I only ever teach the HMs to Pokemon that I don't really use in battle, but rather only use for the HMs. xD "HM Slaves".
For me it's usually Togetic, or Skarmory. I don't know why.

Starapter was my flyer in Sinnoh. Pidgey for Kanto and Johto, Wingull Hoenn, and Swoobat Unova.

It used to be my Crobat, but I changed my mind when I had discovered Honchkrow, so now Honchkrow is my flyer.

rayquaza, as i use him for all my hm's and he is lv100 so if i get in a tight situation i have a plan b.

My usual Flyer is Golbat be cause I don't have a flying type in my team...
I'll surely catch a Starly and make it evolves into a Staraptor.

I usually use a Staraptor when I'm just playing through the game. I think that I have a Tropius on both my Diamond and Pearl at the moment since it serves as my HM slave.

Well it was tropius but i changed to staraptor as i already have a grass type (torterra) on my team. I use pelipper occasionaly too.

In Platinum, I use my Arceus-Fire, while in Diamond and Pearl, I use Staraptor.

Just a random Staravia I nicknamed 'Wormfarts', whom also has the "honor" of using Defog for me as well.. I didn't want to waste either of the HMs on my shiny Staraptor.
