Red Hot Chili Peppers (Stadium Arcadium)
    The Hold Steady (Stay Positive)
Lucero (Rougues, Rebels & Sworn Brothers)
    Smashing Pumpkins (Siamese Dream)
Cage the Elephant (Cage the Elephant)
The Black Keys (The Big Come Up)
Zach Williams and the Reformation (Electric Revival)
    The Deadstring Brothers (Sao Paulo)

Red Hot Chili Peppers, especially the album 'Stadium Arcadium', every song there is pure gold.
Also, John Frusciante (ex-guitarist of RHCP) makes very trippy music which always makes me think about existence and stuff... Like this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9jsRZzjrgI or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llNVlM1LTLo
And then a whiff of Linking Park, Flipsyde, The Bravery and last but defi-****ily (wut?) not least Hans Zimmer. And Ratatat, yes.... Ratatat
Also, I like Lady Gaga and Meshuggah, but if now that I've said that, people will probably not take me seriously ...

I find I don't tend to like most of Frusciante's solo work but a select few songs of his are amazing, namely; Song to Sing When I'm Lonely, Unreachable and Past Recedes.

Rush. All time favorite. All three members are phenomenal at their instruments. Although Geddy Lee and Neil Peart are recognizable names, Alex Lifeson (the guitarist) never gets credit.

Megadeth. After watching the Big 4 DVD, I decided to listen to more of their music. Youthanasia and Rust in Peace were my fave albums. Also, how Dave Mustaine is able to pull off those impossible-sounding guitar licks while singing, I don't know.

Anthrax. Another band I got into after watching the Big 4. I certainly like how the vocals are not too heavy and don't really distract from the melodies, unlike most metal bands.

Soundgarden. Heck yes. Spotted Superunknown at Best Buy, gotten pretty much all of their CDs ever since. Probably my favorite of the four major grunge bands. It's awesome that they've gotten back together.

Pink Floyd. Certainly one of those bands I listen to during the night hours. The slow-paced music and phenomenal harmonies make them my "unwinding" band. Plus, David Gilmour is awesome at guitar.

Def Leppard. Hard rock was always one of my favorite genres, especially those '80s bands like Poison, Ratt, Dokken, Tesla, etc. But there's something that makes them stand out. Is it the fact that they kept going even after their drummer lost one arm in a car accident? Most likely.

David Bowie. Enough said. But seriously, this guy is a lyrical genius. Plus, his singing is actually quite tolerable.

Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl made an awesome transition from drummer to lead vocalist. Not to mention the fact that he re-recorded the drum tracks on all the songs on The Colour and The Shape. And that he recorded his demo reel ALL BY HIMSELF.

The Ramones. Probably my favorite punk band ever. I actually like the fact that most of their songs are less than 3 minutes long. More tracks to put on CDs.

Deep Purple. Seriously, Ritchie Blackmore needs more recognition. His guitar work is absolutely amazing. Also, this band can put together great melodies and vocals (sometimes doing so to show off their talent) without the song becoming a total mess.

I might be in love with you. nh.

No but seriously I am absolutely obsessed with John Frusciante and not only he is my favourite musician ever, I also think he's the best guitarist that has ever walked the earth.

I adore all of his albums, from the weird and mostly noise Niandra Lades And Usually Just A T-Shirt to the ethereal and epic The Empyrean.

It's a shame he doesn't write more songs like. With the exception of The Empyrean, I really can't get into his work. It's still good to know he can write songs as powerful as that though.
