I didn't like how this episode focused on a non-Johto pokemon like Farfetch'd, but I was pleased by how the Ilex Forest was shown especially the shrine from the games. James wanting to eat Farfetch'd's leek was funny. ^^

So we saw the forest shrine that contained Celebi in Crystal, but no Celebi references were made. What a waste of potential.

To be fair this episode was made before Crystal and its Celebi event were revealed however, hence why it wasn't mentioned.

My favorite scene from this episode was seeing Team Rocket salivating over Farfetch'd as food.

Ilex Forest could've been skipped because even in the games there isn't a whole lot to do there. I didn't think Farfetch'd was entertaining. 5/10

I'm just wondering how purifying charcoal can also purify water. I hated that Sylvester kid though. I didn't even like this plot point in the games, and the anime wasn't much better. :/

Naoto's trouble with his Kamonegi and his dad's charcoal business was a great G/S/C game reference, and I chuckled when the Rocket-dan stole the food offering from the Forest of Ubame's shrine. Kamonegi fighting off the Rocket-dan as they chased him through the woods was wacky entertainment.
