This is some good grass dude!
I listen to psychedelic and space rock and rap mainly. A couple of my favorites in no particular order: Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Hospin, Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Who, Lynrd Skynrd, Roccett, Yes, ELO, Slightly Stoopid, The byrds, Aerosmith, The Kinks, The allman brothers, Johnny Cash, Balsam Range, TI, Gucci Mane, Ice Cube.
Escape the Fate is from my hometown, Las Vegas, NV. I've seen them live a couple times (well, before Ronnie left)
Personally, I listen to A LOT of electronic dance music (EDM). I also listen to hip hop. Some notable artists are: (dance) Gammer, Skrillex, deadmau5, Nero, Swedish House Mafia (rap) T.I., Nas, Drake, Wiz Khalifa.
I mostly listen to a small bit of rap and a bit of R&B. I have really gotten into Rock as of late though. I dont know if these are old bands, but: Dust for Life, Gravity Pool, Drowning Pool, Haji's Kitchen, and Disturbed just to name a few.

I like Crystal Castles, Victorian Halls, and Anthrax.
Any techno or hip hop is my favourite and my playlist is full of them.
I love t shirt printing and tshirt printing fashion.
Favorite song right now: Too Close - Alex Clare
I'd like to call myself a metal head, even though I know a lot of people that listens to stuff that is way more hardcore than what I prefer. However, I think I've spread to a lot of different genres:
Heavy Metal; Black Sabbath, Dio, Rainbow
Thrash Metal; Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth mainly. I've heard a few songs by Testament that I really like.
NWOBHM; Judas Priest, Iron Maiden.
Nu Metal; Slipknot, System of a Down, Disturbed (not so much anymore, though)
Progressive Metal; Dream Theater (some of it), Liquid Tension Experiment, Gojira (some of it)
Symphonic Power Metal; Nightwish, Rhapsody of Fire
Stoner Metal; The Sword, Kyuss
Avant-Garde Metal; UneXpecT, Diablo Swing Orchestra
Heavy Rock; Scorpions, Queens of the Stone Age, Alice In Chains
Progressive Rock; Muse, Queen, Rush (some of it)
Alternative Rock; Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers
Metallica, System of a Down, Nightwish and UneXpect have a special place in my heart, though.
Categorizing DSO as avant-garde feels really weird. It's basically just normal pieces assembled in an abnormal way. Then again, I don't know what the hell avant-garde really is, I guess.
Also, I dare say Muse leans a lot more toward alternative rock than prog, but that's just me.
I've been listening to a lot of new wave/post punk like Elvis Costello, Siouxsie and the Banshees, etc. lately. I mean, I always do that, but it's kind of at the front of the list right now.

Normally, I wouldn't use this as an argument, but on most sites (Last.fm, Metal Archives and even Wikipedia) Diablo Swing Orchestra is listed as Avant-garde. And in a way, I think it fits them well.
Take their newest album for instance, Pandora's Pińata. First track is heavily swing inspired and extremely catchy. The next is.. I don't know what to call it.. mexican? Then the third is more like metal (with cellos and trumpets), but with a very catchy calm and almost folk-like chorus as well. Later on, we find a full-scale opera track and a track that's more rock-orientated with a heavy funky bass. Not two songs sound alike.
Avant-garde is characterized by being very experimental and unorthodox. I say that fits Diablo Swing Orchestra very well.
As for Muse, I agree with you. However, I still think they have some vibes that are a bit prog-like. They also have very different songs with a lot of different styles.
I won't talk about The 2nd Law, though. Yuck.
I've got a variety of tastes ranging from "bad" to "okay." I listen to soundtracks and classical, some Japanese stuff, some Spanish. A little bit of rap from a select few artists and stuff. Nothing special really.

My newest find is Eyeshine. Their song "Stratosphere" always cheers me up, even when I'm not upset.
It's not likely anyone will do it, but please do listen to it and tell me what you think of it
I'll even listen to one of your song suggestions in return(This way, I can also find new songs to like, so you'd be doing me a favor!)
My taste in music has changed rapidly over the last few years. I've gone from extremely heavy metal to rap to techno to plain old rock/alternative. As of right now, my favorite artists are:
Breathe Carolina(They recently covered Michael Jackson's Billie Jean...loved it.)
The Fray(Their newest album, Scars and Stories, is the best one yet. They've changed their sound a bit, but the emotion and feeling is still there, it's amazing.)
Lights(She's my guilty pleasure, her music is simply captivating. A bit poppy to be sure, but still, I love it.)
Deadmau5(Random Album Title is his best album so far, his newest one just didn't cut it for me. There Might Be Coffee is his best track so far though, if I do say so myself)
Red Hot Chilli Peppers(Not much to say, their music is just awesome)
We Came as Romans(They're a bit heavy, but their music has a really uplifting message to it.
La Dispute(Oh. My. God. This band leaves me speechless. All the thought they put into their music is just fantastic.)
Into It. Over It.(This guy reminds me a lot of La Dispute. His music is just so emotional and thoughtful and meaningful and ahh, I just love this guy xD)
Imagine Dragons(I got into this band pretty recently, and have loved them since)
Other artists I listen to include Mayday Parade, Weezer, Incubus, Dean Martin(!), All Time Low, Knife Party, Wolfgang Gartner, you get the idea.
This is just scratching the surface of my musical tastes, but that's the general idea. I'm quite open to new music though, and love to discover new, amazing artists.![]()
