Official HG/SS Recent Happenings Thread - [READ THE FIRST POST]

I decided to get back into SoulSiver to complete a few things I left unfinished from when I last played (which has been too long). Short update: I went to the National Park and decide to take part in the Pokeathon. In my first attempt at this, I easily got the First Place Medals for the Power, Skill and Stamina courses. My scores for those, in order, are 388, 355 and 470. I haven't had time to do the Jump and Speed courses, but I'm hoping to get the First Place Medals for them as well later.

HeartGold: Still training for the Elite 4. I did try to battle them, beat Will, Bruno and then Koga defeated me with his last Pokémon.

Am going to get up to level 50 with the whole squad and then try again. Ponyta learnt Bounce so that was fun on Bruno's Machamp.

I beat Pryce very easily with just Elebit, my magneton and Samantha my feraligatr. Now I'm in Goldenrod city after beating the rocket grunts and my Rival, also fairly easy.

Once Blue had been defeated, I left the Viridian City Gym, and I headed to the local Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon. I also swapped Pokemon at the PC there, then I bought some items at the Poke Mart. Since I now had all 16 badges, I decided to head south to Pallet Town to chat with Professor Oak. I traveled through Route 1, then I arrived in Pallet Town. I asked Daisy to massage one of my Pokemon, then I entered Professor Oak's lab. He was happy that I had gotten all 16 badges, and he gave me the Rock Climb HM as a reward for my hardwork. I taught Rock Climb to my newly-evolved Golem, and then I flew to Cinnabar Island to test it out. I climbed the ledges around the volcano there, and I collected some items. I then flew back to Viridian City, and I saved before going west.

I managed to beat all the admins up to Arienna or how ever you spell it and my battery died >.< At least I saved right before that XD

Day 135 Friday , August 2, 2011 9:40,1,2 PM
I decided to enter my first of two Pokeathlons for the Day ! It was a Jump Pokeathlon with Meganium , Sudowoodo , and Ariados ! We were escorted to the Stage ! After a little while, the Pokeathlon started! After the three Events were over, we had 321 Points , which got us First Place , three Points ahead of Third Place ! We were awarded three Jump Medals , one for each of my three Pokemon that participated in this Jump Pokeathlon ! I gave each of these three Pokemon one Jump Medal from this Jump Pokeathlon ! After a little while longer, I left the Stage ! The Clerks than gave us 321 Athlete Points , as that's how many Points we got in this last Jump Pokeathlon ! They also gave us 100 Bonus Athlete Points for winning this last Jump Pokeathlon ! I thanked them! I then decided to enter my second of two, and my last Pokeathlon for the Day ! It was a Speed Pokeathlon with Ampharos , Kingler , and Murkrow ! We were escorted to the Stadium ! After a little while, the Pokeathlon started! After the three Events were over, we had 298 Points , which got us Third Place , two Points ahead of Fourth Place , one Point behind Second Place , and First Place had 333 Points ! After a little while, we left the Stadium ! The Clerks than gave us 298 Athlete Points , as that's how many Points we got in this last Speed Pokeathlon ! I thanked them! I then saved to the Clerks' left, in front of the PC , and to the left of the Records Board . 98:34

I decided to do two more Pokeathlons today, as I probably won't do tomorrow, or for a little while, as I hope to do something different tomorrow and for a little while! I made it to Black thorn city after catching a weepinbell, tangela, swinub, delibird, and jynx. Man jynx was hard to catch. I paralyzed it and got it to yellow hp and the balls didn't shake once >.>

The story so far:

Travelled to Cianwood and defeated all of the swimmers on the way. Found a few Shuckle's amongst the rocks scattered at the beach. Eusine was a bit difficult, surprisingly. Partly because I was raising a new team member at the time..

Magmar! Modest natured and has the ability to fire focus blast's at his opponents!
Chuck was next, he wasn't too difficult at all. If memory serves- Meganium being the powerhouse he is took most of his team down with ease. Being a duel screener Reflect helped out a lot. Next was Jasmine, she proved much more difficult than I had anticipated.

Magmar destroyed Magnemite as well as Steelix, her last Magnemite proved to be a tough enemy, using the TWave and Supersonic combo, rendering most of my team disabled. Somehow in the end however Meganium Petal Dance'd his way through Mites' tough coat.

After capturing the Red Gyarados, I decided it was time to fulfil my second Safari Zone challenge, and in the process pick up another buddy along the way..
Larvitar! Proving to be nigh on impossible to capture - let alone a nature I'd be happy with - I eventually settled with a female, I then breed her with my Adamant natured Nidoran male..

About to enter Mahogany town's suspicious suvernier shop my team now looks like this:

For some reason, Jimmy wanted a small break in his adventure and took a vacation on the S.S Aqua. He fought a few trainers, though two of them cheated in a battle with more than six Pokemon. After docking, he continued the adventure on Cycling Road, where he fought a ton of Bikers, and for some reason got their phone numbers.

After arriving in Fuchsia City, the gym was full of invisible walls! After many headaches, headbutting, snack breaks, and major brain damage, Jimmy and his crew fought all the trainers in the Gym, most were cosplayers and one crossdresser, and then battled...

While the Crobat just Screeched at him, S.MachoMan gave it a nice Stone Edge to the face. Then against the two Ariados Twins, Nassie gave them a Psychic lockdown. S.MachoMan took a strong Psychic from Venomoth, but Stone Edge sent it down. And Escargo just OHKO'd Weezing with Surf. There, earned the badge!

Finally got my final team member a female modest chinchou now going to train her up to L30 along with my other members Pooh bear, Summer and Drago. Hoping to have all up to L30 tonight and to have done the lighthouse tonight as well.

I will have to work hard to get Ice beam/Thunderbolt TMs for her though

I headed west towards the gate to the Pokemon League. I arrived, and I noticed that the path that led to Mt. Silver was finally unblocked. I arrived at the route near Mt. Silver, and I traveled through the tall grass. I was able to make use of the wild Pokemon there for training purposes, then I arrived at the Pokemon Center. I healed my Pokemon there, then I headed outside again to battle more Pokemon. I leveled up my Pokemon a bit, then I headed into Mt. Silver Cave. Once inside, I had Golem use Rock Climb, and I climbed the ledges. I battled some more wild Pokemon inside, then I headed outside again on the east side of the mountain, and I entered through another cave. I climbed Mt. Silver some more, and then I entered Moltres's lair. I didn't want to capture it just yet, so I left and I saved outside.

I battled most of the trainers on the route south of Blackthorn and also caught a skarmory and a teddiursa. Now everyone is lv 36 except Samantha is lv 35. I'm going to battle Claire next.

Day 136 Saturday , September 3, 2011 10:15,6,7 PM
I left the Pokeathlon Dome ! I then flew to Azalea Town ! I then went east onto Route 33 ! I kept going east, and then north a little, and I found the entrance to Union Cave ! I entered it! I explored it, including running from Wild Pokemon , finding a Great Ball , and battling and defeating Trainers with low Level Pokemon ! After exploring for a little while, we found a staircase downstairs at the farthest north point of this level of Union Cave ! We went down it! After ranning from some Wild Pokemon and finding a X Defend , we Surfed north on the water. We than got on land. After going north a little on land, we ran into Hiker Leonard who challenged us to a Battle ! I accepted, and the Battle started! I won! I then went north, east, and then north a little. Hiker Phillip then challenged us to a Battle , I accepted, the Battle started, and after it was over, we won! We then then went west. We then found a staircase that goes up. We went up! We went west a little, north a little, and then we Surfed on the water north for a little ways. We then got on land. We saw another staircase that goes up. We went up on it! There was a exit, and we went out! We were in the Ruins of Alph ! We explored the Ruins of Alph , including trying to solve one puzzle, and running away from two Wild Pokemon ! We then went back into the Ruins of Alph ! We went back down the stairs and we went east. We then Surfed on the water and we went south. We then got off the water, went south, and east. We went down the stairs. We went to the east, south, west, pushed a Boulder with Strength , well, Kingler did, and we went west. We found another staircase and we went up the stairs! We went west, north, and west! We found another staircase! We went up it! We found another exit! We went out it! We were in the Ruins of Alph again! We explored it! We went into a builiding and we worked on a puzzle! It was of an Omanyte ! We completed it! The room flashed, and the floor dropped out from under us! We dropped down! There was a man who came and congradulated us on solving the stone panel puzzle! He then gave us a Unown Report , a Key Item ! I thanked him! He then left to the east! I then went to the east, then north, west, north, east, north a little and then back south, and back west, all along the way running from Wild Unown ! I then went up the ladder there. I then excited the building, and then I went back in! I went back down the ladder! I then went east and north, running from Wild Unown again! I then saved after going north. 99:12

I climbed the snowy ledges around Mt. Silver, and then I reached the summit. I met Red there, and we began to battle the minute I interacted with him. He sent out his Pikachu, and I used my Typhlosion against it. It only took one strong Earthquake attack to finish Pikachu off, then I had to face off against Red's Lapras. I used Ampharos against it, but even its ThunderPunch attack wasn't too effective. I had to use Thunderbolt to end that match, then I fought against Red's Snorlax. It took forever to defeat it, even with Golem and Typhlosion. After that tedious match, I fought Red's Charizard using my Politoed, then I attacked Red's Blastoise with my Sunflora. Only his Venusaur was left after that, but I took it down with Typhlosion's Eruption attack. Red lost, and the credits rolled.

I started where I left off, underground of the Ruins of Alph ! We headed, west, north, and west. We came to a dead end! We then headed off on the long way backm which seemed shorter on the way back! We went up the ladder and out of the building! We were running away from Wild Unown most of the time! We explored the Ruins , including going south, including Surfing on water. We got into a building with a Aerodactyl Puzzle ! We completed it! The floor shook and the floor fell out from under us! We were underground, below the Ruins of Alph ! We went west to a dead end! We then went back east, north, west, north, and west. We found a ladder! We went up it! We were in a building, which we excited. We came out of the same building that we came out of before! We explored the Ruins of Alph some more, including a building with a Kabuto Puzzle that we tried to complete, and it looked completed, but apparently it wasn't! We explored more of the Ruins , including have Cameron the Photographer take a Picture of us! We explored the Ruins of Alph some more, mainly finding a Great Ball and a TinyMushroom with my Dowsing Machine , but we didn't find much else to do! We then flew to Azalea Town ! We headed east until we shortly got to the Slowpoke Well ! We entered it! We explored it! We found the ladder to downstairs soon! We went downstairs! We Surfed around, also landing, exploring. We found a TM18 , Rain Dance ! We explored more, including running away from Wild Pokemon as we also did on the First Floor ! We found a Scientist who talked about Slowpoke and their Evolution , and their relation with a King's Rock ! He was nice! I thanked him! I then thanked him! We talked, and he said that he would stay here longer and observe the Slowpoke more! I then saved on the same area as he was, rather close to him. 99:43,4

Jimmy flew back to Lavender Town and headed North, fighting a mercedes of trainers along the way. One guy even had the guts to use three very weak Magikarp. Another guy used very kingly Pokemon, and a high leveled Magikarp. That's an inside joke with Japan, because Magikarp's Japanese name is King Koi. I liked it when he used Seaking though. We eventually encounter the Teacher trainer type, which I believe is only in 2nd Gen Kanto. Apparently many ledges popped up in the last few years as well. Because of this, Jimmy had to pass through twice in order to beat everyone.

After this, it was off to Saffron Gym to fight a ton of Psychics. Apparently some gave up being a trainer and left, since there seems to be less than Kanto. I ended up sweeping the whole gym with just Carolina, though she couldn't OHKO most of the monsters. Eventually, we did meet...

Ok Sabrina, I'm digging the new look, but what's with those power ring/bracelet thingies? They look mighty heavy... That aside, I consider Sabrina to be one of more annoying fights in the game. In fact the first playthrough I fought her, I had to whip out my Ho-oh in order to beat her. That aside, I had some guts to send Cannonbolt against Espeon. She Calm Minded, while Cannonbolt's Earthquake brought it down to the red. Sabrina healed, while Cannonbolt Ice Sharded, but then a lucky Quick Claw let it Earthquake beforehand and defeat it.

Next up was the big guns, Alakazam. I had no hesitation to switch to Kindle and Shadow Claw it, but for some reason it did not OHKO it, and it used Reflect. Nevertheless, one more Shadow Claw defeated it. Last up was Mr. Mime. Now the hero sent S.MachoMan out. Why exactly? Because Jimmy's strategy is to ignore type disadvantages, kick reason to the curb and believing in the gym guy who believes in him. While the Mr. Mime sets up a Light Screen, S.MachoMan gives it a DYNAMICPUNCH, and the mime is the first Pokemon to ever live such a thing, but gets confused. It hurts itself in confusion, and a lucky critical-hit Stone Edge ends Sabrina, giving us the badge!

I picked up my Soulsilver game after months of not playing it and looked through my team. I realized I had an EV trained Darkrai and Palkia just sitting in the PC so I took them two to the Elite 4 and trained them up a few levels there. I also went through my PC and selected a few Pokemon to transfer over to White such as my EV trained Torterra, Electivire, and Lucario. Lastly, I looked through my items and realized I have 46 Rare Candies! That's crazy. I'll probably use a few on Palkia and Darkrai.

I started in New Bark Town again, then I headed outside and I flew to Goldenrod City. I played at the local Game Corner, then I set off north towards the Pokeathlon Dome near National Park. I entered the Power Course there with my Typhlosion, Golem and Politoed, and I won by a slim margin. I then headed to National Park, and after wandering through the tall grass, I climbed a ledge and I used Headbutt on a tree there. I encountered a wild Cherubi, and I captured it. I then headed to Violet City, and I bought items at the Poke Mart. I went to the Ruins of Alph afterwards, and I proceeded to capture all the different Unown forms there. I already had three different kinds, so that meant that I needed 23 other Unown. After about 20 minutes, I had captured 10 more forms. I saved afterwards.

Just beat Morty in SS, and I'm about to in HG. I think I might restart both games though, to rectify several things that have been bothering me. Nothing better to do with my time until university starts back any ways, and these games haven't been getting the attention from me that I would have never liked, never mind the amount they deserve. Probably because I bought them a few months ago, but only really play my DS on the train to and from uni...
