Oh I loved this ep 8D Very good for Pikachu's character development. And I don't care who was mad that it didn't evolve, I'm personally very glad it didn't ^^

Favorite part of the episode was when Team Rocket did this horribly goofy cheer for Pikachu, then ran off. Misty goes, "bye, Team Rocket!" And they wonder how she recognized them.

To this very day, Ash and Brock are still surprised when Team Rocket rip off a disguise or two. *sigh~*

I loved this episode. Surge really freaked me out. But the Pikachu plot was pretty cool. It's good that it didn't evolve.

His accent was awesome. I loved it too. Only too bad Maddie passed away, she was the one who played Surge. And if they had him come back, I would bet someone else would play him.

I thought Surge was too arrogant and that's why he ended up losing.

I'm not a big Pikachu fan, but i'm happy it didn't eveolve because it got the chance to prove that it can be just as strong as Raichu without having to actually be one itself.

This episode is laughable and tolerable. LT Surge can call you a baby in the anime because he thinks you're not worthy of beating him, but he won't insult you in the RBY games! But he was easy on Misty just because she was a girl. lol.

Luckly that Pikachu won without being evolved to Raichu^^. Serve the gym leader right, that non evolved pokemons can be strong too XD.

Wow, that Raichu got some sneekie attacks for rock type pokemon! And poor pikachu lost the first fight! I don't like pikachu to evolve, im glad that stay put.

It was funny when Misty knew who they were straight away and they were actually shocked by that.

Bahahaha, Surge's size in this episode kills me. I laughed so hard when I re-watched this ep a while back. Anyways, I thought it was pretty cool that Ash figured out the whole Speed strategy for Pikachu & it surprisingly worked I was glad that Pikachu decided not to evolve, but come the second time around [in DP], I kinda wish it would have.

This was a truly classic episode. It was also the one that truly established Pikachu as the pokemon mascot for life. Him refusing to evolve proved that he is going to stay as he is through the rest of the series.
Lt. Surge looks like he could step on Ash and think nothing of it; can you say, steroids?
