How goot is Spirit Tracks? I'm tempted to buy it, but the final boss looks way too easy imo, and it seems like you're limited to the rails in the overworld.

I think you'd agree that how gameplay "looks" isn't a great metric on which to judge. The final boss - in all of its phases - is sufficiently difficult.
You are, but "limited" is the wrong word; you aren't really more "limited" than you are sailing around in Wind Waker or Phantom Hourglass.
Consider: if you're sailing around the Great Sea or its Hourglass offshoot, you can sail "wherever" you like, but whether you go north, south, east, west or any combined direction, you'll eventually run into an island (or the end of the map) somewhere; whether you jump ship and explore the island is up to you. If you really wanted, you could just sail from one end of the ocean to the other without getting out of the boat.
The overworld train tracks are similar - while you are limited to moving wherever there are train tracks, the train tracks cover the entire overworld, and you add more tracks as you complete more of the game and more of the sidequests. If you're simply roaming about Hyrule and you pass a station or a town, it's up to you whether you hop off the train and explore. If you're not sidequesting, you can chug from one corner of the map to the other.
And honestly, they couldn't have done it any other way. Giving you license to free-control a vehicle that's purpose as large and unwieldy as a three-car train with DS controls would have been clunky, at best. This system, where you trace your desired path of any length along the track map with the stylus and then simply worry about avoiding/overcoming obstacles to get there, works just fine, and you are given free reign to change your course in transit as you so desire.
If you need a filler Zelda to feed your appetite, Spirit Tracks will do just fine.

Should I get the Retron 3 system?

Steak have a pillory!
I have claimed Frog's Theme from the Chrono Trigger OST. Beware my introductory fanfare!
I'm considering getting a 3DS since I just moved to another town and life in university is not very high paced right now. I considered the vita but I got the psp and seriously regretted the purchase. Therefore I opted for a ds, specifically the 3DS for the joystick it has. I already have platinum which I used to play on my sister's ds and I am also getting some other pokemon games. Other than that though I don't know what games to get. I prefer classic nintendo games like the new starfox 64 and the new ocarina of time. Mario kart, super mario, kirby and yoshi land games are games I really liked too.
My question is what titles are the must buy that fall somewhere near these guidelines for the 3DS?
ps they don't necessarily need to be from those specific franchises.
Thanks!

I think that Twinbee has held up a lot better, though Xevious is also a classic. I'd recommend Twinbee unless you have something against colorful cute-'em-ups.
Does anyone recommend Kirby return to dream land? It looks awesome but it looks really easy and not worth it.

I have a DS Lite but the "Y Button" is not working.
I wanna know if any of you have played these game before and ask If they needed the Y Button cause if not I'll be buying them at stores. Also do they have some options to change the game controls?
So here are the games:
Mario and Luigi : Bowser's Inside Story
Phantasy Star Zero
Mario Kart
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
And maybe some Mario or Zelda games you can recommend.
I am also looking for a good DS game with Online feature so that I can play with other people. Without the Y button also.
Thanks.
^ I haven't played those games except Mario Kart DS. Get that one. The Y button can be used, but isn't needed. What it does is change the bottom screen from the Bird's Eye View Map to the Whole Track Map and vice versa. You can also tap the touch screen to do this anyway. I don't use the Y Button mainly because it slows me down and I don't find it necessary to see both maps.
I have Bowser's Inside Story, and you cannot beat the game without the Y button - it is required for Bowser to spit fire in the field, use a special move, and defend against attack.
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are pretty good, and can be entirely controlled by using the Touch Screen, so you could look at one of those.

100% of information in signatures on this forum involving percentages is false. If you feel as cheated by this atrocity as I do, don't you dare copy this into your signature.
Hold on... if this percentage was correct at the time of print, that means the actual percentage of false information is less than 100% if this signature is included. Which means that... no! I've become a slave to the system!!
