I usually just watched it when Sailor Moon was boring.

I WAS OBSESSED WITH SAILOR MOON TOO!

But what really got me thinking about it was the song Don't Say You Love Me on the soundtrack to the first movie.

Yeah when I heard that at the end of 2000 (whcih totally sold me for pokeshipping btw) I was like "hey what's this awesome song?" and then i was like aww this is cute for Misty and Ash!!
I think its funny how a lot of the songs have nothing to do with the movies Christina Aguilera We're a Miracle?? Definitely AAML

What season were you first introduced to during your child years watching Pokemon? Was Misty already separated from Ash? If so, how did you become a Pokeshipper? If not, what episode convinced you?

I started watching the show in the first season, obviously it was still Ash, Misty and Brock. I liked Ash and Misty's characters, but I never really considered Pokeshipping until the 2nd movie. In a second, I was like "Holy Crap! Now all that other stuff makes sense!" and I fell in love with it. A few weeks later I started writing my own fanfiction but didn't post any till a couple years later.

But yeah, the second move sealed it for me. No questions asked. It's still my favorite Pokemon movie hands down.

Pokemon 2000 and GCYL.

What season were you first introduced to during your child years watching Pokemon? Was Misty already separated from Ash? If so, how did you become a Pokeshipper? If not, what episode convinced you?

I started watching Pokemon since first episode in my country (it was in 2000). Then I was 9. I was too young to see love in Pokemon, so I didn't see Pokeshipping. Later when I saw GCYL, I was older and I realized romance between Ash and Misty. I decided to watch all episodes from the begining paying more attention on Pokeshipping hints. I really liked Tower of Terror. Misty cried, because Ash died, that was cute. Of course I watched Pokemon 2000 again and it has become my favourite Pokemon movie.

So, I recently watched Cerulean Blues. Good episode, it really shows Misty's growth and her struggle to be a Gym Leader. Anyway, there's a scene where she's battling the Invincible Pokemon Brothers and their Tentacruel's attack Gyarados who is still in the under water cage. With no regard for her own safety, Misty dives in and takes a dead on tri-poison sting attack. Then one of the Tentacruels tackles her. Keep in mind she's sacrificing herself for a Pokemon she fears and has caused her nothing but problems.

The only person I've seen have that much dedication and sacrifice for their Pokemon is Ash Ketchum. There was that time where he took Mew/Mewtwo's attack in the first movie; had Pikachu shock him in Pikachu Re-volts, and many other times.

Ash and Misty's dedication and sacrifice is another thing that ties them together. Just thought I'd throw that in there. XD

I started watching the first season,still misty is still there with ash and brock. . .
(it usually aired 2000). Before, i never knew that there was a shipping between ash and misty but until the next season came, i quite realize the two of them as a couple,. . specially remembering the first pokemon episode i watched,''ash catches a pokemon''.(where there is an aaml hint along in the episode and so on. . .). . ..

I don't know if it's AaML, but I remember that song. There's this one part where she goes "No one I know imagined we would make it," only she gets so high pitched that it sounds like she's saying "No one I know imagined we were naked." It took me forever to realize what she was saying... I thought it was just me, but it turned out that my cousin thought the same thing. Sorry, I know that has nothing to do with Pokeshipping, but I just had to share

I started watching since the 1 season of Pokemon , back when Ash , Misty and Borck were together in their travels . At first I didn't really cared about what happened between Ash and Misty on the episodes or the hints in general partly because I was still young at that time =P . But After watching Pokemon the Movie 2000 ( Lugia Movie =P ) I rewatched the episodes and was amazed at how many things I missed on the episodes , goes to show that I really needed to mature a bit to notice something there XD . After that I started liking Pokeshipping a bit more every day I watched something new happen or by just discovering something that I missed when I was young . And I still rewatch the episodes just to see those Pokeshipping hints/moments that get me really happy to see them =) .

I started in from the first episode. Pokemon came out about the time I was ten and therefore eligible to go on my very own super-special-awesome Pokemon adventure :P

I can't really pin point the exact time I started liking the pairing. I know that by the time Pokemon 2000 came out I was already a believer since I enjoyed the amount of shippyness. I think before then I just gradually started to like it.

my favourite pokeshipping hints

the entire 2nd movie, you could say it was a big hint in itself and nobody can say Misty doesnt feel for Ash in a romantic way after watching it! i feel the dubbers did a great job with the "he's my burden bit", changing it to, "he'll always have me". it doesnt take the care from Misty's words and yet makes it more appropriate for english viewers. (who will understand the "burden" bit anyway?). Also is Misty getting jealous at a KISS on Ash, the many times i think it was about 3 or 4 times melody telling Misty that she and ash were boyfriend and girlfriend (kiss scene, running to boat scene) and telling her that the 2 would be married (when they encounter ash)

the episodes with rudy and danny. Ash gets jealous, something till date which has not been replicated with any other girl. He is undeniably upset and agitated at rudy when he takes Misty away and the battle for the badge and when Misty appeared to be infatuated with danny. Then in the rudy episode..."im lucky? how"..."you'll find out someday". In japanese, it was "you're so clueless" or something similar. And with danny, he comments "you too seem to be really close"

These show that an AshxMisty romantic relationship subplot was created by the writers and were showing it extensively in the orange isles series, but obviously, extending it into a kiss or future marriage would be too much for the target young audience. so, pokeshipping IS canon. or will be the best a romantic side to pokemon could possibly be already, considering the young target audience.

What made me a pokeshipper?

i grew up with pokemon and always thought it was the cartoon that made my "young boy" years sweet. at the time, it was like power rangers or some of those exciting shows when i was young. What i really enjoyed about pokemon was misty was pwning ash and brock and she became my favourite cartoon character. and i positively cried when i watched GCYL, then i was disappointed by the AG series because TR and Brock's humor was horribly repetitive at the point and the new girl was supposed to bring something new to the gang. i dont hate may, but i was somewhat disappointed by her somewhat stereotypical personality of a weak damsel and lack of humor. then pokemon got boring with the repeated "funny scenes" of brock and nurse joy and TR blasting off, i then stopped and grew up.

then i was 15, and i was clearing out my room and i came across an old CD pokemon 2000... and i was old enough to understand the romantic subplot and by chance, I came across an outdated CD shop that rented some CDs of kanto and johto and the rest is well, history.

Well, I started watching it at the first episode. I was young and had just got a game boy with Pokemon Blue as my first game :3
I needed someone to ship Ash with so I chose the one he looked closest to and that was Misty. I look back now and go 'Wow I was a shipper at that young' lol,

How would Misty react upon receiving knowledge that Anabel and/or Angie have shown an interest in Ash?

I don't know either of those girls, so I can't really answer on how well she'd get along with them or anything. But I think she'd try to appear calm about the situation, maybe even helping things along and play the "good friend," but on the inside she'd be completely broken. Maybe spend her nights crying. At least, that's what I would do in her situation.

I'm respectively going to disagree with this. No doubt, Misty will show shades of jealousy, I just think her character has grown out of that "jealous girlfriend" phase. Misty is a more secure person than she once was. Being a Gym Leader has allowed her to grow up, sort of speak.

If you watch some of the Pokemon Chronicles episodes or when she made a cameo in the KBF, you'll see she's changed. Oh sure, she's still hotheaded and still stubborn but I think she could deal with another girl liking Ash in a better way.

I am so glad you said that. I'm working on that fic, you know, and I just recently got to the part where it deals with how Misty's changed. I'm glad someone thinks that she changed on the show, and it's not just in my head. Having not seen those episodes, I wouldn't know myself, so... I kind of have to depend on you guys.

Well, I saw the fist season of pokemon... parts of it... (i could never get up early enough, re-watched when it came out on tape) And I'm not sure when I got in to AAML... but it just seemed to fit.. And soon I became fixed on the pairing..

Anyway, moving on: I've been kinda fixed on 'the electric tale of pikachu for a while', and strangely.. it's mede me kinda aaml crazed, Just the idea of Ash and Misty (from the electic tale of pikachu) being togeter... I'm a weird girl...

I would imagine Ash and Misty growing older together...I mean how Misty looked like in the original trailer for Mewtwo Strikes Back was really beautiful, so who knows how Ash would look like alongside her. ^^

when i watched pokemon when it first came out i didnt care about all the hints and stuff and really i never caught alot but when i got back on pokemon i watched all the hints and saw the connection between them

True. But I think her new found courage was brought on because she was trying to protect Togetic and the rest of the Togepi. In The Real Cleffa Hanger Misty, Max, Pikachu Cleffa get separated from the rest of the group. They end up running into a swarm of Beedrill and Misty's flips out. As they're running away, Max says something like: "So, I guess you're not over your bug phobia!"

Ahh yeah, thats right....well, two Evil Trainers bug Pokemon are one thing, a swarm of Beedrills on the other hand.....well at least its not all of the Kamen Riders known in existence combining forces to do a Rider Kick together. ^^

I watched Pokemon ever since it started airing in the US and even though I had thought of some of the hints early on, such as Ash and Mistys quarrels and Misty hiding behind Ash and them holding hands with each other, but it wasn't until 'Here Comes the Squirtle Squad' when Ash thought that the Squirtle Squad threw Misty to her doom that I started getting convinced that Ash had feelings for Misty. ^_^
