Hilda popped open the top of her Red Bull, looking over the hissing, bubbling can in an expression that was more tired than annoyed at her traveling companion. “You know, you don’t have to keep trying to rescue me, Lucas.”
The younger boy turned from his wary surveillance of the bar. “But those guys were hassling you. I couldn’t just sit there and let it happen. I had to defend you!”
Hilda pinched the bridge of her nose wearily. “Come on, Lucas. Don’t you think I can handle myself? After all, I like the sound of knocking heads together. But you never let me fight my own battles.”
“But you’re—”
“Anyway,” Hilda said, sitting up and looking rather tense, “how am I supposed to deal with my stress if you keep trying to take care of people who make me mad?” She pursed her lips. “That’s not remotely satisfying.”
“But… that’s what I’m supposed to do, isn’t it?” Lucas asked, almost uncertainly. “Fight your battles for you?” Not that he was terribly good at it, when you got right down to it, but well… weren’t there certain standards that had to be upheld?
Hilda sighed. “I know you’re only doing it because you care, but whenever you interfere like that it always… well, it always feels like you really care for some… weepy, wilting flower. Some kind of damsel-type character that is…” she shook her head. “Just… not me at all. I can defend myself just fine. So when you’re trying to defend me you’re really just caring about someone you think I should be.”
Lucas stared at her. It all seemed so… backwards. But yet, wasn’t Hilda’s strength one of the things that had drawn him to her in the first place?
A meaty hand slammed down on the table before them. They both looked up into the drink-addled face of a man whose skin was as leathery as his wardrobe. He leered at Hilda. “Hey there, babe,” was his eloquent introduction. “You’re so hot you’re on fire.” He raised one pierced eyebrow. “Wanna stop, drop, and roll together?”
Hilda’s nostrils flared, taking in the man’s sour breath. “You have got to be kidding me,” she said, unimpressed.
“Aww, come on, baby,” the biker continued, hunkering down so as to look at her eye to eye.
“Hey,” Lucas said harshly, addressing a man twice his size. “Leave her alone.”
The biker blearily turned toward Lucas, seemingly having trouble focusing on him. “What’re you going to do about it if I don’t?”
Lucas’s shoulders bunched together angrily. “I’ll…” Well, he’d probably get the snot beat out of him if he tried anything, but before he could launch into an actual threat he heard a cough from Hilda’s direction.
He looked at her. He looked back at the biker. He sighed and then… he let go.
“He’s all yours, Hilda,” he said meekly.
“Alright,” Hilda said with a grin, cracking her knuckles.
The biker raised his eyebrows at the slender girl. “Wha… so I’m all yours?” He grinned stupidly. “Then you can have me!”
“Here’s the only chance you’re going to get,” Hilda said, deciding to be fair. “Why don’t you just forget you saw me and go pawn your disgustingness off somewhere else? Drunken morons aren’t my type. So get lost before you get hurt.”
The biker laughed. “What… so the little girl is going to beat me up now? I’d like to see you try!”
Hilda stood up, cracking her back as she rose. “You shouldn’t mess with me,” she warned. “After all, I have a record.”
“You?” The man snorted. “What’d you do? Shoplift some gum?”
“Actually…” she trailed off slowly.
Then she jettisoned her leg upward where it connected painfully with the biker’s crotch. The man slumped to the ground, sending a ripple of dust into the air as he hit the floor.
Hilda stepped over the prone figure and took a celebratory swig of her drink. She winked at Lucas. “I killed chivalry.”

We always teased each other.
"Ash, you're such a pig when you eat."
"At least I don't look like one! Ha!"
It was always in good fun. We may have constantly thrown insults at each other over the years, but we are still largely the same Ash and Misty from way back then. He was the immature one while I had common sense backing me up.
"What are you implying, Ash Ketchum...?" I balled my hand into a fist and whacked the back of his head. A large bump formed on his cranium and he rubbed it to soothe the pain. He deserved it.
"Ow ow ow... Jeez, you're such a violent girl," he grumbled, "but that's what makes you Misty, I guess." His signature smile with the power to cheer up even the most depressed person on Earth melted my heart every time.
Things haven't changed since we were kids, and I'm grateful for that.

"Hey, Brock?"*
Brock looked up from the guidebook he'd been poring over for hours, and seeing the petite figure of Max his eyes hidden under his glasses which were reflecting the light from the sunlight, replied "Yeah, what?"
"Um, how do you tell if you're in love with someone?" Max asked nervously, a blush creeping up on his pale cheeks, as he shuffled his feet.*
Brock was, inevitably, rather taken aback - he'd never heard of a nine-year-old asking someone about love. But then, this was Max, after all, the little know-it-all who probably had double the intelligence of Ash.*
"Well," Brock began, smiling slightly as Lucy's soft and smiling face appeared inside his head, "you know when you're in love when... when you want to be with them all the time, and... when you really care for them and can't stop thinking about them, I guess..."
Max's blushed reddened even more. But... those were the exact same feelings he felt around his sister, May. Surely he couldn't be in love with his own sister? He wasn't supposed to love her - it was wrong. And after all, siblings were supposed to bicker, not be in love.*
But then, the world he lived in seemed to defy all logic.*

I've always had a thing for 'bad boys', the boys who never seemed to give a damn about life and other people. He ignored the little things and always aimed for higher, always aimed for the best. He never settled for anything less, plain and simple. The power he emanated completely enraptured me along with the strength he demonstrated in his Pokemon battles.
There was no mistaking it: He was my ideal man. What did it matter that he was cold and silent? I could make any guy's heart melt with just a snap of my fingers.
The first time I met him face-to-face I put my charms to the test.
"Hey, you're Paul right? You look much more handsome in person..." I smiled at him and fluttered my eyes a bit. Being subtle is the only way to sneak into a boy's heart. Give too much and it only backfires on you.
"Do I know you?" he said with no real interest. Ooh, he's hard to get, eh? We will see about that.
"Oh, the name's Ursula. You don't know me, but now you do," I said, winking at him playfully. Loosening him up would do the trick; let him know I wasn't after a relationship, but was open to the possibility.
"...Well I suppose I do now."
"...Eh?" I wasn't expecting that. I had heard he was cold, cruel, and paid no attention to strangers. Why did he seem like he was being...polite?
"..." He was silent and I was nervous. His hard onyx eyes bore into mine and I couldn't take the awkward silence anymore.
"W-well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask if you'd like to...accompany me out for a quick lunch?" I fumbled with the ends of one of my twisted pink pigtails, attacked by the sudden feeling of butterflies tickling my stomach while my face heated up with a brilliant blush. Why did I suddenly feel so meek and small? This wasn't me. I never acted this way. Was it because of him?
"I'll think about it." He walked around me without sparing a second glance.
"I'll think about it." I grinned. I just knew that was his way of saying "Yes."

On one warm day in Spring in a field of green meadows, a girl named White stood in full glow of the gentle sunlight waiting for someone. Someone who was very close to her heart. That person was a boy called Black.
It had been two months since Black and White had seen each other. Whenever she would think of him, which seem to be all the time, she would wondered if he ever thought of her too. The Pokemon he had left in her care, a Braviary, would act as a constant reminder of the trainer it once belonged to. With every glance of those beautiful feathers, that precious beak and those sharp claws, she could see Black in the back of her mind. It was the perfect way to remember him and miss him in equal measures. You see, Braviary is just like him. A fighter. A strong one and a determined one at that.
Everything she wasn't.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, in her desperate attempt to see Black again, she had called him on the Xtransceiver a few days ago. During their phone exchange, she suggested a battle between the two. She knew he could not pass up a chance of a battle and the day they would meet for this arranged battle had come at last. He was on his way to meet her and, while she waited in the grassy field, White stood there soundly looking up at the sky.
"Daydreaming again?" said a familiar voice from behind her. White hoped it was who she thought it was. She smiled and slowly turn around to face the voice. It was Black. The one she had been waiting for. Her smile grew into a wide open grin. In that exact moment, she quickly embraced him so tightly that it took him by surprise.
"It's good to see you too," he awkwardly exclaimed. Embarassed by her seemly uncontrollable urge of hold him, she quickly backed away trying to regain her composure.
"I guess I got a little too excited. I didn't think you was coming," she told him, hoping he would not detect the true reasons for that sudden display of affection. Her feelings for him.
"And miss this. No way," he chuckled, "Well, I've been meaning to visit you again and when you called me for a battle, I knew I had to come".
"Oh, about that," she twitched nervously, "I don't think I'm ready for it after all". Of course, she would not dare tell him that her promise of a battle was simply a ruse to get his attention.
"It's fine. I understand," he spoke softly with compassion.
"I'm so sorry for dragging you away from your journey for nothing," she said as her voice was breaking. She knew he would be disappointed by her calling off their battle, yet she still could not face her fear of participating in a Pokemon battle. She was ashamed for not having fulfilled her end of the bargain and, just when she thought he would be upset at her for tricking him, he ended up surprising her instead.
"You really think I came all this way just for a battle?" She did not answer. "No. I came to see you," he exclaimed with such clarity and zest.
"Really?" she questioned him, as she could not quite believe it. He nodded his head with a little smile on his face. She looked deep into his eyes to know that he was genuine. It seems that he had been missing her too. With that delightful thought neatly resting in her mind, her face lit up. In that blissful moment they shared, she felt for the first time that he could like her as much as she liked him. Since he had given her such wonderful hope, she felt that she needed to give him something in return for making her so happy.
"I promise, one day, we will have a battle," she assured him. It was a promise she intended to keep. A promise made soley for him.
Drew had barely taken one step out of the Pokémon Centre of Opelucid City, ready to perform at the soon-to-start Spring Festival which he had to be ready for by an hour's time, dressed in a black tuxedo and his hair raised at the front to form three short rods, when he was suddenly approached by a girl with thick, long, purple hair and brownish skin in a cheerful, delighted manner that should only be used in front of friends.*
"Cilan, come on, we can't be late for the Festival!" the strange-looking girl exclaimed, tugging the bewildered Drew's arm. Before he could do anything to protest, she latched onto him and started dragging him away to the Festival. "Um, excuse me!" Drew shouted, but the girl either didn't hear him or decided to promptly ignore him; either way, she didn't stop once.*
"Hey, Cilan, are you excited?" the girl said, not once loosening her grip on Drew. "I've heard that famous coordinators from all over the world are gonna come and put up a performance, and that there's gonna be a battle between Alder and Cynthia... And have you heard of this guy called Drew? He's really famous in Hoenn and Johto, you know..."
"And I happen to be that Drew-" Drew began, but was immediately silenced by the stranger who continued chatting to him. The exasperated coordinator promptly gave up trying to convince her that he wasn't whoever Cilan was.*
"...He's won a few Grand Festivals, apparently. You know May? May Maple? You know, that brunette Ash travelled with? He's her rival, Ash said that. She even has a crush on him, apparently-" Drew gagged at that and stared at the girl, who didn't even look up- "-and he's too dense to realise. Poor girl! Oh yeah, she's coming too. And Dawn. You know, the one with the navy blue hair, the one Ash talks about all the time? Yeah, her as well..."
Drew sighed as he listened to the stranger ramble on about this coordinator, that trainer, this guy, that girl. As annoyed as he was, he decided to keep his cool and pretend that he was this Cilan guy, after all. And anyway, the girl looked kinda cute...*
'Screw May's feelings,' Drew thought, and immediately started planning his flirting methods on the girl. He'd make his first move the moment she noticed that he wasn't Cilan.*
A young boy with messy violet hair stared blankly at the tiny wallet-sized picture in his palm. He didn't know what to make of it. Should he return it to his rival Ash, or keep it and save himself the awkwardness of confronting him with it?
One thing was for certain, he definitely wasn't expecting to be in possession of a picture of Ash in a maid dress by the end of the day.
"No fair." He spoke. "Just when i have the guts to give Falkner a gift, i can't afford it." Morty felt like ripping his bandana off his head. "Why do we gym leaders get paid so cheap!"
"Morty?" Morty turned to the voice.
Morty always liked Falkner but he couldn't find the words to say what he felt towards him. Falkner gazed at Morty in confusion. He wondered why Morty's face was all red. He thought he had a fever but it was the middle of summer. Getting such a cold wouldn't make any sense.
"I was just passing by!" Morty panicked.
"You want one?" Falkner laughed at his friend's question.
"Maybe when i was five." He continued on to laugh. "But i am a big fan of Ho-oh. I would love to see one. Morty smiled.
"Hey, why don't we head to Bell Tower? Before your birthday. Legends say that is the home to Ho-oh."
“Ow!” Iris cried as a boot clomped down on her shoe.
Georgia stumbled as she lost her balance on the uneven surface that was another human being’s foot. She barely righted herself in time to avoid falling over. “Geez, watch where you’re going. Are all dragon-type trainers that clumsy or are you just the odd clod out?”
“Excuse me, but you walked into me!” Iris shouted back, incensed.
Georgia ignored this comment and began brushing herself off, though she hadn’t actually fallen on the ground. She looked up in time to see someone’s eyes on her. “What are you looking at?” she asked with eyes narrowed.
Stephan froze for just a moment in the face of this accusatory tone, but shrugged a second later. “There’s no law against looking at someone, is there?”
Georgia crossed her arms. “That depends,” she said shortly. “If you’re doing it from outside someone’s window, then—”
Stephan stared at her, nonplussed. “…How do you go from me just glancing at you to me being a stalker?”
Iris clenched her fists and glared at Georgia. “Why do you always have to treat people like that? You know he’s not the kind of person who’d do something like that.”
Georgia shrugged. “Maybe. I don’t really know him, so he might.”
Iris exploded as Stephan’s mouth hung open in annoyed surprise. “Are you kidding me?! Are you saying you don’t even remember him from the tournament?”
“Of course I do,” Georgia answered in a superior tone. “He’s…”
Stephan tensed up as he always did whenever someone was about to say his name. Sure he seemed to be cursed punctuation-wise, but Georgia had a good eye for detail so certainly she would…
“…Dave, right?” Georgia finished.
Iris went limp and Stephan literally fell to the ground, tears of frustration streaming down his cheeks.
“That’s not even close!” Iris yelled. “It’s Steven!”
“Whatever,” Georgia said with a shrug.
Stephan very slowly hoisted himself off the ground by his arms. Yes, he was used to people getting his name wrong, but for some reason… this last instance from Georgia hit harder than any other time.
Serperior's Diary, 15/3/12, Weather: Sunny
Dear Diary,
Eh, Cheren's finally proposed to Hilda. Finally. I think we should be celebrating this, right? I mean, they've been in love with each other for like, I dunno, 9 years now. I think. Or maybe 10. I've lost track.*
You should've seen Hilda when Cheren proposed to her. Dear god, she squealed a lot. She jumped up and down so much, it was kinda funny, actually. Then they made out... again. At least they were in the ferris wheel this time. It's so embarrassing when they snog in the public... Bleugh. Even Bisharp flinches, and he can withstand most disgusting things.*
I'm dreading the publicity they'll receive, you know, all the interviews and that. That will be painful at least. It definitely isn't all fun and games being the champion's Starter Pokémon, you know. And Cheren is the new Subway Master... Ugh... So many photo shoots! I am absolutely dreading it.*
Well, at least they're together now. It makes me so happy to see them together and be all fluffy and lovey dovey. It's not that disgusting, actually. Occasionally they can be subtle and cute. I've waited for this day ever since I saw that Cheren was in love with Hilda... Wow, time flies past so quickly...
Obviously, Bianca was overjoyed when she heard the news. Hilbert... Not so much. I don't think he approves of Cheren, really. Maybe he has nerdophobia.*
A man in a long, lavish robe was standing in the middle of the town square in Opelucid City.
His long hair tickled his neck as the man silently seethed with rage at the young girl before him.
Who was she to defy him in plain sight? A foolish, arrogant girl.
A lunatic, she had called him. Who would honestly believe the dravel that releasing your pokémon, who had been through thick and thin with you, would make them truly happy.
Apparently, she was not foolish enough.
As silly and self-confident as the girl was, she had a certain presence about her. Perhaps just a natural charisma born of arrogance. But she was winning the people with her arguments.
Not good. For her.
He smiled as he left, feigning politeness.
The girl was not lucky. Had he not already a choice for his pawn's final opponent,
perhaps the girl would be of interest. But Hilbert, as odd a name as it was, was the chosen foe.
The girl was just a nuisance with just a bit too much charisma. A hazard to his plan.
And did he ever hate when something risked the plot he had put his whole life into.
Suddenly, he seemed to talk to the very air.
"Take her out. Discreetly. Bring me her pretty head as confirmation that the task has been... completed."
As if out of nowhere, three men was gathered unto him.
"It will be done, Lord Ghetsis" said the three members of the Shadow Triad.
"Oh, and do not forget her hat." said Ghetsis with a wistful tone. "I haven't seen anyone wear one like that since my late wife."
As the girl entered her hotel room, she said to herself, "I wonder if that 'Dragon Master' will ever arrive. It's boring here without her."
And then everything went black.
EDIT: I may actually continue this. It will likely keep following Ghetsis, though with interruptions from other characters such as the main heroes and rivals. Oh, and of course, N and Hilbert. And possibly Hilda as well.
He was so beatuiful, she never thought she would see him in a suit or bring her to such a party. It was his victory party and to him, she was no longer but another trainer that would challenge him for a small badge. But somehow, as they battled she felt something towards him. She couldn't decided if it was butterfiles in her stomach because of such a fancy party or if it was Gary himself.
Leaf began to tap her fingers on the table with a wineglass in the another. She watched the red wine swirling and hoping that it would make time go faster, but it didn't. Leaf glared at the other woman Gary danced with. When he would bow and ask them to dance with him they would faint or scream or...both. Leaf sighed at how patetic the girls were and took another drink from her glass. she slammed the empty glass on her table afterwards. She looked at her dress. It was much more simple and boring compared to the other guests Gary had invited. He knew she only came from a poor background and coming to fancy place was only a place she would dream of.
Leaf gazed at the girls Gary danced with and the fancy dress they wore. They were covered in rich ribbons and sequences that just dazzeled under the spotlight. she looked at her plain teal dress with a loose red ribbon around her waist. Why did she care about what she wore? Why did she care about what Gary would say when he would see her? Why was she even thinking about him? Perhapes he was thinking about him because not once in the whole night has he even said a simple hello. Leaf stood up and kicked her seat backwards a little and glared at Gary.
She was leaving. That was final.
Leaf dusted her dress and began to walk from her table when she felt somebody grab her wrist. She didn't look back and felt his hands slowly slipping into hers. Why did her heart start to race when he held her hand like that? Leaf thought that it was another of his tricks to ger more fangirls for him. But then suddenly he dragged her to him and wrapped his arms around her.
"Where do you think your going? I haven't even said hello yet." Leaf turned around while still in his arms and yelled.
"I've been here for the past hour and now you said hello?!" She screamed. "Took your time!" Gary laughed.
"Your really cute when you get angry like that." Leaf blushed. She tried to scramble out of his grasp but Gary refused. "You can leave once we dance."
"I-I can't dance!" Leaf panicked. Gary continued to laugh. "Let me go! I'm nothing but a pokemon trainer! A simple girl with a dream to become a pokemon champion and your nothing but a gym leader, now champ. Why pick me out of all of the girls here? Their pretty, famous, rich." Gary smiled.
"Yeah, half of the girls are way more prettier that you, richer than you, smarter too but," Leaf pouted. "but your a wonderful person, your simple. That's what i like." Gary walked away and bowed. "So may i have this dance with you, Leaf?"
Leaf placed his hand on his and tried to stop her smile. It was only one battle that made them become good friends, after that battle she felt they connected. After she won her badge she didn't want to leave that gym. She could never understand why she found it diffcult to leave that town. But after that battle, just when she was leaving he grabbed her by her hand, just the same way he had done tonight.
That was when he invited her to his victory party of being the newest champion of the Kanto region. He wanted to have one last battle in his gym before moving into the league and she just happen to be that person.
As the music played he placed his hand on her waist and held his hand high and they began to dance. Leaf nervously placed her hand on his waist and both danced in time. the spotlight fell on them both but she dind't seem to notice. She promised she wouldn't fall like that espcially to a man known for making other girls cry but she felt something different with him. But she knew that the dance she shared with him was the start of something new. Little did she know that he had just waltz into her heart without her noticeing. A dance they would share forever.
Pairing/s: Cheren x Bianca Rating: G
I have been waiting for the day I would hear the news of their get-together since the day I realised they were so obviously perfect for each other.
I’m not really one to play matchmaker, but for my two best friends who are so very, very clearly in love, exceptions had to be made. Even though we went our separate ways when we got our first Pokémon, my efforts to get my dear friends Cheren and Bianca together would not end.
Life has a funny way of doing its own things with destined people like them.
So the other day, I got a call on my X-Transceiver from none other than Bianca, who is squealing and seems very much pleased. She’s far too excited to actually physically tell me why she’s so excited, so I had to dump all plans of getting my sixth gym badge to go and find her so she can tell me.
Though naturally when she does tell me, a very loud and fast blurting out of “Cheren said he liked me!” and then something along the lines of a date which I couldn’t hear because I started squealing and jumping as well.
I mean, clearly this was partly my doing. It was me who had shoved them in a closet together on their own for twelve minutes; it was me who got them both to deal with Team Plasma on their own while I went off to catch a Minccino.
I’m such a genius.
So for the days after, I follow them – not stalk, I’m just observing to make sure nothing goes wrong! – on their date. And it is adorable. I never knew Cheren could be the romantic type.
He pays, he orders for her, he offers her his jacket when she’s cold. It’s like something out of a romance novel.
I finally have to turn away and walk off, giggling to myself, when night falls over them and they kiss under the stars.
Short, but I tried. :P Done for Flame Mistress as a dare.~
"So Ash,What are you planning on doing next huh?" Dawn asked him making Ash turn his head to her. Ash smiled at her for a bit.
"Don't know what I'm going to do after this. I'm sure Paul thinks that I'm weak and patheic. I promised to win but I lossed. How can I face him now. It feels like I am weak and a loser. Don't blame Paul for thinking that." A footstep was heard.
"Is that what you think Ash?" Ash's eyes were wided open when he saw Paul standing right behind him. "Tobias was a great trainer with experenice but you were the only trainer who defeated two of the toughest legendaries around. I think that you are strong and better than Tobias no matter what." Dawn was shocked to hear this from Paul. This is the nicest thing he has say about Ash. Even though Dawn had a crush on Ash, she knows that she will never get Ash but she can always dream. Ash just smiled at Paul and reached out his hand.
"Rivals until the end. Right Paul?" Ash asked and Paul smiled as he reached out his hand.
"Yeah. Rivals until the end.
Name: In Love With A Girl
Author: Flame Mistress
Fandom: Pokémon (Mystery Dungeon, to be more specific)
Pairing: Eevee x Zorua (both female)
Rating: PG? PG-13? Yuri, anyway.
Notes: Dare from Whimsicotton. Very short. Probably the only Yaoi/Yuri fic I'll ever write.
Zorua's Diary, 16/3/12, Weather: Cloudy
Dear Diary,
I'm... I'm not sure what to do. I'm just so, so confused. Is it bad that I have feelings for Eevee? But she's my partner. I shouldn't have feelings for her. She's only supposed to be my sidekick on adventures, the one who helps me out. Just a best friend, that's all.
And she's a girl like me.
I remember, back when I was still a little cub, two gay Pokémon in my village were burned on a stake - just because of their sexuality. Just because they were in love with each other. Just because they were defying nature's laws. I remember telling myself that I won't ever grow up to be like them. But now, look at me. I'm in love with a fellow female. And I shouldn't be.
I'm so, so confused.
Oh, Arceus... If my secret was out, they'd kill me for sure, like they killed those gay Pokémon. Now I wish I hadn't even met Eevee. Why did I have to fall in love with her? Just why? Why her? I swear, there are lots of fit guys in the Guild. Like... Luxio. He's pretty cute. And Quilava. But... I just had to pick Eevee. A girl.
I don't know what I'll tell Eevee... Our friendship will be totally ruined. She's a homophobe, remember? I mean, she thinks that all gay and lesbian Pokémon should be killed on the spot. I can just imagine her disgusted face. She'll spit in my face, stomp off, and probably tell everyone else that I'm gay. She'll get everyone to kill me. Stone me to death.
Title: Wrong Turn
Author: Skiyomi
Fandom: Pokemon/Slayers
Pairing: Xellos/Lyra
Rating: G
Note: Dare from PikaPal_Lyra
Spoiler:- Xellos/Lyra:
It can be embarrassing for men in general to admit that they’re lost, perhaps even more so for thousand-plus-year-old demons who should know better. Xellos had had a nagging feeling he’d taken a wrong turn as he took a shortcut through the astral side. He’d meant to come out in Seyruun city… maybe play tourist for awhile, have some delicious soft-serve ice cream and cause some kind of riot or something. You know, fun.
But when he’d rematerialized in the physical world he knew he’d landed somewhere other than Seyruun. The wall-to-wall trees were the biggest tip-off. He’d hoped for a moment that he’d only made a slight misstep when those hopes were suddenly dashed by the appearance of a teenage girl making her way through the bushes with a circular blue creature following behind her.
She stopped as she saw him and suddenly Xellos knew that he wasn’t in Red World anymore. The clothing was far too different and he was fairly sure his native world didn’t have any creatures like the little one following the girl. …Fairly sure—Pokota had shaken his confidence on that slightly.
“Excuse me, Miss?” he said. “Could you tell me where I am?”
The girl looked around, confused. “The Ilex Forest?” she said as though it were utterly obvious.
Xellos looked at her with polite incomprehension before deciding that asking what world this was would probably not get him anywhere. “Ah well, of course. Thank you, Miss,” he said, before turning to find the answers he needed on his own.
“Hey wait!” she called after him. “Are you crazy or something? You don’t have any Pokemon with you—you can’t just go through a forest like this on your own without a Pokemon to protect you. It’s dangerous!”
Xellos smiled grimly. He didn’t know what a Pokemon was, but he was relatively confident that he was the most dangerous thing in this world at the moment. “Oh dear,” he said, not fessing up to this fact. “I had no idea, Miss uh…” he looked at her questioningly.
“Lyra,” she said. “And you’re?”
“Xellos,” Xellos answered and, never one to waste a perfectly good introduction, added, “a mysterious priest.”
Lyra didn’t seem nearly as affected by his “be suspicious of me!” introduction as she should’ve been. She seemed too caught off-guard by his identification as ‘priest.’ “Oh, I’m sorry, Father Xellos!” she said, perhaps feeling some guilt for her now disrespectful-seeming ‘crazy’ comment. “I had no idea!”
Xellos frowned at the epithet attached to his name. He was over a thousand years old and didn’t need some teenage girl making him feel older. “I’m not really the ‘father’ kind of priest,” he explained. “I don’t do any of that vow of charity and poverty and chastity kind of thing.”
Lyra looked perplexed. How could a person be a priest without doing those things? “Then what kind of priest are you?” she asked.
Xellos waved a gloved index finger at her. “That is a secret,” he quipped.
She stared at him, unsure of whether she should laugh or not. “…Really?” she asked.
“Absolutely,” he confirmed. “Now… is there perhaps a place around here that you could guide me to so that I could get my bearings back?” he asked.
“Well sure…” Lyra said. “I’m headed to Azalea Town anyway, and there’s a Pokemon Center there.”
“Excellent!” Xellos said with a smile.
Lyra led the way with Xellos just a step behind her. The little blue creature had hopped up into Lyra’s arms, slightly troubled by their new traveling companion and the malevolent aura he projected like nobody’s business.
Xellos took in his surroundings with blissful curiosity. Sure, things had taken a wrong turn, but this world might be just as good a place to relax and cause chaos as Seyruun. He chuckled to himself at the thought.
Lyra turned around and gave him an odd look. “What’s with the evil giggling?” she asked.
“Oh, never you mind,” Xellos said slyly.
Pairing: MiakaneShipping (Jasmine/Whitney)
Rating: G
Note: Dare from PikaPal_Lyra.
Spoiler:- MiakaneShipping:
A plastic platter with nothing but a greasy paper towel to separate it from the food that was piled on it was placed on the counter in front of Jasmine. The contents of the tray featured a veritable cornucopia of breaded and deep fried foods. There were onion rings, there were chicken wings slathered with tangy buffalo sauce, there were mozzarella wedges with cheese oozing out from gaps in the breading, there were fried pickles, fried mushroom bites, and bacon-encrusted potato wedges. Her hands twitched as the smell made her mouth involuntarily start to water.
She stopped her hand before it could grasp onto any of the savory treats. She looked around at her seat-mates, embarrassed that they might’ve seen her about to lunge for the platter. She’d hate for them to think that she ate too much… and besides that, it would be rude to take too much—the platter was for them all to share.
Lyra didn’t seem to notice—she was too busy dipping her mozzarella wedge into the generous cup of marinara sauce. But of course she wasn’t being shy about it. She was ravenous when she met up with Jasmine and Whitney—being on the road a long time without a good meal can do that to a person. So they’d gone down to Olivine Café to get a good meal in her before she caught the boat to Cianwood City and before Whitney had to go on her way too.
Whitney… now she was looking at Jasmine as though she’d noticed something. Jasmine froze, hoping that her fellow gym leader hadn’t noticed her barely checked food frenzy. Whitney would probably have noticed the signs a lot more easily. They ran into each other pretty frequently since Whitney ended up in the area whenever she visited the MooMoo Farm.
Oh no, Jasmine panicked. What if she was in town and she saw me in the window of the café eating one of these samplers all by myself?! She must think I’m a pig!
“Hey Jazzy,” Whitney said, munching on an onion ring, “why aren’t you eating?”
Jasmine could barely find her voice. “I… I…” She looked at her hands. “I just want to make sure that there’s enough for everyone.”
“Aw, come on! There’s plenty here!” Whitney answered. “Go on and eat as much as you want—if we need to then we can always order more.”
Jasmine wanted to hide her face in her hands. “I couldn’t possibly…”
“Sure you could!” Whitney insisted. “You just need to let yourself go and have a little fun. In fact…” She rapped on the table until she got the waitress’s attention. “Get us a round of something mind-numbing alcoholic with a bunch of fruit tossed into it,” she said, then, as an afterthought, added, “and little umbrellas in ‘em too!”
“Really, I don’t think I should—” Jasmine tried.
“Don’t worry so much about everything!” Whitney countered with a grin. “Let’s just have fun!”
“…Fun?” Jasmine repeated weakly.
“Yeah, fun!” Whitney affirmed. “So go on and eat as much as you want because we’re gonna—” she cut herself off as she stared at the suddenly empty platter.
Both Jasmine and Whitney numbly turned their gazes to Lyra whose mouth was full and whose hat, which she’d placed in front of her, was fuller. Hanging out of the brim of the hat was half an onion ring sitting on a pile of potato wedges and chicken wings.
Lyra swallowed the fried food in her mouth hurriedly and looked slightly embarrassed. “You know… I just wanted to save some food for later, that’s all,” she said, grinning as she blushed.
Note: 'Twas a dare. Sorry if it sucks, whoever dared me.
Spoiler:- weee:
"Oh, where is it..." The brunette wandered aimlessly around as her eyes searched every nick and cranny of the Contest Hall lobby. The green-haired boy and flamboyant young man also searched the room, wondering how was it that they managed to work together - if you could even call it working together - to help find May's Ribbon Case. A whirlwind of events had landed them in a position in which neither of them could have refused the pitiful sobbing girl pleading for their assistance; it was very uncharacteristic of her, and had stunned them into complying with her wishes without question.
May's hand hovered and felt the ground underneath a bench in one corner of the room, and the bandana-clad girl was just about to give up when the tip of her finger felt something solid. Her eyes widened with glee. "Found it!"
The two young men twisted at the sound of her voice and were both met with small arms wrapping around each of them, forming a group hug between the trio. Drew blushed, uncomfortable, and Harley returned the hug with great enthusiasm, encasing the two teens with his wide, lanky arms.
"Thanks you two, for helping me out."
"...It was nothing, May." "You're welcome, darling!" May giggled at the two.
They were not so bad after all.
Title: Exciter
Fandom: Pokemon
Pairing: Karen x Lyra
Rating G
The two girls swam across the lake of rage. Karen felt protected by the bad image of her team. She liked Lyra, she used her favourites, not what was easy to catch or what was popular. Strong or weak pokemon were just a perception from amateur trainers. Real trainers would try and win with their favourites, like Lyra. There were many water pokemon that could outclass Azumarill, but she won with her because they were partners.
Karen was known as the dark mistress of the elite four. That didn't mean she only used dark pokemon. She used vileplume, gengar, magmar, victreebel and slowro to name a few. She used them because she liked them.
Karen was going to take Lyra into a place that she would never forget. One night in heaven or hell. They had been swimming for hours. Lyra panted and began to have these outbursts of swimming fast then floating steady. The lake began to swallow her shoulders. Lyra's coughs alerted Karen into swimming towards her and carrying Lyra to the shore.
"Even though you're not a great swimmer, you did well." Karen placed Lyra onto the shore and jumped up by herself. She placed Lyra in her arms and started walking into the cave ahead.
Title: Fake Denial
Author: Flame Mistress
Fandom: Pokemon
Pairing: Black x Skyla
Rating: PG-13 as the incredible suckishness of this drabble alone might shock some young readers. ...Alright, alright, it's G, I know.
Note: A dare from a looooooooooong time ago.
~~~~~~~~
“So when’s your date gonna be, Black?”
Black silently cursed himself for not remembering to turn off his phone as the same message from Bianca for the sixty-seventh time (he counted) popped up on the screen of his C-Gear. Glaring at the device, he clicked the ‘delete’ button yet again, an exasperated sigh escaping his mouth as the message disappeared from the monitor, and stuffed it into his rucksack as far as it could go.
Bianca had been sending the message ever since Black had implied that he kind of liked Skyla, the irresistible and extremely attractive Gym Leader of Mistralton City. There was a clear difference between implying that he kind of liked her and saying that he actually liked her, right? Sometimes Bianca just didn’t look into things enough. He had only implied it, not outright said it. And sixty-seven times? Seriously? Black knew that his best friend was bubbly and all, but this was way too much.
But you do like her, a voice whispered inside his head. “Shut up,” Black hissed, annoyed. He shook his head in disbelief. Great, now even his conscience was telling him to confess that he liked Skyla. He obviously had hit his head too hard on the ground when he had fallen off his bed the night before. He made a mental reminder to go to the nearest hospital to get his brain treated. Sighing once again, he stuck his hands in his pockets and continued his walk down Mode Street towards the Pokémon Centre, kicking a pebble in frustration as he went. “Oi!” someone yelled at him, but he promptly decided to ignore the shout.
You love Skyla, you love Skyla, you love Skyla, his conscience continued to chant. Moaning, he clamped his hands over his ears, and carried on – he didn’t care if people were staring at him, he just wanted that voice out of his head immediately. He tried to plug his ears, make himself dizzy, hit his head, even shout at the top of his voice to block out the noise, but nothing came out of it, except for perhaps a picture or two of him acting like a drunken idiot. Defeated, he eventually gave up and let the voice sing on.
He eventually arrived at the Pokémon Centre, and logged in to his account on the PC to check and delete the emails he had received from the League and countless fangirls for that day – once you were the Champion of Unova, privacy wasn’t in your dictionary anymore. He began sorting out all his emails when he noticed one that, surprisingly, did not begin with the words “Dear Sir” or “OMG I luv u sooooo much”. This was a very rare occasion indeed for Black these days, and half-mystified and half-excited, he opened the email.
“Hey Black! This is Skyla here, got your email from Prof. J. Sorry, I know you’re busy, but do you mind if you come over for dinner with me tonight at-“
He didn’t need to be told twice. He closed the email, withdrew his Unfezant, logged off and headed out straight away towards Mistralton City. Even though he was in denial to everyone else right now, even to himself, he wasn’t going to hide anything from Skyla. Not ever.
