I'd say I have expanded my musical tastes a whole lot in the last four years, so I'm going to make a real list now.

    Chicago (60s and 70s)
    The Beatles
    Streetlight Manifesto
    The Doors
    Blood, Sweat & Tears
    Fleet Foxes
    Gryphon
    Bread
Brainchild (1970 Brass Rock band, not any of the others)
    Eagles
    The Divine Comedy
    Boston
    America
    Afroskull
    Egg
    John Denver
    Jim Croce
    Pink Floyd
    The Left Banke

To give a more general idea of what I listen to, bands/artists that I love one or two songs by:

Lighthouse (have a feeling I would love this band more if I could explore their earlier albums, but they're very hard to find)
Emergency (early 70s Brass Rock group)
Dreams (also an early 70s Jazz/Brass Rock group)
    Santana
    Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution
    Electric Light Orchestra
    Kansas
    Blue Oyster Cult
    Tears For Fears
    Led Zeppelin
    Crosby, Stills & Nash
    The Ides of March
    The Four Tops
    The Spinners
    Pentangle
    Simon & Garfunkel
    The Amazing Blondel
    Steely Dan
    Fuel
    Staind
    3 Doors Down

I could make any entirely different list with Classical/Early Music, but I figured I'd just go with the "popular" music category here.

Lately two genres I've really been getting more into are Brass Rock and Folk, especially more traditional, early music based-folk (since I do love early music).

Don't have a big list and I probably have a weird taste, but...

You're Gonna Go Far Kid - The Offspring
    Bullseye - KDrew
    Bonfire - Knife Party

^ I've listened to those songs frequently for nearly a year, and still haven't gotten tired of them. Also I'm a girl, and usually girls don't like dubstep or rock but I guess I do :3

I'm really open to what I like with music. I don't usually conform to a set genre or anything; If I like it I listen! Lately as of right now I've been listening to more poppy, acoustic sounding tunes with some rap thrown around in there. But if I had to say my favorite genres it would be Indie Folk and Rap & Hip Hop. Kind of a weird combination I know, but what can I say, I enjoy it!

    Top 4 Favorite Albums:
    1. For Emma, Forever Ago - Bon Iver
    2. Bon Iver, Bon Iver - Bon Iver
    3. Hospice - The Antlers
    4. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - Kanye West

Honestly, as of right now I can't figure out what I would put as my fifth favorite album. There's too many choices out there! So yeah, my favorite Indie bands are Bon Iver and The Antlers and my favorite rapper is Yeezy

Hmm, this is a tricky one, but I guess I'll try to narrow down my favourite artists, as songs will be far more difficult

    In no particular order:
    Machinae Supremacy
    Rise Against
    Rush
Ben Prunty (the composer for FTL)
    Laura Shigihara
    C418
    Marty O'donnell
    Pendulum
    Sum 41
    Vernian Process

There are many more, but that's all I'm gonna list, otherwise I'd be here forever

One band I really like is Cake (who I was introduced to by my older brother). A lot of their music has similarities to classic 1960s/70s rock. Some of my favorite songs are:

Friend is a Four-Letter Word - Very similar to many 70s blues rock/hard rock bands, has a similar chord progression to, if not the same one as, Ready for Love by Bad Company
I Will Survive - a cover of a 70s song, but one that was disco, Cake's version sounds like a version a 1970s rock band would have recorded
It's Coming Down - this song reminds me a lot of The Beatles, especially the song "Rain"
Love You Madly - the opening notes are similar to another classic rock song, "Good Times Bad Times" by Led Zeppelin
Italian Leather Sofa - reminds me of Steely Dan (especially the sax solo), was the theme to the short-lived TV show Mission Hill

    I also really love Cake.
My favorite songs are The Distance (I even made an AAML AMV Along with it)
    It's coming down
Friend Is a four letter word
    Daria
    Frank Sinatra
    Never There.
My taste is typically rock, although I'm not a fan of deep screemo, and dubstep. I also like Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey, but that's about how far I'll go in terms of pop.
