Speed Tiers that don't suck

I was looking at the Serebii stickies / stickys (whatever) and came across this. http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?t=343233 It surprised me to see something so out of date and wrong. So here is practically every speed point in 4th gen OU. Unlike the speed tiers I've found at Smogon, this should actually be useful.


Sets rise and fall in popularity over time. Due to this I will not attempt to run calculations to how likely it is to see each set. Use your own judgement to see how much you care about each threat. I have put the most common sets of each OU pokemon into this list. Tell me if I missed anything big. For simplicity I have used mostly Smogon sets since they are the most popular. If you use different EVs, tell that to Smogon. Or me if you feel the spread is relevant.

I just realized Smogon has speed tiers too. But their speed tiers are really old (2007) or are full of useless numbers (Scarf Aerodactyl, Houndoom etc.) that you will never see in OU.

Naive Max Speed Salamence is also not there.

8 Speed Metagross, 12 Speed Skarmory, 4 Speed Vaporeon should also be there instead of just lumping them into one seldom used group, just like Machamp and Blissey got their own mentions on the list.

I'll put updates to the Vaporeon / Metagross / Skarmory. Like I said I used Smogon sets, because thats what everyone does..

Btw, Naive DDMence is the standard nature now, it outspeeds way more and packs more power behind Fire Blast / Flamethrower.

It is the standard Rock Polish set, so with 252 speed ev's and a Jolly nature.

KFT, thanks for doing the UU speed tier!! I don't know how common it is, but I use Scarf Blaziken. I haven't decided on the exact speed yet, but it's around 375-385. Not a +Speed nature.

Yes, I made a few typos, so my mistake. That is one. I also put scard Dialga instead of scarf. If you catch any more, just notify me. (Or BH)

Although its a bit strange, Choice scarf modest Skymin reaches 529.
Skymin with modest nature can reach 353 max
so 353x1.5=529,5.....529 rounded down.

edit:I thought it was scarf lol.
with a modest nature and choice specs Skymin has only 353 speed but a but a monstrous 558 Special attack
