Looks like Zetman is another adaption that raped its source material. It can go join Fullmetal Alchemist and Blue Exorcist in my repressed memories.

I got bored of Ao, so right now I'm only watching HxH. I'm actually really liking this adaption. The fact that it's adapting a manga with 30 volumes helps.

Admittedly I didn't watch Gosick when it first came out. All I've seen is the opening and this video which is almost enough for me to go check it out. Maybe someday... are the mysteries really good?
im only on episode 4, but its some sherlock holmes type of sh*t. the only complaint i have is the art is a bit too kiddy.

Thanks to Raden Surya for the animation
its been a few years is he still around?

There's good humor, dramatic hints of what's to come, and it only takes one scene to set up how close Nagisa is to her family. In Hyouka's first two episodes it seems that it has shown less focus on all the characters (with the smaller cast and all) but tries to draw in the audience with the mysteries it has/is going to have later. Oreki and Chitanda both have a firm hold on my interest, but the other two haven't made that sort of impression. Oreki's laziness is akin to Tomoya's dislike of his father, at the two episode mark we don't know what the real cause of it is yet. The ending of episode 2 in both cases have cliffhangers revolving the "main girl" of the series.
I gotta say, the first two episodes of Clannad had some really hilarious moment such as Tomoya telling the whole class that Kyou is a bi, lol, I actually laughed out loud on that scene. Not to mention how much better of a friendship Sunohara and Tomoya have in comparison to Oreki and Satoshi.

EDIT: Just watched episode 8 of Clannad.

    Oh God, such a tearjerking episode. Poor Fuko ;_;

Episode 8 is always a tearjerker. Great to hear you're having a good time with Clannad, it's part of the reason why I love that studio so much.

    Chihayafuru - COMPLETE
    Eureka Seven: AO - 3
    Fate/Zero - 17
    Hunter X Hunter - 29
    Hyouka - 2
Kids On The Slope - 3
Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? Of The Dead - 4
Lupin III - The Woman Called Fujiko Mine - 4
    Space Brothers - 5
    Zetman - 4 DROPPED

Seeing as everyone else is dropping Zetman after episode 5 I'm not even going to bother.

Finished Chihayafuru. That's one of the best anime I've seen in a while. I grew really attached to the characters, even some of the minor ones. The writing was really well done. It's incredible how they can make something that seems for boring and make it so intense. And every single match was unique, which was mega-impressive. Not to mention this show has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard.

Okay that was probably the most non-conclusive ending ever (like Kaiji) and I'm begging for more.

Don't forget to use spoiler tags, there are still some people here who haven't finished it yet.

But yes, it's your time to shed man tears.

Same one I was talking about above, Chihayafuru. The quote was from a previous conversation in this thread about the ending, but that was before I saw it.

You should really check it out, it's sorta reminiscent of Kaiji but not dark at all.

But that's part of what made Kaiji a blast (and #2 on my top 10 list). I'll give it a look tonight.

    Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos - 3

What a wonderful panty shot. Then there was the quote from Fullmetal Alchemist. Also love the continuing Pokemon reference.

    Chihayafuru - 1

I am loving the realism in the series (bar the hair colours). It's really different, feels incredibly realistic. Whether I'll continue it or not is another question, I don't find it grabbed enough of my attention.

Glad you're giving the show a shot. And yes, it's incredibly realistic the entire way through, even though it isn't the most attention grabbing of shows.

I don't think I was that fast. I got to episode 11 in one day but then I took the rest slow at about an average of 3 a day or so.

Pretty much. I don't think Madhouse will just leave it like that, even if the sales were poor.

Madhouse did give Kaiji season2 despite poor sales, so the precedent is there, we just have to have faith that they will give Chihayafuru the same treatment.

Urge to click spoiler! I'll check out episode 2 of Chihayafuru but if it doesn't grab me by then, that's it. Surprised it's animated my Madhouse.

It's a guy who looks like a girl, I could tell from the ending.

Actually, I liked episode 2. It's after that when I started hating it. Oh, and I think I will always love its inappropriately funky OP, regardless of the badness of the show attached.

I don't know if I can agree or not as I haven't read the manga (I dislike the show entirely on its own merits) but if it's halfway decent then I guess 'rape' could legitimately be called. The main reason I reply is that I vehemently object to your choice of example.

    This post is mildly depressing.

Naturally. Season 2 WILL happen. Otherwise, I am going to drink copious amounts of gin on a flight to Japan and then start murdering the moment I get off the plane. Or perhaps I'll just sulk. WHO CAN SAY FOR SURE?
