Almost at Azalea, Ash discovers that wild Cyndaquil live in the area...eager to get one, he and Pikachu rush out to find one. Can they get one before Team Rocket arrive to capture Pikachu?

This is a great episode, Cyndaquil is one of my favourite Pokemon. I'm so glad that Ash caught it and not that Sandslash trainer (he was nasty).
I think the title is genius aswell!

Actually, speaking of the Sandslash trainer, can anybody give me his name, and post up a picture of him? My TV was acting up at the time, so all I could hear was the sound. :P Because of that, I thought that this guy was the anime appearence of Silver. XD

Well, like all fire starters is one of my favorites... this episode was very cool and interesting because Ash was disputing with an other trainer wich had a , the animation it's very well done. I like it very mutch, eheh! - ''That Cyndaquil will be mine!''

Another Pokemon Ash accidently caught. Big whoop! I have to agree with Misty that kid did make Ash look relaxed. But good to see Ash get another new Pokemon.

Ah the good old days of Jhoto how i miss them. To be honost i think the cyndaquil would have been better off with the sandslash trainer at least there he may of recieved a decent moveset or evolved and maybe he wouldn't of been abbandoned after the Jhoto league.

I love Cyndaquil (and the other two Johto starters), so this is definitely an episode I like. It's funny how in the early days it was on the show Cyndaquil wasn't a very effective battler. At least Ash later trained it and made it a decent fighter (especially against Jasmine). The part where it tricked sandslash into trapping its claws in the tree trunk was very funny. I also liked the part where Team Rocket bend down as Ash runs past their machine, and the machine ended up doing a somersalt. LOL

i loved this episode! it was fun to watch, it reminded me of when ash caught charmander for some reason

The episode was easily ruined by that rival who was a typical jerk who got what he deserved in the end.

Exsqueeze me? That total jerk of a trainer is part of what made this episode so fun in the first place. I mean, the guy got so frazzled over losing to Ash that he tried to bag the cinder quilled critter with a magical butterfly net. And his expression after being flattened by that giant wad of gum was funny at it's finest.
I'll say this much; Koji totally owned Sylvester.

Excellent episode, nice to see Ash catch a Cyndaquil one of my favorite fire Pokemon. I liked that Ash actually went out searching for a Cyndaquil and catching one instead of meeting it along side the road or having it challenge him to a battle before he catches it, also great to see that he caught an extra special Cyndaquil since this one has excellent agility and defense.
