Lucy had managed to unleash a Firestream at the Forretress, which the poor pokémon was too slow to react to. It had been singed, and the Sableye grinned in its typical sadistic way as it leaped up on a ledge to begin getting closer to the bug/steel pokémon. The Diglett acted in perfect harmony with the Sableye, creating a series of steps with their tough bodies, protruding from holes in the earth. As the darkness pokémon closed the gap between itself and the Forretress, its eyes began to glow with a dark energy, and Forretress is hit with Night Shade. The strange trainer's Forretress wasn't damaged by the attack, but it was just enough for Lucy's next attack to be a resounding success. As Forretress blinked and shook off the Night Shade, Lucy came within striking distance, leaping nimbly off the last Diglett, and unleashed all her momentum in to her dark purple claws that slammed in to the Forretress so hard it looked like a fighting pokémon's punch instead. The Forretress came to a stop several feet away, a scar in the ground leading up to where it finally came to a rest. A strange cry came from the hole the Forretress lay in, and it Protected itself just in time to prevent damage from an Earth Power that made Arcanum wheel around to try and identify the source... it came out of nowhere! The Diglett again showed impressive coordination by managing to use such a powerful attack, these Diglett surely had developed flawless communication and team-work skills over the life of the colony, and were willing to use them to the fullest to protect their precious home. The Forretress managed to Rapid Spin out of the tomb it found itself in, but it, like the Electivire, was showing its pain, even if it was less obvious than the roars coming from the Electivire.
Arcanum then had a brilliant idea. Adam also knew Earth Power, and what a perfect strike it would be if all the Diglett and Adam managed to coordinate their efforts, what a powerful Ground attack that would be! It could knock the Electivire out so quickly! But first, Arcanum turned to his Sableye to give it some quick orders to keep the Forretress occupied - the last thing Arcanum could afford is letting the two pokémon work together against him and his allies. "Lucy! I need you to keep the Forretress occupied while we finish off the Electivire down here! Scratch the Forretress as hard as you can, get some distance from it, and use Night Shade followed by Firestream again!" Arcanum then turned towards Adam and explained his plan. "Ok guys, I'm going to count to three, and on three I want both Adam and all the Diglett to use Earth Power. Until I get to three, Adam, use Focus Energy twice so it has as much force as possible. Adam, start charging! One...... Two...... THREE!!!"
Thanks for the speedy, yet excellent update Amras.MG!
