This was a cute episode! Cool to see the egg hatch, and sad to see Phanpy run away... I give this episode 9/10, and Ash got a nice and cute addition to his team.
Fog Trainer
While this episode was quite boring in a way, I did like cute little Phanpy and - while not being the strongest member of Ash's party - it was certainly later on a beast of Pokémon and I think it was really well-thought of the writers to bring Phanpy back for another tour in the Battle Frontier.
No such thing
Phanpy is at one point scared of Pikachu. This is a reference to the urban legend that elephants are scared of mice (in this case, the elephant is Phanpy and the mouse is Pikachu).

Team Rocket annoyed me in this episode, but it was saddening when Phanpy was scared of Ash. But, Ash should have known that it was playing with him at first. He needs to stop losing his temper so fast.
