Haha I find it funny and cute swell but I did not know that Satoshi means earth and hikari is light. I find it cool! Before I knew the light and earth thing I use to tough they have twins, girl and boy. One will be allyson (ally for short) and other is Kevin. With that the boy will do contest and girl dose battles

A more apt name will be Yukinari.

1) Reason one is they could use the nickname "Yuki" which basically suits your post.

2) Reason two is it is an honor to Professor Oak, whose Japanese name is "Ookido Yukinari". Professor has a high place in Ash's heart as he was the one who gave him Pikachu and defined his path. Hikari loves Oak's poems and is a big fan of his. They both like Oak, so it's not wrong to name their kid in his honor.

3) I have googled the name Yukinari and learned it's meaning

"Your name of Yukinari has created the desire to focus on the details of your immediate interests to the extent that others consider you to be fussy."

It fits both Ash and Dawn's character. Both of them are obsessed by their goals and are slightly oblivious to romance because of this. (Until they find each other in a hypothetical Pearlship situation :3) Their kid would obviously share this trait, right? (Unless Brock babysits and spoils him).

All signs are pointing to that Hikari will come back (hopefully as a main character). Japanese Pearlshippers certainly have high hopes for her return. Since Decolora won't have Dawn appear anytime soon, she might make an appearance in Kanto and Kalos. After all, she hasn't visited Kanto yet and Blackthorn is relatively close to Kanto.

Does anyone else think her cameo on BW was well-received? Or do people no longer care about her as much as they used to? The fact that they added all those subtle Pearlshipping hints all over BW shows something.

I really think it's a mixture of almost everything. Piplup has always been popular, though it's unknown whether the Piplup goods actually sold during BW2. The directors/writers made a lot of subtle comparisons between Dawn's Piplup and Ash's Oshawott (unless if you were to blame them for copying the same animations, but I think those comparisons are intentional), to the point that they were canonically shown to be rivals by the time Dawn arrived. I'm not sure whether contests play a role in this, but it's shown that she can still be in the show without contests to an extent. I may say something like BW ratings at this point, but there are popular anime series with lower ratings than Pokemon. For its faults, they made made it up with focusing on subtle Pearlshipping references and implications (especially when Iris and Cilan knew about Dawn, and then Ash had to tell them about Brock when Dawn mentioned him to them). Honestly, I'd be surprised if contests made a return. The beginning of Dawn's appearance, it was shown that her appearance was unexpected. At the end of the cameo, it's shown that Ash and Dawn never really said goodbye to each other, they just said something like, "See you later!". I pay some level of attention to how Japanese Pearlshippers react on http://mint.45.kg/satohika/ and their messageboard http://yy56.60.kg/satohikakiko/. Their expectations/predictions are more optimistic for the most part. And they just started to update the website on the BW2 episodes in which Hikari made an appearance, and they have stated that any changes to the site are still pending. Dawn was intended to be a female version of Kanto Ash since the very beginning of her introduction. I know it's a whole load of complicated stuff to consider, but the puzzle pieces fit nicely together. And if Pokemon were a romance, it'd be horrible and take away the entire purpose of the show. I'm a Pearlshipper just because I'd like to see them travel together and I liked their interactions with each other. And anyone who likes Pearlshipping is welcome here.

The first season of BW had an opening song that had clear Hikari references- that she was a voice from the future saying that everything is going to be allright.

I don't think that the Masamitsu Hidaka interview holds any weight anymore especially since he no longer works on the storyboards or the show itself. They've already have a new director/chief writer team from DP and it looks like it's going to stay. The storyboard editors have already changed staff in BW. BW was intended to be a nostalgia-like reboot series with two gym leaders with a rookie trainer, so it's understandable. To an extent, I think they've already learned that pandering to Kanto-nostalgic fans would be a mistake.

It would be wonderful if she did. But she had a recent cameo (I still find calling 9 episodes a cameo funny ), so I guess not.

That would be awesome if that happened but Misty already pulled that card. When Ash came home after Hoenn Misty was there waiting and May came a day later or so. If Dawn does return I see her meeting him in Vermillion City where the boat docks and where her Ampibom is.

I fail at making segue ways Meeting up in or around Pallet seems like a pretty popular scenario for Ash-shippers. Whether it happens or not, it's certainly fun to think about those kinds of situations for reunions, especially since the context is "home" and therefore better, I think, for topics like romance than "traveling on the road" can be in some ways. I suppose someone could argue that, but I dunno. Romance is kind of a putting down roots/commitment thing, so I guess that's my logic XD

Anyway, I really came here to post some PearlShipping graphics. Y'gotta know I like making shipping graphics even when I don't ship the couple. Since I've been compiling DP screenshots lately (BW as well), PearlShipping graphics were an obvious make. I figured this would be the best place to share them to give PearlShippers access to them, so here I am.

I see a possible 2 plot points to bring her back as a main character Poke Stylist (the reason she didnt go to kanto with Ash) and if they bring back Contest. Karos is based off of the beauty of France and that could mean Fashion or Contest ya know. They cold bring her back as a cameo under many guises to welcome Ash back home or to retrieve her Ampibom from Vermillion City.
