The Safari Zone hates me, it draws me in then throws in a shiny that HAS to escape so it can mock me then do the same thing over again. Haven't done much else, apart from trying to get all of m Legendaries to at least LV65 because I'm bored, so why not train for awhile...
Yeah, the Safari Zone is the one place where I don't think shinies should ever appear. Every time I find a shiny, I act very carefully to avoid KOing it (unless it is being used by a trainer). Normal shiny encounters are fine with me, it's just that they take longer than normal battles due to my extra precautions; even finding shinies with trainers is fine with me; but I hate the idea of having a wild shiny flee. The only worse thing was when I found a shiny Seviper in the Emerald Battle Pike; where no items are useable. I'm actually happy that I've never found a shiny in the Safari Zone (without the aid of an AR code, I confess).

Speaking of the Safari Zone, I've been waiting patiently for quite a while for the special item pokemon to appear. By my calculations, Riolu should appear in SS around this next Tuesday, give or take. If memory serves, I royally screwed up in HG and put 18 Rock objects with 12 Grass objects for about 50 days before realizing that Riolu requires the presence of Forest objects. At least I made sure the others were set up properly (but it is still killing me waiting for Gible to appear; Riolu may be taking forever, but Gible will take a whole month to appear after that).

Just for fun, I've run down the list of starter evolutions and made my own dub names for each of them. Just try and guess, I dare ya'.

I used to limit myself, but in my first run through of HG I made sure I only used 6 pokemon and then became a bit overlevelled, so now I'm training more than 60% of what I catch. - have 19 that I continually train and 13 that I am slowly levelling in a separate box. And the moment I can I'm going to train a Tangela, Krabby/Seel and Lickytung- And I haven't touched the Safari Zone yet.

Played pretty much constantly since my last post, (5 hours ago)
Levelled half my team to level 30. Not near a PC at the moment as I'm going to get a Lapras so I can't remember who I've levelled, let it be said everything that could OHKO a Slowpoke. (EV training the level 3 Happiny)

    And I went stupid with evolutions;
    1) I wanted to evolvee Happiny at level 12 in time to learn Softboiled. But failed because it needs to be day light. (who knew?!)
    2) Then evolved the Abra previously mentioned without realising it evolved at level 16. (I was thinking Machop, Geodude and Gastly all evolve at level 25 then trade so in my mind it made sense that Abra should wait to 25) Ohwell, yay Kadabra!
    3) While battling Slowpoke and wishing one would be shiny, - I now allways train in the well, I've battled hundreds of the buggers! My Elekid evolved! I had gotten used to it being an Elekid and assumed it would stay as one forever. zP Huwoo for Electrabuzz though. Forgot how much I loved those. ^_^
    4) Questioned why my Slowpoke was still a slowpoke and thought I'd done something wrong because of all the low levelled Slowbros in the well.

I think this is proof that I am tired. Off to bed nao. Though I have noticed a good deal of my pokemon are due to evolve in the next few levels. 8D

Okies, it has been a long time since that last post. -has had exams-
Just got back to playing today and had a shuffle of what I'm training. finally got through ice path. I'd been in twice looking for Jynx and then escape roped out so I never got all the way though. Going to take on the trainers on route 45 before visiting the gym; this is mostly because my highest leveled pokemon are level 32. Dx

    What Ahm training nao:
    Level 25: Jynx.
Level 31: Kangaskhan, Nidorina, Swinub, Tangela.
Level 32: Graveler, Forretress, Slowpoke, Dodrio, Feraligatr, Haunter, Shaymin! (normal), Raichu (fly), Beedrill, Lapras, Electabuzz, Togetic, Gyarados, Growlithe, Lickitung, Venusaur.

What Ahm preparing for use after 1st round E4:
    Level 10: Tyrogue.
    Level 11: Staryu.
Level 12: Chansey, Cyndaquil, Nidoran (M), Shellder.
    Level 13: Pinsir.
    Level 14: Scyther.
    Level 16: Kadabra, Krabby.
    Level 17: Sandshrew, Magneton.
    Level 20: Diglett, Tauros, Corsola.
    Level 23: Electrode, Goldeen.
    Level 24: Gligar.
    Level 25: Farfetch'd, Poliwhirl.
Level 32: Donphan, Ursaring, Mantine, Pidgeotto. (Just stopped training these today)
Level 40: Rotom. (I went Rotom happy at Slowoke well, might move to training team when they catch up)

    Daycare:
    Level 48 - 53: Delibird.
    Level 52: Metapod.

I do alot of running about apparently. Metapod has been there since I first got there. I want a level 100 Metapod for wi-fi battles, dunno why.
Delibird was recieved in a trade ages and ages ago, I can't remember what level he was then, I think between 5 and 10, might be more. It currently says he has gone up 43 levels. xD I might take him out soon and EV train him abit for 2nd round E4 or Red.

My pokedex is 78 caught and play time is 130 hours. xDDD One day I will complete this game.

Finally got back into the game.

Training on the very top of Mount Silver is proving dividends, and all my party are level 60. Attempted Red once and failed abysmally, but might challenge the Elite 4 rematches.

Tried getting Entei and Raikou with my Butterfree/Golbat combo, but failed (trying for them in Pokeballs).

Went to the Pokeathlon and managed to reach the final room, having master records in the Ring event and the Goal event.

To improve training even further, I'm scrounging around the Safari Zone for some Chansey holding Lucky Eggs. So far three Chansey, all Oval Stone and hence no Lucky Egg. Until a Chansey swarm appears, this is the way forward unfortunately for me.

    Default SoulSilver Journey Post 55

I mentioned last time that I would further my streak in the Battle Castle. I did just that moving up from 21 wins to 28. I then went to Kanto and nicknamed Jolteon. He is now Mercury after the god of speed. I then did my weekly Gym Leader rematches and did all 16 battles in one day. My team is now 1 level higher than Red's weakest Pokemon (his Lapras which is level 80 while my team is all level 81). I am now saved at the top of Mt. Silver and will rematch Red again.

I renamed my Espeon into Light, and I'm training a male Eevee, named L, with a quirky nature to Umbreon! ^^ Started watching Death Note recently ^^
    And...OMG!! I got a shiny Tangela!! :-D
I'm rebattling again and again the Pokemon League to make my ultimate Team! My fav Kiwi (TOGEKISS) is already lv100, and Klara (miltank), Hermes (Dragonite. Shiny!! :-) ) and Terminator (Metagross X-P nickname suits him perfect!) and SHUCKLE are following up... I guess the 6th nember of my ultimate team will be Blaziken from my Emerald, after I rename him Indiana. I'm kinda obsessed with nicknames lately for a reason. :-)

    - One day, a few days ago, I did a LOT in this game. First, I finally got around to battling Jasmine. I thought her level 35 Steelix was going to be hard to beat with a team of level 32's, but then my jaw dropped when my Staryu OHKO'd it with a critical-hit Surf. Wow, that was lucky.

-When I got back to the Pokemon Centre, I found that my Staryu had Pokerus! Weird--the only Pokemon it could've possibly caught it from was Jasmine's Steelix. What are the chances of a gym leader's Pokemon having Pokerus!? But for the next few endeavours I had fun passing Pokerus to some of my other Pokemon.

-After that, I caught the Red Gyarados, which wasn't too hard--I caught it with my first Heavy Ball. The challenging part was that it kept using Dragon Rage, KOing two of my Pokemon in the process...

-Then I headed into the Rocket hideout to defeat the Rockets there. The first thing I did was trip all the security cameras, having my new Gyarados easily own the Rockets' low-leveled Pokemon each time. He even gained a level upon doing so. The Rockets in there were overall easy to defeat--even the double battle alongside Lance's Dragonite was pretty easy.

-After that, I decided to explore the Whirl Islands. This was a nice bonding moment with my Eevee, who was first in my party the whole time (his Run Away ability came in handy). Unfortunately the guy asking for a Silver Wing prevented me from reaching where Lugia was, but I got a few items out of the adventure at least.

-Then there was the battle with Pryce. This was the last important battle my Magneton participated in--I decided to take it off my team after that since it can't evolve to Magnezone in this game apparently. The weird part was that on Pryce's last Pokemon (Piloswine), I had my Lapras use Perish Song, but she didn't need it--a few Water Pulses took care of that before the Perish counts reached zero.

-Then there was the Rocket invasion of the Radio Tower--a very fun part of the game indeed. I was very tempted to fly to another town and take a picture of myself in a Rocket uniform... but decided not to for whatever reason. The final battle with the boss was actually quite hard--he had a Houndoom, and I was unfortunate enough to have an Alakazam, Gengar, Misdreavus, and Meganium on my team... but my Lapras fortunately was able to just barely defeat Houndoom.

-Then I headed towards Blackthorn City, catching a Jynx along the way just for the heck of it. Then I caught a Teddiursa while wandering south of there. Finally I have someone with the Pickup ability!

-The reason why I was so excited to reach Blackthorn City was because that's where the Move Deleter and Move Relearner are. I had the Move Relearner teach my Persian Switcheroo. Then I went over to Route 39 to see if that Persian could user her new Switcheroo to steal a Metal Coat from a Magnemite. Well, she didn't have any luck there... but she did steal a few Moo Moo Milks from Miltanks that appeared.

-Now I want to get my team to level 40 before facing Clair... so I have some more training to do it seems. I really wish I had a Water Stone now, so that my Staryu could evolve... and a Dusk Stone so my Misdreavus could evolve. And the reason I'm searching for a Metal Coat is so that my Scyther could evolve.

I have been SRing for my shiny D.D Dratini and after I will make Raikou faint, go and beat the E4 for a 3rd time and SR for it being shiny, may take a loooooong time though...

I am currently trying to get Budew to like me and evolve into Roselia, so I can use my Shiny Stone to make it Roserade. Here are the other Pokemon I plan on evolving with stones as I only have 1 of each (apart from, I have no Sun Stones and 2 Moon Stones, I did have 5 but I've used 3 to get Nidoqueen, Nidoking and Wigglytuff.)

    -Growlithe LV23
    -Misdreavus LV37
    -Shellder LV15
    -Gloom LV19
    -Clefairy LV14
    -Pikachu LV16

I've recently done a lot with HeartGold. Firstly, I bred for an Elekid with Cross Chop to transfer to SoulSilver when I eventually start it. This involved running around Victory Road on FireRed to find a suitable Machoke with Cross Chop (which took a while), but it was worth it. Now I have the Elekid egg sitting on my HG file, ready to trade over.

Secondly, a couple of days ago there was a swarm of Chansey on route 13. I took out Dan my Coumpoundeyes Nincada, Odette my Frisk Stantler and Pika my FireRed Raichu who has Thief for some reason. I spent a good portion of that day collecting Lucky Eggs - I now have 8 - to give to my team in order to help level them up. Toothless, getting extra exp already for being a traded pokémon, is now speeding through the level-up process!

And, to continue the badge quest: after levelling up my pokémon, I got the Rainbow Badge and the Volcano Badge over the past couple of days, leaving only Blue/Green to defeat before I can gain access to Mt. Silver. Being at level 64, they only need to gain 1 more level before we take him on. At the minute, the team is:

    Dynamo (Ampharos) - lv.64
    Flike (Growlithe) - lv.64
    Sherlock (Noctowl) - lv.64
    Vito (Tyranitar) - lv.64
    Violet (Cloyster) - lv.64
    Toothless (Salamence) - lv.64

I'm also working on the pokédex, which I think is 278 National and 204 Johto (owned) so far.

    Default SoulSilver Journey Post 56

This weekend was pretty eventful. I started off winning the Bug Catching Contest with a Beautifly. I also caught a Calm Chansey with Natural Cure which will be EV trained in Platinum. The next thing that happened is that I got a Gold Print in the Battle Castle. Garchomp took care of all of the Frontier Brain's Pokemon. Earthquake took care of Empoleon while Outrage blew Gallade and Entei into oblivion. My next Print shall be from the Battle Hall.

At Kanto, I went through Diglett's Cave to get to Viridian and traveled to Pallet Town to get to Cinnabar Island. On the way I came across a shiny Furret. I caught her in a Friend Ball, like the other Furret (I don't know why I used a Friend Ball), I caught and plan to use her for the Pokeathlon.

After excessive training and wasting my time, I decided to take on the Elite Four rematches.

Will was quite simple. So was Koga, didn't lose any Pokemon in battling them.
Bruno and Karen were slightly tougher but still relatively simple.

Lance was a whole 'nother story. His first Pokemon was level 72, which was ridiculous to see considering the other Pokemon I'd faced had been much lower level.

I was in debt to three of my party for the win over Lance. Namely Dunsparce, Feraligatr, and the unexpected hero of the day, Sunflora.

Dunsparce was amazingly useful, with Stealth Rock affecting many of his team heavily (all but Garchomp), especially Charizard. Yawn was also handy to avoid being battered and setting up my team.
Feraligatr was immensely useful, especially with Ice Fang, and the fact that it resisted the Dragon Dancing Gyarados.

But all the plaudits go to Sunflora. Once the opposition has been yawned to sleep, it was up to Sunflora to Leech Seed them. And not only did it hold up well, it BEAT DRAGONITE. Draco Meteor messed up its special attack, leaving me to whittle it down.

And what a way to win, Altaria used Perish Song on itself. Didn't get many levels but pretty chuffed that I won.

Now it's back to the grind on top of Mount Silver. Everyone's around level 61-62.

Just finished Ev training my Latias (252 Defense, 252 S Defense, 4 Speed, 2 Attack). Given it the moves Dragon Breath, Reflect, Light Screen, and it's about to learn Recover since it's on level 44. Hopefully this'll be a useful one for the battle tower, but we shall soon see .

This just happened 1 min ago...

Was on Route 38 seeking to kill my Calm Entei and was getting quite annoyed cause I encountered 4 wild Pokemon in a row. The next encounter after that was still not Entei...but instead it was a shiny male Rattata! Entei appeared right after capturing the golden rat.

Well, after not playing a Pokemon game since 2008, a friend convinced me to buy a copy of Soul Silver.

I didn't feel like starting it as soon as I got it, so, I decided to try my luck and Soft Reset for a shiny starter for a few days before continuing on with the game. Within two days of doing it, I received this little fellow:

        Spoiler:- Picture:

So, after that, I decided to EV train him. He is less than 100 Pokemon away from being complete (He is now a level 22 Croconaw from all this).

I caught a Pidgey to get me to Violet City, since I can't use my Croconaw till I finish EV Training it. And now, I am currently finishing up the training in Route 32, before I go face Falkner.

    Team:
    Croconaw - 22
    Pidgey - 9

I plan on catching more Pokemon for my team once I finish training up Croconaw.

Beat Team Rocket at Goldenrod and headed to Blackthorn to hopefully catch Teddiursa. I found a Teddiursa and caught her, she ended up being of a Lonely nature so that wasn't gonna be good. Leveled up my Rattata to learn Crunch, since he knew Facade that would be perfect. Now I'm working on breeding for an Adamant Teddiursa with Pickup. That way he'll have Guts as an Ursaring.

The good thing was while breeding Teddiursa I got an almost perfect one for the Pokeathlon, the one exception being her Jumping abilities. Still breeding to get the Adamant Teddy and after that I'm gonna breed a Modest Girafarig. Then it's time to level up and challenge Clair.

    Current Team:

    Miltank (f) Lv 30@Cheri berry
    Adamant/Thick Fat
    Body Slam
    Milk Drink
    Zen Headbutt
    Surf

    Persian (m)Lv 32@Muscle Band

Currently training at Mt. Silver for Red, my team is:

    Blastoise (63)
    Charizard (73)
    Tyranitar (58)
    Ampharos (62)
    Alakazam (63)

Currently in need of another team member, thinking of either training a Blissey (would take ages) or my Lv. 40 Dragonair.

Also trying to do a few gym rematches and complete the extra stuff from the game
I don't use "uber" Pokemon, I don't calculate stat values, I don't use cheating devices, I don't breed my way to perfection, and I don't care about natures. I catch my Pokemon the way they are, and treat them like individuals instead of brainless drones. If you use this philosophy, copy & paste this into your signature. (Started by Tyranitar)
