Xellos prodded her, walking over to her desk and glancing at the incomplete stack of papers.

She let her head fall into her hands. “I waited too long to get started,” she moaned. “Now I’ll never finish it on time.”

“So don’t,” Xellos answered simply.

She looked up at him, just a bit of water in her eyes that she was already in the process of blinking back. “What?” she asked.

“Don’t finish it on time,” Xellos elaborated. “Hold people up. Demand an extension. In general, make a nuisance of yourself until you get your way. You’re good at that.”

For a moment, she was ashamed to think, there actually was a sense of possibility there. It was as if she’d been crammed in an enclosed space for so long, the pressure of the nearby walls growing heavier on her mind all the while, and then suddenly there was a trace of light from the outside—an opening—an escape.

She shook her head. “Unlike you, I don’t let down the people who depend on me,” she decided.

“Then finish it,” he said, as though it was so simple.

“Easy for you to say,” she growled. “And what exactly are you going to do? Be any help or just continue to offer useless advice?”

He looked thoughtful. “I think I’ll want to stay here,” he decided. “And wait for the moment that the stressed overpowers you. The way I see it, one of two things will happen. Either you’ll collapse, exhausted into fitful and feverish dreams on top of your unfinished work or you’ll rage to the point of screaming and breaking things.” He smiled. “In other words, this is a not-to-be-missed evening for a dedicated connoisseur of your tempers such as myself.”

She scowled at him, making nearly paper-rippingly forced mark on her forms. “At least one of us is enjoying this,” she grumbled.

He beamed. “Oh, immensely.”

Hugh sat on the edge on the bed ans held Nate's pale hand in his. He brushed away a piece of hair out of Nate's face, sighing in the process.

"Are you sure there's nothing I can do? You know I hate seeing you so weak..." He quietly spoke.

"I'm...fine..." Nate replied weakly, his voice strained. He closed his eyes and his gripped weakened on Hugh's hand.

Hugh stood up and paced the floor, shaking his head and eyeing Nate worridly. He pulled out his cell phone and dialed for a docter.

~*~*~*~

"Nate should be up and about in a week or so. Just give him lots of water and let him rest. Soup too. Ciao." And with that, the docter walked out.

"Thank Arceus..." Hugh said quietly to himself. He walked over to Nate, stroking his head. He kissed his warm cheek softly, then walked off to get Nate a big glass of water.

Winters around Twist Mountain are known to be brutal. Nate's mother warned both him and Hugh about going up there during the season but being the adventurous teens they both were, they ignored her and decided to go up there anyways. And Nate was really beginning to regret not listening to his mother now.

This was only supposed to be day trip but things have a funny way of not working out the way they're supposed to. They didn't make it up very far before a blizzard hit. Both Hugh and Nate knew about the blizzard but they thought it wasn't supposed to hit until later into the night. But it came a few hours earlier. It was brutal. The snow, mixed in with some hail, was pounding on the two, forcing them to take shelter in a cabin.

Luckily for them, it appeared no one lived in there so they figured they would wait the storm out. The storm wasn't expected to stop for hours so they were forced to spend the night in the woods on Twist Mountain in the middle of a blizzard.

Nate sat on the couch in the living room. He kept trying to find a signal with his Xtransceiver but with no lucky. Gah, his mother must be worried sick. He just wanted to call her and let her know that both he and Hugh were alright and they were going to wait out the Blizzard. “This cannot be happening.” Nate complained, throwing his Xtransceiver across the room in frustration.

Hugh came into the living room with a blanket in his hands. “What's wrong?” He asked, taking a seat next to Nate. He covered both himself and Nate with the blanket to try and keep them warm.

“I can't pick up a signal.” Nate said, putting his Xtransceiver in his bag.

Hugh was clearly disappointed. Well, he liked spending time with his friend but he really didn't want to be stranded in a cabin in the middle of blizzard. But it's not like it could be helped. “It looks like we're going to be stuck here for a while.”

“Yeah well, I would at least like to call my mom and let her know that I'm okay. She was against us doing this and I don't blame her.” Nate complained and shook his head. “We really should not have come up here, Hugh. What if we don't get out alive?”

“Hey,” Hugh called out. “Don't say stuff like that. We're going to be fine, Nate. I'm sure of it.” He tried to assure the younger but slowly found himself not believing his own words. He was afraid they were going to die up here and no one would ever know what happened to them. But he didn't want to say anything to scare the other boy. He thought that if anything happened to Nate while they were up there, it would be on him since he's older.

“How, Hugh?” Nate said, angrily. “We have no food or water up here and how exactly are we supposed to be ourselves warm if the fireplace over there doesn't even work?” Good point. “There's no telling how long we're going to be stuck here either. What if we freeze to death?”

“That's not going to happen.” Hugh assured Nate while wrapping his arm around the younger teen. “I'm not going to let that happen. We're going to be fine.”

And indeed they were. It didn't take that long for the two to be found.

Colress led his young follower into a room only he knew of in the Plasma frigate. He looked behind him, and saw the confused boy look around.

“Colress, why’d you lead me here?” Nate asked curiously. Colress just gave a slight smile as he turned around

“Here is where we shall have our final match, it is a special realm where age does not matter.” Colress replied as he pressed a button, and the time around him started to make him look younger, until he looked around his challenger’s age.

“Fine, what does the winner get?” Nate asked slyly

“How about a kiss?” The younger Colress inquired

“Fine, sounds perfect.” Nate replied back with a determined smile.

And of course, we both wanted it either way… Colress silently thought as the sent out there pokemon

Ash sighed as he lied down on his bed, his mind churning with all the different emotions of love. He had a crush, no, not a crush, he was deeply in love with the new girl in his class. She was a transfer student from Hoenn, and her name was May.

He couldn’t stop getting her out of his head. Her bright, bubbly personality with a hint of clumsiness. It greatly outweighed Misty, is best friend, who was more of a jerk than anything to him. He did get use to it though.

He curled up on his bed and just started to space out, thinking if May actually asked him out. He had this internal turmoil of her asking him, he asking her, there dates, and so much more. He heard his phone vibrate on the bed, and looked at the caller I.D

His heart skipped a beat, it was May.

Morty walked through the cold, foggy night of the Ecruteak winter. He always enjoyed these walks, as he always got the chance to meet one lost spirit or another. Though, tonight was different. He was there to meet someone dear to him, a friend from long ago who was heard to be sighted, curious, he decided to investigate.

He stopped at a lamppost, it was no different from the ordinary hanging lantern lampposts Ecruteak had, but he could tell it apart from all the others, as a single chain of cherry blossoms hung from the bottom of the post.

He felt a chill down his spin, and turned and say his old friend, no, he had feelings more than that.

“Your back Gengar, I’ve missed you.” He said with a small smile

Of course I am, we promised to meet here again. Have your feelings faltered, young human? Gengar asked in his head

“No… Guide me.” Morty said with an ominous tone, and he felt Gengar’s hand holding his. They walked together, fading into the foggy night.

Maybe it was because she was brought up as a borrower, she has absolutely no problem lying. (She refused to call herself a thief because it reminded her of a man cold as ice on a bird with rainbow feathers.) A lie told here, a lie told there, and no one would figure it out. It's funny, really, because she remembered blurred faces with the titles 'Mom' and 'Dad' attached told her lying was a bad, bad thing. But when she was put in situations where lying was her only option, it was all she did. And now, she can't stop.

Lying became her favorite game. (She knew she was lying to herself.)

"So?" he questioned with an eyebrow raised, "You'll pretend your whole life?"

She was stunned because she honestly didn't know.

"I like you," he stated in his almost monotone voice.

If she was stunned then, she was absolutely shocked now. "W - what?" she spluttered, already ashamed of herself for not being able to lie through her emotions.

"I said," he paused, "I like you."

She ran away.

She saw him a few days later, when she composed herself enough to waltz into his grandfather's lab, where he was currently at.

"Boring as always, huh?" she poked fun at him reading through some sort of document with glasses perched on his nose.

"Back to being pretentious, huh?" he replied with, trading the document he had finished reading for a new file without looking at her.

"What are you talking about?" she blurted out a little too fast. She cursed herself because she sounded like she was just avoiding it - and she was.

"You know what I'm talking about," he said, still not looking at her.

"Why?" she finally asked after a moment of silence, sans the sound of him flipping through the file pages.

"Because you're fun to read," he put the file down, finally looking at her, "So let's try this again. I like you."

She averted her eyes from his straightforward glance.

"Like right now, you're scared because I can figure you out," he spoke with confidence, "And you're thinking about running away again because you don't know what to do."

It scared her how accurate he is, how he can see through her flirting and jokes.

"I know you like me, Blue," he whispered softly, almost uncertain. "Be honest with yourself for once."

At that, she whipped her head toward him and stared at him. A smoldering silence fell between the two figures.

"I do," she whispered quietly, "But I can't. You're - I - We - I - I - "

She didn't know when, but he had already close the gap between them and kissed her.

"That's enough, no?" he said airily after he pulled away.

"Yes," she replies softly, sounding almost inaudible over the sound of her loud heartbeats, "Yes."

It was finally time for her to drop the facade. (Or not, because blaming Green for accidentally locking their best friends - Red and Yellow - up in a closet for an hour was just too much fun.)

"So how did the Wallace Cup go, Dawn?" Ash asked his friend, who he hadn't seen since she departed for Johto after her stay in Unova. "You trained so hard for it in Unova!" The girl let out a nervous laugh as she twirled the ends of her hair with her fingers.

"I think I did pretty well, but there were some tough coordinators this time." Dawn looked down at her feet, a weak smile appeared on her face.

"I'm sorry," the boy whispered as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "But I know you will win next time!"

Dawn looked up to see her friend's face. He had on his goofy smile as she expected. For some reason, that always cheered her up right away. Her thoughts drifted to the first Wallace Cup she had participated in and had won. She laughed as she remembered how funny Ash had looked in his costume.

"What's so funny?" Ash asked slowly not knowing what could have been so funny on what he had said.

"Remember the time when you entered the Wallace Cup with me, Zoey, and May?" She asked while getting a nod from Ash in return. "Well, we all had to dress up, and it was one of the few times I've seen you wear fancy clothing that I just found it funny." She giggled to herself.

"Hahaha, I did feel a bit ridiculous to be honest." Ash scratched the back of his head as he laughed.

"But I have to admit you did look kind of cute." The blunnette playfully teased her friend as she gave him a light punch in the arm.

"Cu-cute?" Ash stuttered, a slight blush appearing on his face. Dawn realized he had taken it seriously and started blushing herself.

"I... I was just joking!" Dawn waved her hands in front of her frantically, trying to hide her embarrassment as much as she could.

"Ah, okay?" He didn't want to push the subject any longer, since, as dense as he is, he could feel his blunnette friend get nervous. "Anyways, do you want to try a practice battle with me?"

Dawn sighed in relieved and wiped some sweat off that had started to appear on her forehead. "That would be fun! Haven't battled you in a while."

The trainer stood up so fast that his chair almost fell over. "Yeah, and I won't go easy on you either."

"That's fine by me, Ash!"

Winona, the Flying-type Hoenn Gym Leader, flew up in the sky on her blue and white swan-like Pokemon as I was sitting behind her, swathing my arms around her. It was a great flight from this view. I never experienced such great heights. I must get an Altaria myself once I beat her, but this is too mch fun! I don't want it to end!

"This is so... awesome!!" I shouted, holding onto Winona tightly, with my face almost smudging her shirt.

"I knew you'd like this, Lyra!" she said, smiling at me.

Poisonous gases mix each and every day at twilight when two lonely creatures step out from the shadows to meet at their designated rendezvous point below an abandoned bridge, a little ways off from a heavily populated and polluted city. Ghastly would circle in glee around her precious friend, laughing and cracking jokes to alleviate the dark and dreary atmosphere, and Koffing would laugh as well, more than grateful to have at least one friend in his dull, gray life.

All through the night they would dance and sing and laugh, and if another Pokemon strayed into their territory, they'd play harmless pranks to rouse up some more laughs and giggles from each other. When dawn approaches and the light peeks over the horizon, watching the sunrise together they would talk endlessly about what lies beyond the skyline, what other Pokemon are watching the natural phenomenon at the same moment as them. A period of comfortable silence then blankets them, and, as their happiness peaks with the warmth of the sun heating their toxic bodies, Ghastly would yawn and say her goodbyes to Koffing, promising to play with him again later that day when the sun sets once more. Koffing would smile and agree, and, before fully retreating to his sleeping quarters, he'd stay behind for a few minutes and watch over Ghastly to ensure her safety in making it back to her home. With a grin that would normally take up half his face, he'd float to bed in absolute bliss, his mind and spirit on Cloud 9, hoping for the hours to pass quickly so he could see Ghastly again.

Iris ignored the twinge in her arm. Fresh scrapes arced across her skin from that thorny bush she’d tumbled through a few minutes past. She didn’t care about the pain; she couldn’t care about the pain. Not now. Not while she still had to fight so hard just to keep up.

Overhead a brilliant streak of gold soared through the air. This was no Dragonite—this was much bigger, much more beautiful. And Iris was determined to catch it.

“What?” she barely managed to get out between heavy breaths as the unidentified Dragon Pokemon touched down in a clearing ahead of her. As the dragon hovered to a landing, the wind from the flapping of its wings blew Iris’s hair back. She ducked behind a shrub—both to keep herself from being blown over and to avoid being seen.

The dragon looked around, its slender head tossing sparkling blonde hair to and fro. Its eyes glinted with intelligence. It seemed to be looking for something.

Iris’s hand strayed toward her Poke balls. Axew was back with the group, so she’d have to use a different Pokemon to battle this strange creature. But she had to choose which one carefully… she had to win this.

Before she could properly make her decision, a blinding light suffused the clearing. Iris’s eyes stung as she forced herself not to turn away. She couldn’t let the new dragon out of her sight—couldn’t let it escape.

But as the light faded, the dragon did leave her sight. Where a majestic dragon had stood, suddenly there was a woman—tall, blonde, and wearing a bleached white cloak. The figure looked around and Iris froze, fearing she’d been spotted.

The woman who had taken the place of the dragon stamped her foot. “Where are you, Xellos?” she barked angrily at the woods. “You can’t just teleport me to some strange world and then disappear, you worthless piece of filth!”

She searched around some more, her eyebrows knocking together in agitation. As the woman turned her head, Iris noticed that her blonde hair was exactly the same as the dragon she’d been pursuing.

The woman appeared to have had enough of waiting around. “Fine,” she shouted to the seemingly empty woods. “Have it your way!” She held her gloved hands up to an orb that decorated her cloak. From out of the deep blue of the gem, a brilliant light—the same that had flashed when the dragon disappeared—began to glow. “I’ll find you myself!”

And with that declaration, the light surrounded the figure. When Iris could see again, the woman was once again gone, but the dragon… the dragon was taking to the skies once more.

Iris stood up, gripping a Poke ball. “And I’ll find you myself,” she promised, and raced after the retreating golden creature, determined to follow her wherever she went.

He ran his fingers slowly and softly through her dark, long hair that rivals the night sky. He heard a sound similar to a purr muffled from her throat. Under the warm Kanto sun and the shade of an oak tree outside of Saffron City, she laid on his lap, with closed eyes and a content smile. He wondered how it became like this. When he escaped to Kanto, he wasn't expecting to meet her. He wasn't expecting to be intrigued by a woman two years his senior with a mind he can't look into. He'd like to think of himself as rather good at reading pokemon and people, but he can't ever read her.

He smiled. Maybe this was why he was willing to stay in this city three weeks longer than planned. Or why he loved the company of this bossy woman who can read him more than he could read pokemon. Or why he didn't mind a bit that he was currently her pillow. Or the fact that he preferred her company almost to the level of his pokemons'.

(That was a lie, because he knew deep down, when it came down to it, he would secretly rather spend an hour in silence with this woman over anything.)
