First of all, *sigh* we are all very aware that the Japanese writers (especially the older generation) is very sexist (anti-feminist, if you will). Now, I'm a female but I'm not a feminist so I kind of understand the guy's standpoint from a businessman who wants to make money off of little boys that want action and little girls that want fluffy stuff. Since the google translator is very rough in its translation (WHY DID I STOP TAKING JAPANESE?!? T_T) I had to get the jist of it and go from there.
I'm guessing that the director was the original Pokemon director (producer?) ? So according to him, Misty was there for the girls' sake (which i understand) and she was cut off when the show was going on for too long. There was no love interest for Misty as far as Ash goes and there was never any indication of this in the anime. Now, either he smoked some pot or the artists hid their cartooning from him because EVEN those opposed to Misty admit that she had feelings toward Ash and that not only was it hinted in the anime but still to this day.
Am I wrong in assuming that? Please correct me if I am.
I'm sorry sir, but if you want to close your ears and say "its all about Pokemon la-dee-da" then you shouldn't have allowed Pokemon 2000, the Orange Islands, the Misty lure or all the Misty HOSO episodes. There couldn't have been more indication of her feelings there.
I understand his frustration with saying that there can't be romance AND Pokemon but I don't think he can just flat out deny every single assumption of Pokeshipping or Misty's feelings. Misty definitely has or had feelings for Ash and the artists and makers of Pokemon were fully aware of it.
For this article to come up now, especially, of all times, is kinda lame too. Since she's been gone for five years and there's a new director i believe (?) and the Misty lure and everything is just *sigh* it would be idiotic to assume that Misty's existence was weak and that throwing her away did more good than bad.
then again they did the same to May and it will happen to Dawn too so who knows
I tried my best to understand this man but maybe its the Japanese or maybe its just me--but he makes no valid argument (besides, he's not the only one making Pokemon!)
This whole industry is going down the tubes. Pokemon is slowly disintegrating, folks. I say they should end it here and have Ash marry Misty THE END
