Wi-fi Battle Question

Hi, my sister just bought the Platinum version, & I'm wondering why, we can't do wi-fi battles, with my Diamond.

Hmmm...that's a little difficult to answer. I have a couple ideas and I hope they help.

1. She isn't far enough into the game. (Whether she has to beat a certain gym leader or reach a certain point, I'm not sure.

2. You're too far into yours. What I mean by this is that you've gotten the National Dex and she hasn't. (I'm pretty sure this is the case. If your sister has beaten the Pokemon League and you still can't battle, I'm positive that's it. You can still trade though. As long you trade her a pokemon that appears in her Sinnoh Dex.)

No, you can trade any pokemon over to her as soon as the wireless functions are available.
I traded over Trapinch, Vulpix, Sneasel, and Misdrevus, when I started my Platinum. Trapinch's number was just "???"

And I restarted my Pearl version and Traded over Blastoise, Tyranitar, Mew, and a butt-load more and I still haven't recieved the nationaldex

Trading pokemon over that aren't in the sinnohdex is A-okay.
