I get what you're saying, but I still have the age problem. I just don't agree with the idea of ten-year-olds dating. If they allowed time to move foreward and they let them actually be 14 or older then I'd definitely say that the show could go on with their relationship in the background in the manner you've suggested. I think it's iffy as things are.

Then again, I have very strongly held views that you shouldn't rush out of childhood. Ten is a good age, teenagerdom not so much. I hate to see younger people cutting their childhood's short. That's part of the reason I wouldn't be interested in them dating so early. I realize that this is a personal view that not everyone is as bogged down by age.

To answer my own question...

What would you imagine as a Pokeshipping moment for the final ending theme when Pokemon does end (however far down the line that may be)?

I wouldn't say no to a time skip with a strong suggestion of them being in a relationship. But really, all I'd need, would be a shot of the two standing together, holding hands, looking at each other and then glancing determinedly into the future. Especially if it came after shots of the other girls doing things independently or within the other groups they've established through the series.

And that, I think, is an image that could happen at any age.

There has always been a chance, that Ash and Misty would get together, but focussing the anime completely on their relationship would never happen. Its pretty obivous.
When the shipping is on the background, you could really well continue the anime after Ash and Misty had admited their feelings for each other. Even though it wouldnt be as fun to watch (as Ash and Misty giving shippy hints), the show would still be good enough.

Now obviously I wouldn't be having them make out excessively, or implying that they are if that's your concern, but I don't think light kisses or holding hands is to risque or mature. I'm not at all worried about adult nature. Even if they were of more what I'd considered "dating age" I'd doubt very much that they'd be a PDA couple just based on their personalities. Not only that, but things are filtering through a cartoon show that would keep that to a minimum. Let me stress that things getting risque is not a concern of mine at all.

It's not something that's entered into seriously or really understood that well. I don't want that for Ash and Misty. I want Ash and Misty to enter into a relationship someday, but when they're older and wiser and know what kind of statement they're making. That way I think they have a better chance for success.

I suppose that could work too. The only thing I'd argue is that in Ash and Misty's case their play relationship would be stronger due to traveling together and having to save each other on several occasions (not something that 10 year olds would regularly do) at least to where there's no pretense in how they feel about each other. Otherwise, I concede this debate to you.

And that's exactly the problem the anime is facing here. They need the characters to stay the same age to keep the anime a children's show, but this gets in the way of romance (sub-plots). When the show is in it's final season I could see some kind of progress in character development happening, but the way things are looking now that is till miles away. This has been an issue since the Orange Islands season ended, and the goal of pokemon basically became to keep it going as long as possible. This does not, however, stand in the way of minor hints, or even a reminder that Misty still exists in the form of a letter, an e-mail or a phone call. Such an event is the best we can hope for right now. The last small reference of Misty was, to my knowledge, the lure incident.

Also, if you rewatch older episodes, especially Orange Islands and Kanto episodes, it's clear that Ash and Misty were, and possibly still are, to some extend attracted to eachother, which is something I have not seen with other main characters. In my opinion pokeshipping hints are most likely to be seen in series that don't follow the games, like the Orange Islands. But since the main purpose of the anime is still to promote the games, it will be a long time before such a thing happens. We should hope that such a season will air and that the producers will realise that those seasons are more fun to watch than the commercialised newer generations. Issue-11 out.

Edit: I forgot to tell you guys I had a pokeshippy dream a while ago which I'm trying to write a fic about. I'll put it up when it's done (if it ever gets done), if I think it's good enough.

But since the main purpose of the anime is still to promote the games, it will be a long time before such a thing happens.

It is always possible, that the writers suddenly realises AAML=WIN and in the next ep we would see Ash turning 15 and Misty retuning... lol I wish... but seriously. If the story was about real life, then it might take time, but its ANIME so anything can happen.

My bolded qustionas of lately have been about Ash and his point of views, so I'm going to give Misty her turn for a bolded question. This is brought onby The Misty Mermaid and Pokemon Movie 8.

Even if she viewed it as sweet talk at the time, I think it's a safe bet that Ash really did like Misty in her mermaid get up. But how do you think Misty would react upon seeing Ash as Sir Aaron?

I'd say along her reaction would be along the lines of Ash seeing a kimono dressed Misty.

Yeah, that's the only time i can think of that 4kids changed dialogue to make it shippy, but there are some people who use that and exagerate it and say pokeshipping is just a "fabricated" shipping. -sigh- whatever...

Im really bad at describing people, (expecially with my baaad english.....), but I guess I have to now because I posted right after the topic was made......... so here goes

Ash:
Even though most of the time he acts really childish(well, da hes 10 lol), stupid and clueless, when theres a real situation going on, he usually does the right thing.
He is a real friend. If you dont hate him, he will never hate you.
By looking at BW ep 14, I could say that after like 5-6 years, he still hasnt lost his apetite and still doesnt get it when there is something more important to do than to "get" a new gym badge.
He is brave and never gives up, but sometimes his braveness goes way beyond the line. (...well, somehow he always makes his way out alive from his doings)
He draws alot of attention, because he gets new friends and rivals all the time (and that is because he is the main char of the show).


Misty:
She is really emotional. She understands all romantic things really well and she gets pissed off pretty easily.
Even though she is pretty, she never cares about her looks.
She isnt a wild kind of person, she stays out of all crazy stuff and acts mature.
She is clever and she would propably do well in school.
She tries to show/teach people(Ash) how not to act in certain situations, because it bothers her always, when someone acts stupid.
Despite all the things I just listed, she isnt such a boring character, she too can be really funny and she has a good sence of humour.

All those are based on certain eps, which shows their true selves.
Its kinda hard to describe them any other way.

Funny you should mention that...Cause one of my cosplay ideas for future conventions is "Pokeshipper Misty". I want to cosplay the traditional Misty outfit (tank top, suspenders, shorts, etc.) but the twist would be wearing Ash's original hat and jacket and I was thinking of carrying around Misty's red backpack and I'd put things in there that Misty would be carrying (for instance, the Misty lure, the handkercheif, etc.) And umm, of course I'd want to show them off...I'd take pictures of me doing poses with each thing xD

Already got it covered xD I have a Togepi plushie, my only problem is my hair color, but I'll temporary dye it, of course this will take a while to get everything together, but it'll be worth it...

An update to the AAML Diamond and Pearl. This time, it's the author's version of Keep Your Rotom Running (Which is the first episode of Galactic Battle). And like the previous chapter, another major change from the canon version. And I'm not just talking about the shippy moment.

And for those who haven't read all of the chapters yet, check out chapter 13. Ash and Misty have their first official tag battle together, and the character introduced in that chapter is funny (It's one of the chapters not to be based on an episode).
