Nah, i never liked contest episodes...but this one was kinda good
I felt bad for May to loose her first contest, but I didnt really cry at that point anyway.
Though, I thought Robert was pretty mean, but not until he came back later in the series.
~I just wanna feel that rhythm~
Quite a good episode and the contest was interesting. The battles and appeals were enjoyable. Even if all Milotic did was shine and wave it's tail a bit. Hypnotism? Possibly.
Great episode ^^
Not surprising that May lost, and to Drew. It's her first contest, and the writers need to establish a rival for May.
The old man's lecture on berries was great. xD
And I've never really taken that much notice to it before, but it's amazing how high the characters can jump. Especially at the end where May jumps into the air. Meh. That's anime physics for you.

I was really sad when May lost to Drew.... it was really sad...
But i was happy when Robort nocked out Drew from the contest.

Very good Contest and a good lesson for May to learn.
I loved Roselia in this episode, it'll always be my favorite. I liked how Milotic debuted too.
Slateport's Contest was the best in Hoenn I think. 8/10
This episode is great. May's first contest, but she lost.
That guy's Milotic is beutifull. I didn't know it could use Iron Tail!
Now may has a new rival. And there is a bit of ContestShipping.

Wow, the contest in DP really make these ones look like crap, but it was a good episode nonetheless. I like Drew and his Roselia is pretty impressive, especially since it took down May's Beautifly who had the advantage over it. Overall, this was a pretty good episode.
The first contests of may and she got very far. I really didn't understand why she'd to cry, Drew is better than her. A character developement is very important in the show. Probably that's why.
However she was great in the appeal round. It's not easy and she did it well.
People really need to get off of May's back and off of their own high horse. If I lost my first competition being only a ten year old, I'd probably cry too. And let's not forget on how many times we've seen Dawn cry.
My ideal battle ever!
this episode was cool. May was really nervous for her 1st contest, she even fell over! The contest battle between Beautifly and Roselia was cool. I wish May wouldn't have lost to Drew though... The scene where the Old Man was lecturing TR on how to make Pokeblock was very funny.
Hmmm well I like this episode I'd give it an 8/10
Drew roflstomed May and then proceeded to get his *** handed to him by Robert. Nothing to see here really. The contest was alright at best. none of the appeals were really that good compared to their Sinnoh counterparts (or should I say not as flashy?)
Nevertheless, the Hoenn contest circuit never really impressed me.

Seeing Milotic in this episode was so beautiful! I'm a major Milotic fan, so it makes sense... 10/10 for that alone! I also think it was only realistic to have May not win her first contest, so that's a good thing.

This episode was like a crucial turning point for May. She learned a lot from both the contest experience, and losing to her main rival, Drew. It was nice to see finally something new and May dominating the spotlight with her Beautifly. A real good episode that certainly is the start of many contests to come.
I loved the irony of Jessie missing the Contest deadline; it was basically the opposite of what happened in the first Contest. Anyway, seeing May's nervousness when she did her appeal made me nervous, but she pulled through which was great. Too bad that Drew was her opponent. I thought Robert's Milotic was pretty fabulous though, so kudos to that.
