Another dumb thing about this episode: It was said that Pikachu doesn't like going into his pokeball, but Professor Oak called him out of a pokeball in the beginning.

I thought people would notice that.

I've only seen positive comments on this episode, so I decided to even it a little. Nothing wrong with that.

It looks like trolling, you need to dial it back.

An excellent first episode to introduce Ash & Misty into the anime. I got a laugh at Ash going to Prof. Oak's Lab in Pajamas for being late. It was very funny how Misty fished him out and sent him flying. Even though Ash destroyed her bike, it changed Misty's life forever.

Watched this yesterday. Was nice seeing the old episodes again, it's been years.

Ash and Gary start their journeys.

Gary is a troll and doesn't tell Ash what he got.

Ash gets his best friend, Pikachu...only they aren't best friends yet.

Misty's got a big bite...but it ends up being just a wild Ash holding an injured Pikachu.

Ash is a thief now. Misty is never going to see her bike again...well at less not in it's proper form.

Pikachu and Ash have their moment :3.

Oh look a Ho-oh...catch it Ash...CATCH IT!!!

It was funny and emotional. I enjoyed it.

I think that was the best Pokedex entry ever done in the anime. Sarcastic, funny, and Pikachu's silly laugh about it.

I love the first episode it was happy sad funny I remember when i was looking through the channels and on boomerang at 5 they have to episodes of Pokemon I seen that and started the whole thing over I love pokemon

It was nice watching this again. I like the part when Ash is all "you don't like me?" and Pikachu is like "no way". To be fair, Ash didn't really give a good impression, running there without putting his clothes on. -_-

Great episode, although Misty annoyed me. She's a great character, but in the early days of Kanto she was irritating, imo.

I like that Pikachu thought Ash meant literally when he said "open your mouth".
And the fact that he was attached by a flock of Spearow.

This is a good episode. It's funny and dramatic, a perfect introduction to the world of Pokemon. I don't like the scene where Ash dreams about the available Pokemon, but the rest is great.

I still think this is an overrated episode. It really was kind of boring until about the final 5 or so minutes, which were great. Still doesn't change the fact that the first 20 minutes were dull, so I give this episode a 5.
