You can get Porygon in the Celadon Game Corner for 9999 Points. RETRO
Once I'm done with the gyms, I'm going to properly scout around

Unlike the previous games, the Celadon City gym features a pseudomaze set up by various passages with flowers growing on them. You have to navigate your way around to the gym leader.

It has been noted the Togepi from the egg Mr Pokemon gives you has he egg move Extrasensory.
All trainers bar Bugsy/Falkner have the same teams up to Bugsy as they were in GSC - some are standing in different places, however.
There is always a Pokemon to see in the player prespective shots of places you enter (e.g. Spout Tower, Union Cave, etc - and the location of said Pokemon can change as well. 9E.g. for Dark Cave, you may see a Dunsparce in the middle, or to the far left).
Union Cave is slightly different when first entering - layout is different but it more or less follows a similar pattern to GSC. The odd extra item here and there that wasn't there before, on top of all of the old items in the same places as in GSC (e.g. you can now find a Shell Bell in Union Cave).
All people who gave you their phone numbers in GSC do so in HG/SS up to Bugsy thus far.
Headbutt tree Pokemon include Noctowl, Hoothoot, Pineco, Butterfree in HG (Ryuusei-contributed info =p).

Well that clears up that
Steven just told me about Latios roaming Kanto so that's how they do it
Now my source said both are roaming so I don't know how to get Latias or if he was mistaken

Janine's Gym runs much like her father's did in that you have to deal with invisible walls. She also has people disguised as her so you never know whom you'll be fighting with.
