My favourite of all your banners, I love the cold tones of the background!, I love the galaxy texture you've used, but those "stars" on the face of the focal seem unnecessary and distracting. I love the text though, awesome as always.

On your latest wallpapers:

The text on the Lapras wallpaper is PERFECT. Could you link me the brush you used?.
But, all these wallpapers are a tad too bright and kind of leak of overuse of "Duplicate Layer, set on Overlay".

But I like them nevertheless, the lapras one is currently my desktop

Can I ask you something? How in the world do you get so much time to make these and also write your fanfictions! You must be one awesome time manager.

I believe the brush I used on the Lapras wallpaper is from this set. Yeah, I know it's a bit too bright. I was trying to camoflauge how much I was struggling to make it look like Lapras was actually in the sand instead of just transposed over it and I kinda got carried away.

XD Well actually, making graphics is pretty much my procrastination activity. It's a good escape from doing the things I'm more serious about like writing and schoolwork. That's why I've done so little these past few weeks--I've been too busy to procrastinate.

Well, it's been awhile since I last updated, but here's what I've managed to do between writing essays and studying for finals :P

Fandoms: Pokemon, Slayers, & Yugioh GX






^ For my fanfic "The Kingdom of Illusions." This is like... the fourth banner I've made for it and they never seem to turn out any good. There's also a header (which... isn't that much bigger) and a text free version.



^ This was for the require mental round of the graphics contest. I'm really not used to having borders that gigantic.

The border works brilliantly here, the white kinda "frames" the banner and complements the pinkness of the banner. The text is fab, but I wonder though, why do you always use the same font for sub-text?



If I were you, for the text, I'd have probably used clipping masks or would have colored the text with something like pink-purple-orange-ish colors XD.

The Avatars are rad, mind if I use one?

Thanks! Like I said I'm not really used to borders that large and I know I prefer the banner without it XD. Well, I often use pixel fonts for subtext because they have the advantage of being very small and yet still very clear which is often a marching order for subtext. It's very easy to fit them against any kind of font you use for the main text in an artful way.

Honestly, I have a zillion complaints of my own over that banner and they're not at all text related XP

My faves are the grungy xellos and ash+pikachu, both are really well done. Love the formatting and the two renders are blended really well, whereas in some of your images I feel they're missing a lot of quality- it terms of clearness of the render.
I know you do most of your graphics because you're a crazed fan, but I think that you should expand into other styles if you wanted to improve your technicality. Other than that, no complaints- it's all great! ^^

I'm just not quite sure what techniques you guys want to see. If I had a better idea of that I could probably make a better tutorial.

Wow, you have so many graphics! They're all fantastic, but the avatars that stand out to me (probably because I like what they're from so yes it's a bit bias :P) are: The first one of Miroku and Inyuasha, and all of the House MD ones (especially the two of James Wilson).

Edit: Ooo, I also like the Brad Pitt one on page 2, it reminds me of the movie Fight Club, wether or not that was intentional. Oh, and I love the Sesshômaru one on page 7. <3

Your work is amazing. I love one more than the other. XD Your such an inspiration, I think you've motivated me to continue practising designing graphic avatars and such because before I've had so low self-confidante in my work and myself. You think I can get amazing results by using GIMP?

You think I can get amazing results by using GIMP?

I've never used GIMP, so I can't really give you any particular advice for that program--but I've seen people making amazing things in GIMP.

Hmm... I'll see if I can cook something up. Haven't been too inspired lately.

Oh, and I don't really think I'd be apt to do a tutorial about extracting images--there's no real special trick to it. It's pretty much a matter of using the right tool, having an image of decent quality and size, and then just being very patient about cutting it out nicely--I do it small section by small section and check it against a solid color background to see how the edge looks. I'm actually not even the best person to do that kind of tutorial since I stubbornly cling to my polygonal lasso instead of the pen tool which the pros prefer.
