Kiritsugu's backstory in Fate/Zero was much more interesting than I expected. His time on the island in particular was compelling.
Great episode of From the New World this week! I find the silver-tongued Yakomaru more and more fun to watch the longer the series goes on. It looks like the society's rigid adherence to established rules is making the threat difficult to deal with.
Chihayafuru 2 was ridiculously good this week. Taichi is the perfect example of a super-popular guy at the top of his class who's really easy to root for.

I just finished watching the Clannad series. There was one character in particular that I was interested in called Kotomi Ichinose, so I roamed around and found a visual novel online depicting the events that would occur if she were the main focus of the anime alongside the lead male protagonist, Tomoya Okazaki (it was a playthrough on YouTube), instead of Nagisa Furukawa (the focus of the anime). Both the anime and the visual novel are great, and if you ask me, both deserve my stamp of approval.
If you watch either one, you will shed tears of both laughter and sadness (side effects may also include mood whiplash).
