Hahaha, I guess we all had our own speculations that made no sense whatsoever...

I always thought that I could capture Lugia if I had all three birds in my Red... How disappointed I was.. But then Silver came out!

I guess that's why I hope that Jirachi doesn't appear in the Genesect movie for some odd reason...

The second line is meant to be sarcastic.. Though there was a random trainer with a Heatran at the Sinnoh League..

one thing i never got was "can jirachi actually grant wishes?"
cuz when max wished for candy, the candy vanished from the store then appeared with him. so thats not much more than teleportation.

This movie was... a mixed bag in my opinion. It had some fun moments, I liked the scenes with Jirachi in general, because it's such a cute Pokémon. Seeing Absol was cool too, especially since it's grown to be one of my favourite Pokémon lately, and I think the movie shows really well how Absol get their bad (and somewhat undeserved) repution for being a disaster Pokémon, like it's always mentioned in the PokéDex.
The ending however was really bad... like they didn't know what to do with it, so they just threw random **** together and hope for the best. I mean, we get a mega-sized Groudon out of nowhere, that isn't really like Groudon but looks like one, and it has a bunch of tentacles for no reason that rape everything in sight. Then we have dragons flying around, trying to escape the tentacles, and somehow Jirachi still plays a role in all of this.

Meh.......out of all AG movies, I found this movie the most boring movie. I didn't like The dub-added Misty referece, why did the dubbers added something like that in the dub when It wasn't even in the Original Japanese version?

The only scene I liked was when Jirachi 'got rid' of May, and she ended in the load off snacks.

I think this movie would've been much better if Ash or Brock befriended Jirachi.

Meh, I regretted watching the dub version as a kid. This subbed version is way more superior - as subs usually are. For one thing, the added song made the movie twice as heartwarming. This is another one of those typical Japanese movies that doesn't really need to explain things to the audience. Elements such as Groudon suddenly appearing or Jirachi granting wishes were kept ambiguous for dramatic reasons, and I love that. Americans feel the need to explain everything. This was even stated in the commentary of "Spell Of The Unknown", where the creators said that the Japanese creators wanted to keep things ambiguous, but they didn't feel the same way.

And then of course, somehow, I felt much more stronger towards Haruka and Masato's sibling relationship than I did in the dub. I want to say it's because of the shitty dub voices, but it's probably another reason. Ah well. The dialogues certainly reflected such a character development well. I don't know why people hated Masato so much in America. He's a perfectly innocent and naive character here in the sub.

I actually liked this movie. Nice Spielbergian plot too, reminiscent of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

For a movie centered around Max and relationship with a pseudo genie, that revolves around a crazy scientist who wanted to created an artificial Groudon for the sake of proving a group of people his worth almost bring the world into utter hell, it was pretty good all things considered.

Really glad they kept part of the Japanese track something that was very rare at that time especially for 4kids!

I still have this film on Dvd and I haven't seen it in years, but I do recall how Jirachi bonded with Max, and Butler's circus act was fun. The fake Groudon was gross and May's singing was super beautiful as well, plus I loved the view of the comet. :3

Lol I remember seeing the Ash and Flygon scene from here when I was young and thinking it was Ash's. Man, Jirachi was so annoying.

Butler was a sad excuse for a villain because his desire to get vengeance against Team Magma by making a Groudon was ridiculous but I did like Max and Jirachi's bond. 6/10

I like this movie very much. Jirachi had a cool voice. That mutant Groudon thing was pretty awesome even though it wasn't real. 10/10 for effort.

I rewatched this movie recently. Gotta say its a lot worse than I remember, mainly because of Diane. She's by far the worse major character in any of the movies for me. Her whole character was based around trying to get Butler to calm down about the whole Groudon thing, but all she did was ask him about it until he actually started torturing the Jirachi to make a groudon. I mean couldn't she have called the police or something? The worst part was when she literally thought she was going to die and said she was happy because he was the last person she saw. Genuinely. No sense of anger or frustration towards the guy who got her swallowed up by the big groudon thing by torturing a Jirachi. In the end she stayed with him after everything as well. There was no justice at all for the awful stuff Butler did and they presumably lived happily ever after.

This is one of the worst pokemon movies from a character perspective, possibly worse than 9. It didn't really have a thrilling battle or any really funny moments either.

Out of Advanced Generation's movies, I thought his one was the weakest when thinking about the plot. Absol's involvement wasn't necessary since Satoshi's group could handle things on their own, also I thought that Butler's plan with Jirachi making a fake Groudon was laughable. Masato's bond with Jirachi was special though and the movie's best plot idea.

I liked the movie, it took me a little while to warm for it but it was enjoyable! Jirachi was so sweet and I love how it befriended Max and gave him a central role in the story. I felt sad for Max when he had to say goodbye to Jirachi at the end.

I thought that that Butler guy was a bit fishy when he first appeared.

What was that beast though? It had crazy sucking tentacle things. Butler kept saying that it wasn't a Groudon, even though it looked like one. Something most have gone wrong leading to the creation of some crazy energy-sucking beast. I hope we get to meet the real Groudon, and I'm sure we will with the plot going on in the anime. (I am up to Pokemon Advanced)

That Butler had a real nasty streak but he finally saw the light after the destruction that beast was creating.

It's a shame that May didn't get her wish from that object but I liked the message that we create our own wishes And it was a nice reversal at the end when Jirachi wanted Max to make his wishes come true.

What was wrong with that tiny reference? It didn't even affect the Jirachi or Butler plot; it was just a harmless comment.
